(upbeat music) - Bridget Lancaster, host of "America's Test Kitchen" is coming to you Utah, to talk about her experiences on the show, her favorite recipes, and why good kitchen tools matter.
Here to tell us more is Marissa Hodges and Laura Durham.
Hi, Laura, from PBS, Utah.
- Hi, Mary.
- Let's start with you.
So PBS Utah is bringing her here.
- Oh, I'm so excited.
I personally love this show.
It's kind of my wind down show, and I watch it on the Create channel.
And what I love about "America's Test Kitchen" is that it's just, a lot of them are really accessible recipes, but they're also tried and true.
So we're very excited that Bridget is coming to Utah, so people can get to know her and ask her some questions.
- I know, that's so cool.
And she's gonna be here August 4th at the Viridian.
- August 4th, that's a Thursday night at the Viridian Event Center.
And this is a partnership with the Salt Lake County Library.
So I'm really glad Marissa's here too.
- All right, well, Marissa, there's a lead in to you.
- That's right.
- Okay, and this is also the launch of what we call Create Kits.
What are the Create Kits?
- That's right, so we are going to have pasta kits available starting that night.
They include manual pasta rollers and graters, tools that are tested by "America's Test Kitchen" and approved.
So people can check out these kits for two weeks, make pasta at home, and then return them freshly washed and ready for the next person to use.
- I love it that you can go to your library to check out kitchen tools.
- Yeah, and these kitchen tools, they're high-end tools that people might not be ready to invest in.
But we know they're tested and approved, so people can take them home and try them out.
- I love it, I love it.
Okay, and tell me, Laura, why is this show so popular?
- The show's popular.
I mean, the hosts are just really engaging.
So if you're not familiar with Bridget and Julia, you're gonna love Bridget when she comes out.
These people were not hired to be TV hosts.
They're genuine chefs.
They were hired to be test cooks, but over the years, it just became so popular.
So people are gonna absolutely love this event.
- Oh, good, well, I'm so glad you're doing it.
It's a good idea.
Thank you so much, both of you.
