Meet the rare Amargosa toad and the community alliance that helped save it from extinction.

On the edge of Beatty, a rare amphibian once faced extinction — but as Outdoor Nevada host John Burke learns, the Amargosa toad has made a powerful comeback thanks to a remarkable alliance between scientists, ranchers, and local residents. Found only along a short stretch of the Amargosa River, it became a symbol of cooperation between local residents, government agencies, and conservationists.
