In New Jersey, employment numbers are still well below pre-pandemic levels. Labor Day also coincides with the expiration of three federal programs for unemployment insurance benefits, including the extended $300 a week in aid. And a new report from New Jersey Policy Perspective suggests the state’s economic recovery is uneven at best.
