(upbeat music) - Celebrate America 250 with a vibrant pops concert from the American West Symphony.
You'll hear patriotic favorites and live performances at this family-friendly event.
Deanne Foster joins us now to explain how this event highlights the power of community.
Welcome, Deanne.
- Thank you very much.
Delighted to be here.
- So tell me about that theme of highlighting the power of community for America 250.
- Well, we're bringing together not only the American West Symphony & Chorus to perform with the very distinguished conductors, maestro Joel Rosenberg and Miss Ljuba Kelly for the chorus, and bringing them together, but also some featured artists will be doing sing-alongs during the performance.
So it will be just a wonderful community effort.
So yeah, we're very excited about it.
- And while there are a lot of concerts going on that cost money, this is pretty much free to the public, right?
- Yes, absolutely, totally free.
- They don't have to get tickets or worry about anything like that, but there are other elements that they may wanna bring their cash or a card for, like the food trucks, right?
- Yeah, there will be food trucks.
It'll make it even more (laughing) delightful.
(laughing) So yes, definitely for that.
Of course the Symphony always takes donations, but the concert itself will be free, so.
- That's awesome.
And I hear that there are also interactive moments that could happen during the concert as well.
- Yes, we're excited to be able to include the audience on some sing-alongs.
and also a whistle-along.
(laughing) (Liz laughing) So if you're coming and you're attending the event, be sure to practice, get your whistle going.
(laughing) - Oh, I'm horrible at it.
I am terrible.
(laughing) (Deanne laughing) - We'll be doing "The Colonel Bogey March," so we wanna be sure, we're gonna have the audience whistle along to that.
So that'll be fun.
But other sing-alongs as well, it'll be a lot of fun.
- What are some other songs or other, you know, musical performances that people can expect?
- Oh, we'll be highlighting or featuring VoxSola, which is a local top-tier vocal ensemble.
We'll be featuring the Riverton's Children Chorus, as well as just singing along with songs like "Battle Hymn of the Republic."
- I love that.
- "Star-Spangled Banner."
So exciting numbers.
- A lot.
Well, thank you so much for joining us and sharing this information.
