#### Governor Beshear today signed legislation giving Kentucky State Police troopers raises of 15-thousand dollars a year.
The state budget also includes 12-million dollars for state police to buy video recording equipment, allowing them to record situations involving the public.
#### Senator Mitch McConnell says it's possible for Republicans to hurt their midterm election chances by nominating unacceptable candidates.
According to "The Hill", McConnell also said the political atmosphere for Republicans is good otherwise.
