In case somebody don't know who this dude is up here, I'm Allen Toussaint from New Orleans, songwriter.
I've been writing for a long time, and I spent all of my life in the studio, waiting for the red light to come on, to try to reach the people.
And here they are.

And there's nothing like it.
I've never felt better in my whole run than I feel in this city.
You have a wonderful place here.
But I'll be doing songs tonight that I've written over the years and was made popular by artists -- other artists that I wrote them for.
Every now and then, I wrote for me.
I wrote songs for me, and it sold four records.
So I stopped writing for me, and I wrote for other people.
