(gentle music) A Centralia marijuana lab may be the first in Washington to lose its certification.
Data analyst Keegan Skeate agonized for more than a year about reporting suspicious test results at Praxis Laboratory.
Praxis is certified by the state to test THC levels in recreational pot for growers.
THC is the substance that gets you high.
Skeate secretly set up software that revealed test results had been altered a few dozen times.
What appeared to happen was that the weights of marijuana samples were changed making the weights smaller.
So concentrations of THC would appear larger.
The inflated THC values would end up on retail labels of pot products.
Washington's liquor and cannabis board may permanently revoked Praxis Laboratory's certification.
Praxis is legally contesting that move.
