Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorship- Hi, I am Amber Thomas.
I'm a Milwaukee-based artist, and I would love to give you a tour of my studio.
(upbeat instrumental music) My studio used to be my living-room space.
It's about 500 square feet.
Brush Box is my practice.
So Brush Box is a therapeutic arts company.
I am an art therapist.
We develop both art kits and art-based programming for the state of Wisconsin.
In this corner, we have all of our mixes.
So our bead mixes that go into our kits are called bead soup.
Like we have like all of these (dragons rattle) dragons and unicorns, (upbeat music continues) lots of gems, (gems shuffle) all these butterflies (butterflies rattle) in different sizes.
There's letter beads, pumpkins, carrots, circles, and wooden shapes.
(beads scratch) (upbeat music continues) Also down here, so this is for everything for our journal-making kits.
This is all of our fabrics, different textures, spray paint.
So in this corner, this is more focused on my fine-art side.
I have a lot of paintings that are ideas that I've started that I just haven't completed yet.
I store all of my paints around here.
I have a collection of palettes that I use, and this is all of my acrylic paint in different colors and types.
Every inch is full, so we make superhero kits.
So this is where we keep all of our card stock for that.
This is our new magical color-changing slime kit, so that's getting ready to go to a festival in Wauwatosa.
These are kits that we've made, and maybe they're not in rotation right now.
Our Pumpkin Pie Slime is special for the fall.
These are nutcrackers that are being painted for the holidays.
Here's where we collect materials of the same type, so we have all different types of styrofoam.
This is all wood-type pieces.
These are things I probably didn't know where to put, so they went here, and that's my studio.
