A state title game.
Tell me what I'm RJ Hawk along with Bobby Swafford as we've got a good one for you tonight between Valley View and Harrison and both these teams.
They can swing it, they can pitch it, but really, if you would start with Harrison 1st and talk about the road to get here, that state tournament was really impressive, because really if you think about it, it was.
It was kind of, you know, going through the motions with the first two games, but the Huntsville game was the one that really got them over the top.
You look at their records, a little deceiving.
21 and 12 overall left five of those losses.
The teams in either 5 or Class 6A.
But you mentioned the state tournament.
They had to break out the big sticks and then talking about 17 to 11 they beat Huntsville.
And the regional charities the state semifinals to get to this point lost in the regional tournament.
They had to work through the losers bracket.
If you will, of the state tournament.
But they got big bats and then they can swing in the hurry.
On the other side, Valley View comes in 29 and six.
And really the the thing that's impressive on their on their lineup is how good they are.
With average RBI's I mean they just score a ton of runs them and and they showed that in the state tournament as well.
We talked about how good Harrison was.
How about 15 to three over Farmington 12 to 5?
For Arkadelphia and then around 9:00 to 1:00 they defeat Shiloh Christian in the semifinals.
To get here, Valley View can swing it one through 9.
Their entire lineup is Dangerous and Harrison has gonna have to be very careful, because if they leave it, a couple extra runners on and the Blazers can take advantage.
Here's a big number for you watching at home for Valley View 391 runs.
They've scored this baseball season.
That's a lot of runs.
How about a high school baseball team averaging more than eleven runs per contest?
While I just ran down the list of games and the state tournament, that's they're averaging more than 11.
In the in the postseason so they can go out there and they can do damage up and down the lineup.
Now how does Harrison and their pitching staff combat that?
Well, we are in Benton, it's the home of the Bent Panthers at Everett Field.
It's the Benton athletic complex.
Gorgeous facilities here.
If you're not familiar with the ballpark, what's going around?
The outfield down the left field line is 323 fifty five over in the left center at 375 dead Away, Dead Center, and then over in right field three 55320 down the right field line.
Bobby this field is only seen one home run.
They played three baseball games up to this point.
We've only seen one home run yeah last year in the during the six state championship games.
We only saw two, so you think that the teams at the largest level of high school baseball in Arkansas will be blasting out of the park.
The dimensions that you just went across.
Not that big.
It's not a huge part though.
There's just something about it.
There's a force field out in the outfield.
There you get it up in the air.
It automatically knocks it down.
Whether it's not, it's wind flow, whether it's the scoreboard blocking the path, whatever the case may be, could be UFO's.
I don't know.
Something prevents the ball from flying out the ballpark.
Well, let's go around the defensive lineman for Valley View and or for Harrison.
Excuse me they are the home team in this contest and in the infield.
You've got Jared Wilson at third base.
Sloan Barrett is it short.
Logan Plumley is at second and Garen Crockett is the first baseman today in the outfield.
You've got timber Craig Wellie kind Madden in centerfield and Brody Gilliam in Richfield, Craig Wellies and left and then the battery.
You've got Dylan Block who's pitching with a one point seven five ERA and thirty five strikeouts.
He's only he's had thirty three.
Walks this year and then.
Beck Jones is the catcher that will be catching all of his pitches today.
4 Valley View.
Who is the visiting team they come in with a record of 29 and six.
Their lineup looks like this.
You've got Slate Caldwell leading things off.
Grayson Becker batting second.
Lawson Ward is batting third.
Tyler Hoskins is 4th Cooper Lutz is 5th, batting 6 is Preston.
Walt Lington or Wadding wing excuse me Watlington.
It's say I'm going to get three times fast and then Carter Salisbury 7th.
Carson, Turley's 8th and Jackson.
Stotts is batting 9th, so Slate Caldwell leads leads things off.
He's the center fielder and he'll take a ball inside Caldwell batting 511 with nine home runs, 46 RBI.
But if he gets on the bags.
Bobby 41 stolen bases this year.
Yeah, talked about a threat to to turn a lead off walk and he slaps that one through the hole in the left side of the already on base and we'll see how quickly the Valley View wants to put him in motion because you mentioned those 41 bases stolen.
RJ he turns that single into a double.
More quickly and all of a sudden he's in scoring position and the rest of the lineup can feast on it.
Grayson Becker.
The left fielder is gonna be due on next batting 361 with a home run and 31 RBI this year.
Turn.
I talked with.
Head coach for Harrison.
Matt Roden and he said that blocks have kind of been their.
Go to guys.
Here's the stolen base attempt and they got him at second base.
Caldwell didn't like the call.
He thought he got a pretty good jump.
He went on 1st motion.
Of course you the slide on the artificial turf.
You gotta start that a little sooner.
He's gunned down in second base even though he didn't like the golf.
That was a great throw by Beck Jones for Harrison.
You can see the replay right here as he had a cannon on him and sure enough it was a boom boom tag and they tagged him on the back foot.
He might have gotten the front foot in there just before the tag.
That's close.
That's a Bang Bang play.
Give the benefit to the umpire.
He's got a lot better angle out than we do.
That brings the count to Owen two after the check swing foul bomb, but no talking about Rhoden on Dylan Block, he said that between him and Kyle Madden those two have kind of been their studs throughout the year.
And if it 11's not having a great game, they bring the other and they they work well off one another.
Yeah this team can do it pretty much any way you want to RJ 229 stolen bases of the team.
So it's not just Caldwell.
If he gets on the base they try to put pressure on your defense.
Here's the one too swung on.
Popped up on the right field side in fall.
Territory giving Chase is the first basement Crockett and he'll haul it in for the second out here in the first inning.
There's a ton of foul Val territory here at Everidge Field.
Most sides down the lines and that way able to venture over in Becker's retired on the pop out.
You know earlier in the 18 game, Hayden and I were talking about how much territory there is.
Usually like.
If you were at a normal ballpark, say like Bomb Stadium, that's usually 5th or 6th row.
How much pal territory that is?
So now Lawson Ward is at the plate.
He's the catcher today, batting 384, four home runs, 40 RBI's as the sliders in there called a strike 72 miles an hour.
And it's on one they lost an award, can go gap to gap 13 double s 2 triples.
You mentioned the four home runs so 19 extra base hits for loss and Ward basketball outside corner misses and it's one in one.
On deck is Tyler Hoskins, the DH.
I like the pace the Harrison pitchers working with not wasting any time.
There's a nice slider that caught that outside corner.
It's one and two.
You you see that the catchers knit kind of popping?
You know out of the zone and tries to bring it back, but it's not worth, of course, where the catcher makes the makes the catch receives the pitch, but also where it crosses the plate, and that's deemed to strike.
Here's the one too.
Swan and missed.
And Valley View goes 123 in order.
And for Harrison, Dylan Block throws 10 pitches here on the top of the first inning to get out of it unharmed.
0 zeros are scoring.

We head to the bottom of the first inning here in Benton, where Valley View this got set down 123 on the top of the first.
The Harrison goblins are up now and let's go around the defensive lineman for Valley View on the infield.
You've got Preston Wadlington at third base.
Jackson, Stockton Short Carson Turley at second Cooper Lutz at first base in the outfield.
Grayson, Beckers, and left Slade Caldwells and center in Carson.
Salisbury is in rhinefield your battery today on the mound is Eli.
Roselius he's seven and oh with a 1.68 ERA, 92 strikeouts in 19 walks and behind the plate will be lost and ward his battery mate.
The lineup for Harrison Sloan Barrett's gonna lead things off.
He's the shortstop today, followed by Dylan Block, Beck Jones, Kyle Madden in the four hole.
Logan Plumley is the 2nd baseman batting 5th timber crenwelge is the 6th hole hitter.
Batting 7th is Brody Gilliam.
Tristan Thompson is the DH, batting 8th and batting 9th is Jared Wilson.
The third baseman talked about the numbers for Corselli as the starting pitcher for Valley View.
Just a sophomore but 92 strikeouts.
The compared to this.
19 based on balls.
He's gonna make teams earn it.
He's also gonna earn the punch out more times than not.
Here's the first pitch by creselious and that is popped up left side.
Giving Chase is the left fielder.
Becker and it's gonna be just up against the batting cage and that'll be owing one.
Today's umpires for the game is behind the home plate as John Dawson, the first base umpire is Stephen Powell and at third base you've got Chris Phillips.
That's a good example of how much foul territory there is here in Benton, because that is out of the most ballparks.
And then to the parking lot.
But here it's had a chance to make the play.
This couldn't quite get there in time.
Fastball misses low at 80 miles an hour and it's one in one.
Gorgeous night for baseball here in Benton.
As the one one is a fastball swung on and found out of play.
Harrison needs the top half of their lineup to produce when they go.
The goblins go Sloan Barrett, Dylan Block, and Kyle Badner.
All three committed to play at the next level, and those four players, three players through the top, four in the lineup.
The guys that have to produce for the goblins.
And you talked about going to the next level.
Sloan Barrett headed to Arkansas Tech as the one two pitch is found out of plane.
Bear on the year batting 402 with a home run in 22 RBI.
And curveball gets him and strikes out the first batter that Cresselia sees, and when we look at the replay of this, just look at the bend on this curveball.
It's at 12 to six.
It looks like it just absolutely falls off of a table right down the middle of the plate, and the last 10 feet.
This breaks straight down, and Barrett had no chance to barrel up the baseball.
So now Dylan Block will be at the plate batting 539 in the year nine home runs, 56 RBI's he puts this one in play to right field and it's a line shot at Salisbury, pull the second out.
We didn't have time to talk about the batting average RJ, but I don't care if you've played one game all season or the entire slates of games.
You're hitting 539.
That's an impressive campaign.
Nine home runs, 56 RBI's for a block but first pitch he sees he flares it out to right and easy play for the Blazer defense.
Now back Jones steps into the box.
He's the catcher batting 388.
With three home runs, 29 RBI.
As that pitch is high.
Good look at the sophomore catcher.
Here's the one O curveball in there for a called strike.
He gets the call there that's not worker Shelly.
US wants to live though breaking balls.
Top of the zone tend to get banged to the outfield, so you gotta keep that pitch down if you want to be successful.
11 is swung on and fouled up out of play down the right field side.
The old adage is you hang them, we bang them.
You gotta keep the ball in the lower third of the strike zone.
You want to be successful for the Bender.
Add Swan on and found back.
Two thoughts on the getting the pitches on the wristband these days.
No, we talked about that the last game.
And here's a curveball.
Everybody thought it was a strike out and Chris Ellis was like, well, I'm gonna head back out there now.
You know we talked about it last game.
Bobby and.
You know, I. I think it's kind of takes away something from the game AU or not.
AU, you trip.
Baseball really kind of started that at the Little League level.
Getting the wristbands and you know kids got.
They got used to it and you don't have to get worried about getting signs mixed up as here's a foul tip at the plane.
It takes away the fun.
It also takes away the the the knowledge of the game.
You don't have to, I guess.
Be as as observant.
Of course we've seen it with the seven on 7 and you know the spread offenses that everybody in football goes to the wristbands these days.
Well, I like the old school where you got the signal in from the dugout.
You relay it onto your picture and you go from there.
There's a curveball that bounced in the dirt, and it's three and two, but I'm also the guy that thinks baseball players have to rake the dirt and we're getting away from that as well.
Yeah, yeah, you know, sometimes the finance is getting the way of it.
Great look, I get it.
I'm not saying that like when you know.
Back in my day, but I I get it.
The finances and and turf has done wonders for sports, but not to have at least a practice field to rake as this one skied over the left field into no man's land.
Coming in as the left.
Where he can't quite make the catches.
Watlington had it bounce out of his glove and so.
I'm assuming they're gonna score that as a hit because that was a tough play to make and the ball was in the air forever and just kind of hung up there and kind of in the triangle of defenders for the Blazers and the take a heck of a plane.
You see, the glove falls off for the left fielder and they do rule it.
A hit kind of question why Beck Jones is not on second base as he got the stare in that one thought might be a routine fly to left.
Either way he's on 1st with two outs.
So now Kyle Madden comes to the plate.
He's gonna be headed to Grayson Community College over in Denton TX, batting 406.
Three home runs, 45 RBI.
Now, letting the center fielder #13 see if Harrison can take advantage of that two out miscue by the Valley View defense, even though it's ruled a hit.
That's a a play.
You feel like you've gotta make and get yourself out of the inning.
First pitch is fouled back.
Logan Plumley is going to be on Deck 4 Harrison.
Boy, the wind is really calm down this game.
It was earlier in the day today between baseball and softball, that wind was whipping.
Here's the one swung on and missed the downward movement on that.
76 mph might have taken a little bit off and it really dove down and away from the left handed hitter.
O2's account 101st base for Harrison?
It's a fastball that misses outside.
Here's the one too.
Now throw down to 2nd and it sails on the shortstop.
The runner's going to hold back Jones is going to be in safely with the stolen base.
Talked about the number of stolen bases that Valley View has, Harrison giving them a little taste of their own medicine early on.
Drop fly ball stolen base.
Beck Jones is in scoring position.
SO22's account, we've got two outs here on the bottom of the first inning.
Barrel tip into the glove and that's gonna do it.
He recorded the strikeout to end the inning, so for Harrison.
No runs one hit one man left on we head to the top of the second inning with a scoreless ball game.

The stadium and everything for this 4A championship game as the Sun starts to set here in Benton.
Can you call the game from that camera angle the whole time?
Now?
It might be a little tough.
As up next for Valley View is gonna be Tyler Hoskins, the DH.
Hoskins on the year batting 312 with a home run in 22 RBI.
Fastball misses outside.
Where is the count of two and oh.
I guess that's kind of like our Goodyear blimp that they have at the Super Bowl, right?
Yeah.
And this is just as big, so I'm on in the gap.
Left side and that'll be a base hit for Valley views.
Tyler Hoskins.
Nice job to keep the hands inside for Hoskins.
Gets the barrel out in front.
Pulls that over to the left side.
Got himself a leadoff single.
So now Cooper Lutz, the first baseman comes to the blade batting 455 on the year with a home run and twenty RBI.
The only home run we've seen this weekend is out in the power alley.
Right, right, center.
We'll see if Lutz can get it up.
You get one out out one lipid high to left field, going back to the wall and it bounces off the walls just shy of the 355 mark, rounding third.
Going into score and Valley View, we're gonna have the first rule of all game.
It's an RBI double.
Per Cooper Lutz.
Knew the power is gonna be there he goes the opposite side and that one lands off the base of the wall in a great job of base.
Running by Tyler Hoskins, he holds up at second base to make sure the ball's not cop, but he didn't even let up and attempt to slow down as he rounded third and a little bit of a hesitation.
The relay throw from the outfield allows Hoskins to score easily and the Blazers have an early no lead.
So now Preston Watlington.
Shows bunt it's gonna gonna be a called strike with a curveball.
Seen a lot of breaking balls up in the zone.
You get the benefit of the call so far.
As long as that's consistent, these two teams can adjust to it, but again, that's really not where a pitcher wants to live with the offspeed stuff.
She was born again.
It's called strike again.
And that would a little lower in the zone.
But I like the idea, especially if you think they're gonna.
Try to lay down a bunt.
Something like tough to gauge always up in the zone.
It's just tougher to get down as a bunt.
O2 is a fastball up high at 82.
1/2's on the way, that's a fastball outside, even the count at 2 apiece on deck, is going to be Carter Salisbury.
Verbal ripped down the third baseline pair.
That'll score one run.
And it's gonna be another.
RBI double.
A great piece of hitting there by Watlington.
Get the hands inside and another hanging breaking ball and he knows what to do with it.
Just ropes it down the left field side run scoring double.
I was just outside the outstretched arms of the third baseman Watlington.
Excuse me.
A Wilson now leading right fielder, #7 Carter Salisbury.
Now Carter Salisbury comes to the plate.
He's a rightfielder today, batting 371 with two home runs and 30 RBI.
Fastball got that outside corner, 79 that's on one.
It's three straight base cents here in the second inning.
Single double double for defending 4A state champs.
Blow this game open in the early innings.
You know Bobby, look over this Valley View roster or lineup.
It just doesn't seem like there's a weak spot at any one through nine position.
All have great averages.
Lots of RBI's here's 01 curveballs up high.
The average eleven runs for game.
You gotta get production from up and down the lineup.
RJ and you know what's really impressive.
You just sit here and dive into the stats.
You know the strikeout numbers are pretty low, only struck out 166 times this season.
Stolen bases, or 60 more than that.
Here's the 11 Swan and mist and foul tipped in the glove, actually.
So what that does is when you, when you get a low swing and miss rate, a high stolen base percentage, you're always putting pressure on a defense.
Whether they have to make the routine play or try or the pitcher has to worry about a runner trying to swipe an extra 90 feet.
Pressure is always on asphalt outside.
s There's a lot of double 23 triples, 19 homers.
You're exactly right.
I mean that is just constant pressure.
And and the speed here.
I mean it, it's obviously affecting the Harrison pitching staff cause watlington's up there on second base and that really gonna go anywhere but the speed.
The possibility of scoring on a base into the outfield has got the picture preoccupied with the runner on 2nd instead of worrying about the header.
Here's the two two curveball popped up on the infield.
It's over.
At shortstop, where Barrett's got it and you were really in the first out here in the second.
It's a big needed out there.
Just get a little confidence back for your pitcher.
Trying to settle in and limit the damage here in the seconds Carson turn turtle's.
Gonna be up next batting 331.
Seventeen RBI's you know you and I were talking a moment ago about slight Caldwell.
I mentioned that he had 41 stolen bases this year and you kind of said it almost doesn't seem believable but with the pressure this team puts on you you almost can say well I could say that I guess.
He shows bond pulls it back and it's a ball.
11 players have 10 or more stolen bases for this Valley View team.
And I think the biggest thing though is you're and we've seen it in like the one a game we saw and we saw in the two a game.
That the emphasis of base running is at an all time high and and kids are learning, you know, the the value of base running at the Little League level right now and and keeping that pressure on think it's kind of changed the game a little bit in the in the fact that you're seeing teams play a little bit a little bit more small ball.
We had five months in the two a game earlier today and we talked about the lack of home runs that have that have been in this park.
You know, only three in the state championship games between last year and this year.
And of course we got the rest of this game.
Two more tomorrow, but you've got to change your game.
If the ball's not flying out of a given park, you've gotta change your game up as he wears that one another and 390 feet there.
It's just got to find ways, you know we get spoiled.
We watch high level college baseball in this state.
We launch, we watch Major League Baseball.
We're used to the routine play well in Little League.
Junior High high school.
The routine plays not routine, so you always want to keep constant pressure.
Make teams, make plays to get you out, and that starts with putting the bat on the baseball and just putting it in play.
So now Harrison is going to go out and looks like Matt Roden's going to walk out there and talk with Dylan Block his pitcher after he now has runners at 1st and 2nd and the 9 hole hitter Jackson Stotts is at the plate.
And I I don't think Bobby for for block it's a nervousness for A state championship.
I just, you know, some days you haven't.
Some days you don't.
He's also going up good team.
We've we've talked about how good the numbers are for Valley.
You got to give a lot of credit to the hitters.
You know he hung a breaking ball that was pulled to the left side.
Lutz gave it a ride to the left field wall.
Sometimes the offense wins and they've they've won more times than not this inning.
And now they got a little pressure on already at two across the plate and two on the ponds.
So Jackson Stotts batting 313 with 25 RBI steps into the box.
He'll show bunt.
Falls back.
So far, Dylan Block has thrown 28 pitches.
We're not even through the 2nd inning yet.
Here's the one that's buried in the turf and you've gone over the numbers for block the starting pitcher for Harrison.
Not a high strikeout pitcher.
You know.
35 strikeouts.
30 two walks, so he's got a guy that's going to rely on his defense.
Rely on hitters putting in the ball in play and against the Valley View team.
That's as talented as they are.
That could be a dangerous thing.
Here's a bunch of the third base side.
Great bunt, as everybody's going to be safe for that was.
Almost the picture perfect bunt down the third base side.
Deadened it right off the end of the bat, down the third baseline.
Early block and do nothing with it and it just eats.
That one.
Avoids an errant throw and now the bases are loaded for the top of the order for the Blazers.
That's just perfect execution by Stotts.
Now Slate Caldwell's gonna be on the plate.
As we talked about it, he had a single in the first, but comes in batting 511 with nine home runs and 46 RBI as their leadoff guy.
Fastball catches the outside corner for a strike.
Are you guys?
There's a chopper back at the box into the outfield for a base that one run comes in.
Two runs come in.
And runners will be at 1st and 3rd with an arm with the two RBI single.
What a great piece of hitting by Caldwell, who singled to start the contest and then sends that one right to back where it came from right up the middle drives in two and Valley View on the verge of already breaking this one open a four spot here in the second there's still 2 runners on.
The race, so now Jackson stocks is going to be a third base with Caldwell at 1st and now Grayson Becker's at the plate.
Now blocks can step off and just kind of look over, he knows.
Caldwell's going.
It's just when is he going to do it?
Yeah, you don't have 41 stolen bases by staying at first for more than a pitcher.
2.
There he goes.
There's a fastball and they're just gonna let him stand up at second base was making his.
47 stolen base.
Speed travels, and especially with planning an artificial surface like this.
Since he's they gunned him down in the 1st.
But now it's gonna take a a valiant effort by block to get out of the second inning by giving up just four.
01 the slider that swung on and missed, that's good.
Off speed pitch there?
Got Becker out in front and chased the slider.
One out here on the top of the second inning.
Fastballs up high.
Here's the one too swing on out to short.
One run will come in.
They get the out at first pace.
So Stotts will come in to score.
And that'll put Caldwell at third base.
And now with two outs here in the inning.
Lawson wards at the play.
That's called doing a job.
RJ just put the ball in play.
The defense was back giving up that runner from third.
And drives it to the middle part of the defense.
Or #5 across the plate.
Austin Ward struck out back in the first inning.
He'll see a slider to start things off here for a ball.
9th batter of the inning to come to the plate.
Curve balls left high, it's two, no.
Scoring runs is no stranger to Harrison, though we talked about they beat Huntsville 17 to 11 to reach the state championship game so they've got some pop in their bats.
This game far from over.
20 is a fastball outside which you see the frame job that time by Beck Jones trying to pull that thing in as quick as he could.
Yeah, this is a big batter here.
You want to get out of the inning.
Leave that runner in scoring position over a third and you certainly don't want Tyler Hoskins coming back to the plate.
There's a fastball inside.
It's four straight balls and OHS so we got the inside corner.
Warning through his bat.
He didn't like the call.
I mean I. I don't think it's terrible.
It's close.
So it's three and one.
Curveballs found back.
It's now three and two.
Who?
Who does it mess with more in them as a mindset, the pitcher or the batter whenever you start to head to first base after you think you got walked, I think it's the matter I mean cause because you already think that you've earned the walk and you can kind of decompress mentally.
Now you've got to get locked back in and that Tommy thousand straight back.
So now he's a a pitch away from getting struck out on when he thought he earned a free pass.
Here's the three two fastball.
Strike three.
And he knew anything that was going to be close.
There was probably going to get rung up.
You know?
I'm not saying the umpire was thought he was being shown up, didn't?
I'm not gonna say that Ward was just trying to do that, but got to swing when it's close at 324 Valley View, they scratch across five runs in the inning on five base hits.
They strand one and we head to the bottom of the second inning, where the Blazers they lead 5 nothing.
And you're watching the Centennial Bank State baseball championships.
An Arkansas PBS sports.

You can have Prince Mades great championship keepsakes.
Shots of the championship games being played a bit in here this weekend.
So we head to the bottom of the second inning where the sun is slowly starting to set here at Everett Field and up 4 Harrison will be the 567 hitters in Logan Plumley, Timber Crenwelge and Brody Gilliam.
Back on the mound for Valley View is will be Eli Creselious.
Chris Cellius in that first inning had two strikeouts.
He did give up a hit.
But work fairly quickly.
He's only had 19.
The pitch is thrown so far in the ball game and now he can really settle in with the five.
Nothing lead as an offense that's great, but as a pitcher you don't have to worry about.
You know painting the corners anymore.
You can you know, risk something over the heart of a plate a little more often, especially if you're in fall behind in the count along ball.
Generally not going to beat you in this park so you can be a lot more aggressive as a pitcher.
First pitch to Plumley is a called strike at the knees, pump plumley's batting 275 this year with 22 RBI.
That's swatted foul.
Now for Harrison, you just have to start to chip away.
There are no five run home runs no matter what they tell you.
Yeah, so you've gotta just find ways to start chipping away at this leave.
There's a lot of game left in this contest, so to start, chip away, get it, run here, pair there, inch your way back into the ball game.
God.
My Cubs might win a few more games if there were five run homers.
That's about the only thing that would help them.
There's 1-2 fastball misses inside.
Can't say much.
My Rangers we have.
The highest paid roster in baseball, and.
Sit next to last.
Here's the two two swung on out.
The short slow roller.
There's a quick throw and A tag he's out.
It's a great job by Valley views.
First baseman has to come off the bag and and make the play.
And Cooper Lutz elevates for the for the catch.
And then it has the wherewithal to and the body control to get the tag on the plumbline before he gets the foot on the bag.
Timber crenwelge maybe got A tag.
Yeah, you got him on the back right there.
Batting 346 with 19 RBI.
Fastball misses inside.
His fastball is getting better as he goes right now that was at 81.
We saw both of these teams take infield really early.
They sat around for about 15 minutes, so not surprising to take a few more minutes to to get back the top velocity.
After you, you warm up and then all of a sudden you sit down and cool off.
Even though it's pretty warm here in Benton tonight.
Take 1520 minutes off.
It's gonna take you a little while to get the muscles loose again.
2 balls, no strikes.
Fastball and they're called to strike at the knees.
You'd think somebody would have told him not to warm up so early you think so, or they were.
Sometimes there's a little too amped up.
Yeah, I know it, you know.
And here's the thing.
Like 2 ones on the way and it gets past the catcher.
You know, I don't care how many times you you go and tell somebody.
Here's the times or or how many times you ask for stats.
Yeah, the focus is one thing and when you step on the field and it's game time you forget well what time did they tell me to to do pregame?
You're exactly right, and you know you see one team.
They get.
They take the field a few minutes early, then they get done.
You know earlier than they're supposed to.
You take the field and instead of being done right at 7:00 o'clock, you're done at 6:45.
Fastball, misses low, and that'll be a walk to crenwelge.
And now Brody Gill on the right field will be at the plane batting 356 on the year with 14 RBI.
And now we're going to have.
A chat on the mound.
I think this is just going to have the conversation with Chris.
Priscilla has to say, hey, you've got a 5 nothing lead settle in just throw strikes, make them beat you.
He's trying to overthrow that to crenwelge.
Lower no knees in for that.
So how soccer been doing today?
Good Harding Academy.
So up to three a state championships.
Searcy girls posted A1 nothing win.
The 5A championship.
And then the very first game, Valley View's been here a long time today.
10:00 AM this morning, the Valley View Bureau Earls fell to Pulaski Academy, two to nothing.
Valley View.
This is their third state championship of the day.
Of course, different players soccer girls fell, softball took down Nashville.
Really good contest 2 to one.
Right before this one.
Now the boys trying to double dip for 4A titles.
So would you say that Valley View is kind of title town?
Well they came close and that one's going to punk Brody Gilliam.
I guess titletown would.
They they'd have to win this one.
Yeah, you know they fell in soccer, you know?
Harding Academies won a pair this weekend.
Taylor swept the one a championships are living today.
Baseball softball.
Bentonville had a chance to sweep the Bentonville Softball Championships.
The Conways baseball team, thought of other things, yeah.
That was a guy that was a fun game to call that 6A championship.
Tristan Thompson's at the plate.
He's the DH today, banning 218 with five RBI.
Fastballs can be long.
And we got two more good ones on deck for tomorrow.
Yeah, hopefully the weather holds off throughout the day.
I know that's.
You don't really bring up weather when you start talking baseball, but.
Forecast calls for a little bit of rain tomorrow afternoon.
You might scoff at the idea of playing baseball on artificial grass, but you'll love the idea tomorrow, I know, yeah.
Going out of the tarp.
But you know it, Major League Baseball or college.
The best videos are when, like there's tarp catastrophes in the rogue tarp you know.
On ones on the way.
Curveball slap foul.
Yeah, let's hope we can get the the title games in tomorrow.
Eight more championships on the line.
Yeah baseball, softball soccer.
I guess I've never thought about it that you have turf.
Can you play in rain as long as there's no lightning?
As long as there's not torrential?
Yeah, you know.
Last year you remember Van Buren and Jonesboro, yeah, what we're playing in the championship game and they stopped the game for a little bit because it got the running so hard.
But they played I'd say an inning, maybe anything in half was it was a steady rain but not a torrential downpour.
So now we've got to throw down players, left the bag and now we've got a rundown.
Between.
First and second, they say the first and the ones gonna come into school.
I believe the baserunners kind of got a little confused because.
The batter, Tristan Thompson, the catcher dropped the ball he took off running.
Everybody else started running and it was just a little bit of mass chaos there for a minute.
Yeah, as a catcher you just have to realize that first space was occupied and you don't make the throw down to first base because that started the the crazy rundown.
And also you don't get the tag down and another run comes across the score.
Excuse me, the run comes across the score for Harrison's big break for the goblins, so they got to run on the board.
They've got a runner at first base and now the 9 hole hitter.
Jared Wilson's.
The plate.
With two outs.
And he's batting 284 in the year with 16 RBI.
Fastball and they're called a strike.
I like the I like the old school look here.
It's got the old school Franklin batting glove.
Just the one.
Yeah, it's on on the bottom hand.
It's just that old gutsy look.
That fastball misses low.
Pitch count for Chriselle is starting to get up there a little bit.
I mean, I say that for two innings he's thrown 36 pitches.
You try to stay 15 or below for an ending.
You call that efficient.
Curve balls outside.
This hasn't been as aggressive here in the second, with a 5 nothing lead as he was in the opening frame.
There's a large gap between center field and left field.
They're kind of shading towards the right field line.
There's a lot of line down the left field line as well.
A lot of space shading him over towards that direction as you mentioned.
Here's the gap RJ talked about.
Some of that has to do with the speed of the Valley View defense.
But you put one in the in the power alley there and left.
You can run for a while.
You know I was talking with Mark Balesteri, the Benton head baseball coach, and I said, is your is your outfielder bigger, bigger than most fields as the curveballs in there for a strike.
As three and two and he said, well he said, not really he goes.
What makes it deceiving is how much foul territory you've got at the at the field.
He said it makes it look huge because you just see green all the way across.
Yeah, I mean you you think about how a baseball field is lined up because the bases have to be where they are the foul lines.
Go all the way.
There's a line out to second base and that's gonna do it for the inning, and so your field dimensions really have to be pretty uniform.
You can make some some undulations and A and the spacing of the walls, but this looks like there's a lot of space out there.
Well for Harris, if they get one run in the inning.
On one base hit, we head to the top of the third inning, where the Blazers lead the goblins 5 to one.

You know, I've I've gone three games so far without anybody making shots like that.
It's good to have you back Bobby, yeah, good to be back so Valley View is gonna have their 456 hitters due back with Tyler Hoskins, Cooper Lunson, Preston Washington.
Hoskins back in the second inning.
Got on with a single to left field.
You'll see a slaughter falling there for a strike.
There's a check swing and they're gonna say it's strike too.
Some really good pitches to start to get back to the cleanup hitter.
Here's the O2 pitch strike three.
Thought it looking and Hoskins knew it.
Nice job to paint the fastball right on the outside corner.
The third strike out of the contest.
So Cooper Lutz, now the first baseman.
#2 Cooper lights is gonna be up.
He had a double back to left field that that's that shot to left center.
Earlier is an RBI double.
And you'll see a curveball in there.
First try.
Well, it really seems like.
Dylan Bloch has got a little bit of confidence going right now after that.
Last thing that he saw, five runs across the plate.
Fastball called a strike that's going too else we've got a amphibious umpire.
Of course a kid, and they had extra Sunfire.
He's calling strikes with both hands left handed matter.
He's calling strikes for the left hand.
Here's the O2 fastball swag.
I was in at 81.
High and tight cheese lots.
Couldn't catch up with it.
Kind of pitching with an attitude right now.
I mean he.
Or now handing 3rd baseman #29% could get his hands inside there.
He knows he needs a couple shutdown innings if he wants his offense to have a chance to get back into it, he's gotta go and throw up some goose eggs.
There's a curveball first, right?
01 basketball chopped to the third baseman.
He'll pick it up, make the long throw and they get the out really effective, efficient ending there.
53 on the put out.
Valley View goes 123 and the third we head to the bottom of the third inning.
The goblins are up as you're watching the Centennial Bank State baseball championships in Arkansas.
PBS sports.
Sports is so important to this state and the fabric of the state, and I appreciate Arkansas.

Well, every year we recognize outstanding Arkansas student athletes who made a mark in the classroom as well as on the field and in the foray division.
We are spotlighting Colton Reynolds and look at that Bobby three point, eight GPS plays centerfield, third base catcher.
I mean pitcher.
He does it all and he's signed to play with Allen County Community College in Kansas, majoring in sports management.
Congratulations Colton Reynolds.
As you are outstanding student athlete in class four A.
A lot of positions to play, yeah, I mean, that's that's to do it all player right there, wrote down utility player and saved yourself some characters.
So Harrison's up now as though they're back to the top of the line up with, Sloan Barrett, Dylan Block, and Beck Jones.
They're 123 hit him.
And Barrett's going to take a foul on the first pitch from Criscillis.
There's the one up top one in one.
I feel like this is a big inning for Harrison started to climb back the last inning.
Got one of those five runs back.
Top of the order coming up here in the third the second time to see the starting pitcher creselious put some good swings on it.
Try to inch back into the contest even further.
And that's a call ball.
You too and you know one thing with the sun going down.
You don't have to worry about that sun.
You know getting any raise the sunlight in your in your eyes.
Not that it was directly in their eyes at all, but you're playing a night game.
See the ball a little bit better holds up top three and two.
I always seem to play better at night than I did during the day.
Do you think that was easier to see the baseball?
I think it was.
You know?
Well, for one, my eyes are sensitive to sunlight anyways and so I always kind of like the the night time games.
Here's a walk.
I just figured you're a superstar.
Lights come on, you polo better you superstar look very, very lightly.
Dylan Block is up next.
He lined out to right field back in the 1st.
I don't know, though I sometimes it's just a comfort level.
Yeah, we played some some day games in college football.
We played some night games.
I always enjoyed playing night games.
Your routines more normal and we have to get up at 6:00 AM to go have team meal for a noon kickoff.
It's not very conducive to your style so these guys you know the 7:05 first pitch they're used to playing the 4:00 or 4:30 in the afternoon so it gets him out of the routine as well.
Not used to eating you're Lucky Charms as your pregame meal.
More of a Captain Crunch man, but points taken.
So Dylan Block is up.
The runner at first base.
Basketball misses outside want to know?
Crowd didn't like that one, but the Valley View backstop was set up over there.
Hit the hit this spot, but he was well off the plate.
You see it there.
He caught that in the left handed batters box.
One ball, no strikes.
Kerbals up top.
That's two, and oh, it's almost just seems like after that first inning retired, three of the four he, Facebook criscillis.
This doesn't look comfortable.
And you think that having a lead and you have a little bit more of a comfort factor to?
To to just throw your pitches and and throw strikes as that one found out of play.
That's the pitch you wanted.
Block knows he missed his opportunity, 20 had a fastball.
He was looking dead red and he was just out in front and got underneath it.
Underway here in the third inning, two ones, a curveball swell on driven the left centerfield.
He gave that one ride.
That's all the way back to the warning track and wall rounding third base and holding up there.
And it's a double for Dylan Block.
The amount of missed the previous pitch RJ but Dylan Block did not miss that one gave that one a ride to the three fifty five.
Sign out in left center field and bounces off the wall.
The runner had the check up, that's why you didn't score all the way from first.
Had to make sure that ball wasn't gonna be caught, but two in scoring position now and nobody out here in the third.
Tell you, Sloan Barrett.
He was like he was sitting there, waiting, waiting, waiting and he turned on.
The afterburners went halfway and.
He was kind of kicking himself.
They didn't take off a little bit sooner, but.
It just takes that one catch and then you get halfway to 3rd.
You gotta, that's right barrel back so now Beck Jones is at the play.
He had a single to left field back in the first inning.
And that'll be a called strike on the inner half of the plate.
Ads popped up on the infield.
Right behind second base and the 2nd baseman Turley's gonna come in and make the catch.
That's a big out there for Criscillis to give up the walk and then the double able to bounce back into 3 hole hitter to pop it straight up to shoot.
Now many similar number 13 signed Malcolm.
Matt comes to the plate.
He struck out back in the first inning.
Basketball is gonna miss outside.
On deck will be Logan Plumley.
Five the ones our score is.
Valley View put up a five spot back in the second inning.
There's a strike at the belt, one and one.
I'm playing Madden essentially straight up.
That fastball misses outside now two in one.
3rd baseman the Washington Plan about even with the bag.
So a chopper to him.
He may look the runner back.
They're going to concede the run if he hits the ball over to the right side.
Here's the two one basketball that caught the outside corner.
It's two and two.
2/2 is slap foul.
No, I was looking at right behind the batting cages over here.
There's a big wooded area, how many baseballs they lose over there to foul balls.
It's deep too.
Don't lose me to the home runs, but there's plenty of plenty of real estate to move on.
The foul ball 22 there's three two now.
See all those woods back there tunnel?
I bet you there's a lot of baseball back there big.
That's gonna play with something for baseball.
Here's the three two swung on, chopped out to short it.
Tough.
Play.
The third baseman comes up with it.
Runner scores.
They get in at first.
It's five to two now, but there's two outs.
Another Bang Bang Blay at first.
Nice strong throw.
It's the second out of the inning, but the run does come across the score.
So block will head to third base.
Barely scored really.
53 on the put out.
If you're scoring at home and there's 2 ounces, Plumley comes to the plate.
He's close playing first.
Todd does not go to the right of there two down.
Here is the one O that's popped up on the infield first baseman Lutz he's calling for it, and he'll get it for the third out.
So for Harrison they score one run off of one base hit.
We head to the top of the fourth inning, where the Blazers lead the goblins five to two in the four A state championship game you're watching the Centennial Bank State baseball Championships and Arkansas PBS sports.

So Valley View is back to the plate as they'll send their 789 hitters to the plate with Carter, Salisbury, Carson Turley and Jackson Stotts.
And back on the mound for Harrison is Dylan Block.
As we start at the top of the fourth inning, where Valley View leads at five to two in the four way state championship game.
That first pitch was a slider outside, swung on and missed and block really settled in on that last inning, only 7 pitches needed to get out of the third.
He's retired the last five batters he's faced.
01 is another slider in there for a strike.
Blocks working really quick.
That's you, know.
Earlier in the ball game he had a little bit more deliberate.
It just kind of eye things down now he just gets the ball and throws them.
1/2 is a fastball in there.
Inside called the ball.
Here's the one too.
That's a slider ripped out the left field and the left fielder killed.
Ruggy makes the catch, and it's the first out.
Bobby had somebody tweet me a little bit girl reminder if you wanna tweet myself it's at RJ Hawk Bobby where are you at?
Bobby swofford.
It's complicated.
Yeah really easy but somebody tweeted me a little bit ago.
Asked why the mound looks the way it does.
Looks like it's got a an artificial mound right where the pitcher steps.
And and you were telling because I asked you before the game, it's like a it's a replacement piece.
Yeah?
So it's artificial turf and you see the metal spikes there so they get the fake grass.
Can't take the wear and tear and so that that piece is actually replaceable.
If we ever get a shot of where the umpire and the catcher stand, that piece is also replaceable.
Carson Turley at the plate and first pitch with the ball, as well as the 2nd.
And so so that that's a course where the players sent the most.
And so the lot more wear and tear on the on those positions.
You can see the seam of it there.
So instead of having to replace the entire amount or the entire section around home plate, you can just replace that little patch of land.
Here's the two oh pitch.
It's high, it's three.
And Oh yeah, I asked the same question prior to the game.
It's saying smart, really.
If you think about it, rather than, you know, having to replace that entire fake area, it's really noticeable at softball too.
From the the pitching rubber to the front of the circle is an entire replaceable mat.
There's a three O misses outside.
No, they're going to call the strong, because, of course.
Well, pitching deliveries are different, so you've got to essentially replace the entire section of.
It is a little elevated there you can see it, and that's about the only place that you a bad hop on the ground ball minaker.
Here's the three one that's strike two.
Again, so it's like Velcro.
You just rip it up and put a new piece down.
Yeah, it's pretty cool.
Makes a lot of sense.
It really does.
Here's the three two pitch swung on and fouled off.
You know, as as a team that would that would play here on a consistent basis, you probably don't use the rubber.
The metal spikes you probably stick with the rubber cause you not to worry about the dirt.
But for teams who don't necessarily always play on turf like Harrison 3/2 in there called Strike Three.
Pitch there on on the paint, but for a team like Harrison that routinely plays on dirt, you don't change the spikes.
You got the metal spikes here and playing on the artificial surface.
How are you Mr. Shop #1 Jackson Scotts?
Shut up a little bit if you have one.
Come come back right at you.
I mean, there's not much you can do about it, but yeah, you can see that the edge of it.
A little afraid there.
Here's a nice fastball, more of a cut fastball in there for a strike.
Here's the old one.
One on the left field got that gap in between short and 3rd, and so Stotts has a base hit.
Starts US 2 for two.
You had the perfectly executed bunts back in the second inning, and that time, as you just mentioned, RJ finds the hole on the left side.
Trying to start a two out rally for the Blazers.
Now batting in the center fielder #24, Slade Caldwell so slight Caldwell comes to the plate.
He's got a 2 for two day.
Two outs here in the top of the fourth inning, with Valley View leading five to two.
That's a nice curveball in there.
Called a strike.
Took a little more off of that.
You can see the block when he wants to to really get the vendor that will fall off the the edge of the table.
A little action going in the Valley View bullpen.
You can see in the background of that shot.
No throwback over to 1st.
Here's the one that's a chopper out to short third baseball.
Cut it off, he boots it and the runners around.
Second they throw back and he's safe boy, that could have been a bad situation that starts thought there was nobody on 3rd he took a big turn.
After the ball was booted by the 3rd baseman, but instead he has to slam on the brakes able to get back and avoid the tag.
With a ruled, an infield single would have been a tough play by the 3rd baseman.
So that makes Slate Caldwell 3 for three on the day, and now Grayson Backer comes to the plane and he's over two with an RBI.
Our balls high.
Here's the one O pitch that's swung on and right at the third baseman Jared Wilson.
And so Valley View threatened that time but didn't scratch anything across as they got two base hits left.
Two runners on.
And we head to the bottom of the fourth inning, where Valley View leads Harrison five to two.

You know, you think of the small communities all over Arkansas.
It's a big deal that they can turn on the TV or DVR or whatever, and they're going to get the quality product.

Well, Harrison will be back in the box and they will have their 678 hitters do up as timber print Weldy with Brody Gilliam and Tristan Thompson.
Timber.
What the heck of a first?
I've never think I've ever seen a timber before.
You look a few years ago, this has been really going to test the knowledge there was a a timber softball and volleyball player from Bentonville showing on the play at Arkansas Tech, really.
Getting creative with names these days.
I like it.
I mean it's killing me and I can't think of her last name.
But I always remember her first name was timber.
I ohh interesting.
I've heard of a forest.
As the first pitch to Mr. Crenwelge goes back to the backstop.
You know I was gonna name my kid Baylor.
So my kids name's Austin, right was we were gonna name it Baylor as the one O swung on fouled back.
And.
The wife was like we have no connection to Baylor like I didn't go to school there I was like it's just kind of a cool name, you know, and then we'd have to always answer the question like.
Did you go to school there?
No.
So I wonder what like what questions they get when.
People ask about timber as that was looked into center field for a base hit.
Rounding first was Crenwelge and he'll be in with a stand up single over at first base.
He's had a really good day.
It walked and scored.
Now we had a leadoff single.
So now Brody Gilliam comes up.
He was hit by a pitch back in the second inning.
Black God first pitch is a fastball low.
No wonder I should have before the game and gone and asked to see one of those wristbands to see what's on it.
Like you know.
You're in football, you say blue 27 sweep, right?
Yeah, I mean honcho yeah offensively it could be, you know, a hit and run or delayed steel or an automatic take.
Yeah and all those things that the you know, the third base coach used to go through, touch his hat, rub his thigh, you don't flip his hat around like are you.
Are you just giving like why like either hand is like a one and a five and then you look at the combo and the card?
No I mean well some teams will do a color and and a number some teams will do a 3 digit number and it kind of.
Series here's the two old curve ball up high and the key to prevent of course signal stealing is what you'll do is you'll have multiple things that are the the exact same signal, so 128 might be the same thing as 347.
So when I was playing ball the the indicator was if he went to his shoulder.
Yeah he touched his.
If he touched his right shoulder that was indicated.
So I mean the one thing that they the wristbands do is it does speed it up so that the third base coach doesn't have to go through the entire thing of signals to try to prevent the other team from stealing said signal makes sense so it does speed up 4 seconds per pitch, give or take.
You always had that kid as here's a walk to Brody Gilliam.
He gets back to back free passes, got hit the first time now walk.
You always had that kid though that couldn't ever remember the signs so we always had.
He always called time to go down and talk to coach.
He always had that one.
Well, that takes away that the wristbands yeah so and I think that's gonna do it for corsellis.
Yeah Corsellis is gonna hand the ball over and we'll have the new pitcher after this.
We'll get all the stats and everything on him as you're watching the Centennial Bank State baseball championships in Arkansas.

PBS are available with passport on the PBS video app.
Sun is really starting to set here in Benton for the 4A Championship game with new picture on the mountain for Valley View.
Is Cason Becker big tall kid for Valley View and.
It's usually excuse me.
No, it's actually Preston Watlington.
Who's up there in Wallington?
Thought that was that set of 20, but it's actually 29.
He's pitched 26 and 2/3 innings this year.
He's been in 10 games, started five, has a win loss record of three and two with a 3.93 ERA.
He said 24 strikes this year and 15 walks and that is your new picture for Valley View.
So Preston Watlington's gonna stay in the lineup if he's having a really good day and.
Let's see who's playing third base.
So it looks like wadlington ready to rock and roll.
As Tristan Thompson is gonna be at the plate.
For Harrison's really big opportunity here for the goblins, you've chased the starting pitcher.
You've got runners on 1st and 2nd.
Nobody out have to be able to scratch across a run here.
Pick move goes back to second without a throne.
Might be a prime opportunity to lay down a sacrifice bunt too and try to get 2 runners into scoring position.
That's kind of what that pick moves about to see if Thompson tipped his cabin is going to turn around and score the bunt.
And he is gonna bunt right back at the pitcher and looked at second.
He'll throw to 1st to get the out.
That's how you do it.
RJ that is perfect execution.
They know you're gonna burn it and you still able to get down to a perfect sacrifice.
So a sacrifice bunt for Tristan Thompson that'll bring up Jared Wilson now.
But it will move crenwelge to third base and Gilliam the 2nd 22.
That's not gonna be the headline of the newspaper or make the highlights of the TV news tonight, but Tristan Thompson did exactly what his team needed to do right there.
Here's the first pitch.
It's a fastball outside.
Mr. Wilson needs a new rap on the bat.
So here's the foul back one in one.
One in one.
Not like some.
Certainly more methodical as he gets the signal in from the book the dugout.
Curveball in there.
Called a strike.
One ball 2 strikes with.
One out here in the 4th inning.
It's outside.
Here's the two two fastball.
This is Logan outside.
It's a big sequence right here for both sides.
552 lead Harrison.
Need some contact here.
Here's the three two curveball up high and we've got bases loaded.
Bases loaded and only one hit.
It's not a recipe for success in a championship game or any game.
So that'll be our wedding Baron to the plane's number, one song, Barrett.
And Barrett scored back in the third inning struck out in the first.
We've mentioned at a time or two RJ the top of the order has got to be what produces for Harrison.
They're gonna get the opportunity here.
Just one down.
Fastball in there called the strike bases are sacked full of goblins.
The scary thought.
Valley View scored that five runs in the second inning.
Harrison has scored a run of piece.
In both the 2nd and the third, ball gets away.
They're gonna try to score here.
And they do.
Green Weldy comes in to score.
And it's now five to three.
It's got to be so frustrating as a coach to watch a team put a run on the board and they have one hit two walks and a wild pitch.
We talked about how Valley View likes to put pressure on the other team.
Well now, Harrison's putting pressure on Valley View just to make the routine pitch make the routine plays.
And right now they're not getting it done.
It's allowing them goblins to chip away at the lead.
One ones outside.
You know, we we've talked so much about the turf.
It was it was entering.
I was waiting to see how far out he he started his slide to get in there.
I mean he was he was not even at the circle yet as the curveballs in there called a strike.
Yeah I haven't talked with coaches or players but I would say generally you've got to start your slide at three feet early.
Yeah, how many times have we seen it?
Especially last year when teams weren't used to playing on the turf as much.
And now we've actually seen teams practice on it.
They would override the bag by a full body length.
We're talking with Benton head baseball coach Mark Ballast area earlier as curveball swung on and lifted.
High in the center field.
Right center field is it's fading over.
He lost it in the right.
It falls one run scores.
Here comes the second no hold up at 3rd.
It's a one run game.
He lost in the lights and it fell down back to his left, and so that will put Wilson at third base.
And.
Barrett Sloan will be at second base.
I'm gonna call that a base hit because I mean you can't really call it an error from for losing it, right?
RBI double.
And you see it there, it's right without the left the bat.
He kind of put his hands up.
I thought he might be trying to be kind of psyched out the runner a little bit, but he lost it in the lights you mentioned, you know the the the sun setting and the lights are now on here at the Benton Athletic Complex and things have gotten very, very interesting between Valley View and Harrison Dylan blocks at the plate and he ripped him a lot for a base hit.
We've got a tie ball game.
What is it first and third?
And block comes up big with a line drive to left field.
Helping his own cause the pitcher for the goblins is ropes.
The first pitches he sees to the left field and the Harrison offense starting to feel it's three runs across and the damage is not done.
So the.
Gobblers have put up a three spot here in the 4th inning to tie the ball game at 5 apiece and now Bette Jones comes up.
Jones got a single back in the first inning.
Now we've got time at the plate by Jones.
And you know, you said Bobby at the beginning of this inning that you felt like this could be a big inning for Harrison just based on the way they've produced in the last two innings that has.
Change up no, they're gonna gonna call that a strike at the belt.
Anytime you can chase the starting pitcher, no matter if it's the first inning, the 4th inning, the 7th inning.
Anytime you can get to the bullpen you like your chances.
And when Harrison forced the the starting pitcher Criscillis out of the game, you really thought that's when they're having a chance to really get to the bullpen, and they've certainly done so here in the 4th.
He's gonna show bunt how?
But there's going to step off.
Wallington.
Look over in his dugout to get a sign from his head coach I see is Valley View brings the corner infielders in because they show **** here trying to prevent the safety squeeze or maybe even the suicide squeeze.
You don't think the three hole bigger hitter Jones would turn around a button too many times.
But even if he did, I mean you've got con Madden sitting right behind him who he's not had a great day today.
But coming in, he's batting 406.
Here's the one curveball they're gonna throw back to first.
And he'll just have second base with the stolen base.
That looked like the old softball player.
There has blocked this kind of got halfway between first and second.
Stop trying to try to coerce the throw to 2nd which would allow the runner from 3rd to try to scamper home.
But Valley View doesn't fall for it.
Now the goblins have two in scoring position runners at 2nd and 3rd is Beck.
Jones has two strikes.
There's one out here in the 4th inning.
That's swung on, chopped out the short.
It'll bring in a run.
They get the out at 1st and the goblins have taken the lead.
It's a good piece of hitting there by Beck Jones.
Again, not the flashiest play, but just puts the barrel on the ball and drives into the middle of the infield, gets himself an RBI, and the Harrison's got their first lead in the contest.
So now there's two outs in the inning.
As kind Matt comes up and he's owned for two on the day.
Basketball gonna be called a strike.
The picture watlington's having a good time messing with the the Harrison bench and slashed a few odd looks over that way.
Here's the 01 curveball looked in the left field.
That'll be down for a base.
Hit.
Another run scores.
The good piece of hitting there it is flipped the bat out there and let the barrel do the rest and a huge inning continues for the goblins.
Harrison now has put up five runs here in the 4th inning to take a 7 to 5 lead and now Logan Plumley comes to the plate.
He's the 9th batter of the inning.
Only on the day is over for two.
And that is low and outside the ball.
And they kind of zoomed in on the the jersey of Plumley there and hopefully don't do it too many times cause the goblin by far top three creepiest logos in the state of Arkansas.
Those eyes will Pierce your soul.
Here's the 10 swan and found back.
Well, you know.
I was looking at the little logo that we have in the lower third over here of the goblin.
Yeah, it's like the the goblin has a mullet.
Yeah, that's just announced.
A hairstyle?
I mean, I just I just noticed it.
You know, I I like that it's unique.
No, it's very unique and it's it's terrifying.
Here's the one one.
Now throw down to first because that was the ball.
I just know I I didn't know the goblins had hair.
That one ohh no, but I've watched movies.
The Hobbit counts.
2 balls one strike.
Here's a curveball.
Now throw down to 2nd and they got him.
Got in trying to steal 2/6 on the put out and that's three outs in the inning.
But not until Harrison puts up a five spot here in the fourth five runs on three base hits, they strand one.
We head to the top of the fifth inning, where Harrison now leads at 7:00 to 5:00 in the four A state championship game.

What do you what those two folks right there on the SCAP one, there's so much happier right now than what they were the first game because that will show wind was howling and I give me a shout out earlier just because the fact that they were up there battling no holding on to the railing.
Make sure they didn't get blown over well, not only the wind, just the sun beating down.
Yeah, we're those the same two guys that were in softball that were trying to hold on to the umbrella.
That was fine.
I'm not sure about tipping the cap for the entire crew.
For Arkansas PBS they have.
They had a lot of blood, sweat and tears literally this week, and they're not done.
They'll be back tomorrow.
So back at it here in the top of the fifth inning where Harrison leads seven to five and do up for Valley View, you've got Lawson Ward, Tyler Hoskins, and Cooper Lutz the 345 hitters as the first pitch is a ball.
Not one sermon and missed one and one.
It's a big hack there.
Trying to get one of those runs back in one swing.
Here's the 11 slider out to short and it's scooped up a high throw, but pulled in that time.
As Sloan Barrett was able to get it over to Garen Crockett for the first out, he had to go up the ladder.
Elevate he's every inch of his friend to bring that one down.
Skin.
So Tyler Hoskins is the DH and he got a base hit to left field back in the second, then struck out in the third.
And that's when we call to strike a nice slider and it's on one.
Once you get out of that, that rough second inning, you couldn't really see that Dylan Block has settled in and come more comfortable.
Here on this stage, and he's dealing.
So it's one and one now.
Here's the pitch that's swung on and found out of play.
1/2's account that is a slider.
Make it 2 and two.
On deck is Cooper Lutz.
Curveball ripped into center field.
Making a nice catch in center field was kind Madden.
He had to kind of make a hit, he underplayed it has made a jumping catch to to get that one and see out.
Yep, his athleticism and helped him adjust to that one but he definitely took the wrong angle to it but able to to adjust on the fly and just stab it with the glove and make the plague at the second out of the inning.
What's this play?
Just nice over the head catch and Lutz is at the plate now after having a double back in the second inning, RBI double and struck out in the third.
That is a pitch that's outside and it's one to know.
Here's the one offering Swan and found out of play.
One one is a slider that caught the outside corner.
It's one and two.
Just want to be a big big one through 3 innings for Harrison to get that offense back on the field and keep the momentum rolling.
And the one two came in a little high and died.
Let's get out of the way of it now.
Two and two.
Here's the two two by block that's swung on chopped high over the pitchers mound.
Second baseman's got it throws to 1st.
Nice job by Plumlee.
And that's gonna do it for Valley View in the 5th 123 they go, we head to the bottom of the fifth inning, where the goblins they lead at.
7 to 5 you're watching this Centennial Bank State Baseball championships on Arkansas.

Bottom of the fifth inning, where the goblins lead Valley View 7 to 5.
Harrison has scored in every inning from the second inning, second, third and 4th.
We're going to add more on here in the 5th.
As do up 4 Harrison, it'll be Logan Plumley.
Timber Crenwelge and Brody Gilliam.
The 567 hitters and the bottom half of the orders done a lot of the damage for Harris when you look at it.
Greenwaldt been on base a couple times, scored a pair of runs and gillum's been on base twice.
Getting production from the bottom half is making life easier for one through 4.
You got a new picture in the ball game.
As 4 Valley View.
Slade Caldwell.
It's gonna be Slade Caldwell.
So for Caldwell.
He's pitched 39 innings this year.
And has an ERA of 3.02.
With 58 strikeouts and there's a fastball that goes high.
It's one in one.
Left it it called.
Well, we've talked about how good he is on the base pass, but now he's gotta try to limit the damage for Harrison.
Trying to give his offense chance to get back into this contest.
11's on the way that's swung on and missed.
He's pumping that fastball at 81 miles an hour.
You know, you don't really think about it and you got to remember the high school baseball 7 inning game so Valley knows they're running out of chances.
Here's the one two pitch.
What's up high at 82?
I guess the diamond hogs are playing right now, aren't they against Alabama?
They are having four to one lead, according to the Twittersphere 1 yesterday.
Here's the 22.
And swim on it.
Best boy, he just using that fastball isn't.
That's a good one.
8182 a big strikeout to start the 5th.
If it's all now letting left here, they remember recording line through their graveyards in their regional saw that they got an organ next, right?
I believe so.
Yeah, timber criminal cruelty is at the plate.
He's scored twice today, walked once and had a single left center field.
Yeah, the winner of Oregon, Wichita State and haven't seen what happened to that contest.
Was up high.
It's one, you know.
That softball team for the Razorbacks has a chance to think they've got a chance to go to Oklahoma City as well as well as they're playing right now.
Yeah, they're as good as anybody not named Oklahoma, that's for sure.
No.
And that brings the counts to, you know we were talking on the radio the other day about.
You know Oklahoma is essentially kind of like the UConn of women's basketball.
Yeah, and then they go and lose.
The other night.
I think it was Oklahoma State that beat him and had some buddies going.
So he told you the hogs could beat them.
We think it happens.
They've got two losses this year now, so they're only like 49 and two.
Here's the two phone call to strike.
But Arkansas is really good.
It's amazing what they've done in softball turning that program.
You know, Courtney Deifel when she got there, they won like two games?
Yeah, one conference game, one conference victory, her first year.
Here's the two one that's swung on popped up.
Right field.
Coming over to make the catch is Salisbury and there's now 2 outs.
And really, for the diamond hogs.
They are.
They ruined it.
Vanderbilt, yeah, it's it's.
It's weird because you know they win.
Yesterday they actually moved down in the RPI and you know, I you read the stories and you hear people talking on television and the radio, you know that a team that's ranked in the top ten in the country and every poll may not be even host a regional because of their RPI and thinking that's crazy, but you got to, you got to win meaningful games, winning games, you know anymore at the college level doesn't mean anything.
You have to win meaningful games, meaning Rd games.
Here's the one that's slapped.
In the right field by Gilliam.
And once again, Salisbury is there to make the catch and retire the inning so Harrison goes 123 and the 5th we head to the top of the sixth inning where the goblins lead the Blazers 7 to 5.
You're watching the Centennial Bank State baseball championships in Arkansas.

We're loving it.
That student section right there is having a fun time.
And probably penny here all day his third championship game for Valley View.
Yeah, they are having a really good time as we head to the top of the sixth inning where the goblins lead the Blazers 7 to 5 I'm RJ Hawk along with Bobby Swafford.
And do up for Valley View.
Is Preston Watt walkington?
And he'll loop 1 into center field.
And that'll be an easy catch for the center fielder Kyle Madden.
So now Carter Salisbury comes up.
He's over 2 on the day.
Offense has certainly gone cold for Valley View.
That's why I lifted a right field.
Coming over is Gilliam, and he'll make the catch.
About 5 feet from the foul line, and there's two quick outs here.
In the sixth, Dylan Block is certainly settled in.
He's retired 11 of the last 13 batters he's faced.
Mr Parrish singles in the 4th inning.
He's thrown 82 pitches so far.
Yeah, so he's really, really settled in nicely and.
Reason Harrison's got themselves a 7 to 5 lead because this could have got away from him in the early innings, fastball swollen and miss.
Yeah, I know you're right.
It was not looking good.
Pro block.
In the second inning when when Valley View put up five runs, they batted around.
The pitch is low, it's one and one.
One and one is up top.
You know, I found out the lights here at the stadium and a lot of the lights that are around the country now and in baseball parks.
They've got these shades on them.
So where that's tough to see right there, but they've got these shades on them so you can.
Direct the light directly on the field and you're not gonna have a lot of what they call bad light coming off into like say, a neighborhood or out past the ballpark so you don't waste the lights.
So yeah, that makes sense.
So you redirect it back down onto the playing surface and and you look across and here we are in the press box.
Of course behind, don't play.
There's not really any.
Would you call dark spots?
But maybe at the 3:55 marks on the wall?
But that's the only place that doesn't look perfectly lit across the entire field.
Then you don't really need the light outside the wall.
You know they there was a study done that you know a lot of high school and municipal parks are inside neighborhoods, right?
And so you would have neighborhood neighborhoods where the neighbors said there was too much light from the ball fields coming into their homes, and so these lights have been directionally placed to where you don't have bad light going off into the neighborhood is just called booted by the 2nd baseman plumbing.
That makes a lot of sense.
It's amazing how technology and things just continue to get better and better.
Well, you know they've got.
I saw a college baseball field.
You know how, like Alabama and Arkansas, they changed the color of the lights and the football stadium saw baseball college baseball field that they did that with their lights.
On the diamond?
Yeah it.
It's crazy used to take you know 20 or 30 minutes for the lights to warm up.
But now you've got strobe lights.
Essentially in football stadiums.
Here's a pop up down the right field side and.
That'll go foul.
Yeah, the those old halogen bulbs that they would hum.
Yeah, you know you turn them on and Umm yeah, back in my day back you'd go in at the first thing in the morning and turn the lights on in the gym.
You had to wait 20 minutes for you.
Get the shot up.
Well, not anymore.
Remember there used to be those big banks you'd have like right there?
You got eight lights on a pole.
You'd have like 12, yeah?
But routinely at least two or three would be out.
Yes, yeah, because they didn't want to crawl up there unless I absolutely had to.
How to care of the big ball up there and throw over building a few extras.
Sports have certainly progressed in the last 10 to 15 years in all facets, and the playing surface is certainly one of them.
Here's a grounder to short, we'll make a nice throw.
That's a great job.
By Barrett 63 on the put out that's going to do it for Valley View here in the 6th inning.
They sent 4 batters to the plate.
Put 1 runner on.
There was an error and we head to the bottom of the sixth inning where Harrison they lead Valley View 75 you're watching the Centennial Bank State Baseball championships on Arkansas PBS Sports.

I've got a DVD player, but you know I haven't used it in quite some time, but I would for this.
Certainly I totally would for this because it's going to turn into the way of the VHS one day and my kid is going to want to go home and watch my dad doing.
Probably not.
I'm just throwing that out there.
Well, coming to the plate for Harrison is gonna be the 891 hitters and Tristan Thompson, Jared Wilson, and Sloan Barrett.
Bottom of the sixth inning as that ball hits the turf.
Wanna know?
Preston Waddington is the.
Pitcher 4 Valley View is that pitch is low and it's 202 hundred.
Said Wall Wallington is actually Slate Caldwell.
And then there's the two.
Oh and that is called a strike.
Camp Caldwell came in, yeah pitched A123 fifth.
He needs to do the exact same thing here.
Keep the deficit at two.
Give your team a chance at the top of the 7th to tie this up.
Potentially take the lead.
Here's the two one and that's chop foul down the third base side.
Because Valley View is down to their final three outs.
But it's not like it's not, they can't overcome it, I mean correct.
It's only two runs.
Here's the two two that's Swan and Miss Breakout.
So this is this is the same Valley View team that put up five back in the second.
The block's been pitching, though you know nothing's a guarantee he's an 88 pitches well underneath the pitch count limit, so you expect to see the starting pitcher try to go out and finish it for Harrison in the top of the 7th.
So Wilson's at the plate now he walked back in the 4th inning, then line lined out to the second baseman in the second.
What's up top?
It's a 3A and the 5A Baseball Championship games coming up tomorrow.
At 10:00 AM, four PM, respectively.
Nothing like breakfast and baseball.
I'm excited about that 5A match.
Yeah, that'll be fun.
I'm calling, so that's the one I've done.
The research on Van Buren and Marion.
No.
No one's up top again tuno geographically.
I'm not sure you can get farther apart than those two.
Maybe Lake Village to grab it.
That's about as far apart as you can get, though you might could go Junction City.
Yeah, to what Mountain Home?
Straight north, yeah?
Here's the two.
Oh yeah, it's called a strike.
If you go northeast to southwest, you guys you go to Texas, Canada, rivercrest.
Wilson, Arkansas.
Yeah.
Boy, you know I was.
I was looking at Valley View in the state tournament as the pitch is called a strike to make it two and two.
You know, Valley View played Arkadelphia in the in the state tournament, won that game 12 to 5.
But how about a separation in miles between those two schools?
State tournament was down in Nashville.
Here's the two.
Two, it's fouled off.
But I mean Valley View and I wonder how long of a drive it is from Valley View to Nashville?
That's a good waste.
I know that you know.
Farmington Shiloh Christian Huntsville had to make the drive from Northwest Arkansas all the way down there, so you know when you get the state tournament time, you don't care how many hours are on the bus.
Just as long as you're surviving advance, it's up top Korean too.
Nashville's got some really good facilities as well.
No doubt you can be playing this championship game on the Moon and all these fans would be driven too.
It doesn't matter, as long as you're there and playing.
Here's the three two pitch that's found off.
His job to stay alive.
By Jared Wilson.
Stay in the advat.
Can never have too many insurance runs.
That's exactly what Harrison's trying to tack on here.
I mean, I'm looking around the crowd.
This may be our largest crowd the day.
And bring it pretty much on the weekend.
There's a lot of folks here.
Standing room only.
Lots of blue.
Lots of gold.
I've had good crowd for the first two days, yeah?
The three two that's Swan High Chopper and it's gonna go to the pitcher and he'll make a throw and he's safe.
Wilson was able to let that one out for an infield hit and just tomahawked that one right off the turf and took a huge bounce.
That's the I guess the one negative of the artificial surface.
A huge hop there, and took forever to come down a great throw by the pitcher.
Campbell just could not get the speedy Wilson in time.
Why you had to make a turn and throw that?
That was a good play by the pitcher.
The tough angle?
Yeah, you're looking to right down the baseline you've got to worry about throwing into the back of the runner.
Made a perfect strike.
Just did not get there in time.
Now Sloan Barrett comes up.
He's the.
Leadoff man as they throw down the 1st.
There it takes the ball.
I'll be interested to see what the total of 10 you know.
We always see total attendance for football years to see what the total attendance for this weekend is.
Yeah, with with so many teams having or so many schools having multiple teams in the finals and fans sticking around, it's gonna be a little skewed because Valley View you could have bought one ticket and stayed for all three games.
And so I think the attendance numbers are are are actually going to be higher than the ticket sold numbers if that makes sense.
If you if you were adding baseball plus softball plus soy that is a sweet deal too man if you like.
High school sports in place like 7 bucks.
8 bucks be here all day and and be here and see three different sports be here all day.
Yeah exactly right, you know and it's a little bit different than like basketball where they do the sessions and you got to leave after your sessions over with.
Yeah, I know it's a great deal.
Come out and show it.
Tomorrow starts at 10-8 more championships and we're done for the summer.
Yeah, you, you just go on vacation.
Mouse a month on the job.
I don't think I have a vacation days yet.
Ohh Kona Ice truck is calling out a flashing lights at us.
You know we always talk about things that have been revolutionized as there's a throw down to first.
He's back safely turf on baseball fields.
The Kona Ice truck has changed the game for ice cream.
I mean, he's playing like Top 40 music rolling down the street.
Yeah, with with some all and I know this is a free plug for Kona Ice, but I mean golly that Joker is.
He's got a nice ice cream, Chuckie, you know, growing up you always had the van that.
The runner goes at the first base bag.
They get the out and they'll be safe.
At second base there is 2 ounce.
Now here in the inning.
So now up is gonna be Dylan Block.
Now let me look at your number 8 building block aligned at the right field back in the first.
This is this is a big batter for Valley View.
They've got to find a way to to get out of this inning only down 7 to 5.
But Dylan Block is likely going to be coming back from the 7th on the mound wants to add to his lead.
That's a ball outside.
Two outs here in the bottom of the sixth inning.
That's swung on a mill.
On deck is Beck Jones.
As the one one is on the way that's swung on, look to the left, another single for Dylan Block.
That'll bring a run that's a big hit for the Harrison.
Pitcher helps his own cause, pushes the lead to three.
Great piece of hitting.
This goes inside out.
Flips out one in the left field, picks up an RBI.
That pitch looked like he was outside.
He he was able to wrap around and just kind of hooks it around, yeah?
Another base hit for block.
Third base hit the day's 3 for four with two RBI.
And so now Bette Jones comes to the plate.
He had a single back in the first inning.
He's one for 3/8 unanswered runs for the goblins.
I thought this might have got out of hand when it's 5, nothing on top of the second.
Harrison is continuing to chip away, got their own big inning, added the all important insurance run here in the 6th.
So.
You know, I I love that we have people all over the state that watch these broadcasts.
So in one, by the way, my buddy Nate Olson was scorebook live sends me a text.
He says I remember the days the Kona ice truck.
He said it's it has changed the game.
As it's one in one, they used to do high school football games with us.
I went down for a sideline report one time and Nate was at the Kona Ice truck.
Well, as the decision there we got honest.
Yes it is Nate and the credit score McLeod do a great job they do.
There's 11 found back.
It's 1/2.
A lot of hard work media out fighting the elements this week.
Scorebook live the now the official.
Website of the AAA and and media partner media partner yeah.
There's one too, and it's curveball.
Down low, they they have really done well.
As far as being able to track down stories, Nate and Kyle Sutherland.
Those guys if you're a high school football fan in the state or football baseball, basketball, softball, they've really done a nice job with springs sports.
Devices are wild here in the bottom of the sixth runner goes that's swung on another high chopper, this one over to 3rd long throw in.
He doesn't want to hold on to it and we've got runners at first and third now.
An arrow on the 1st baseman.
And the inning continues.
It's going to find a way to stop the bleeding here.
If you're valley, you cannot allow that runner from 3rd to be pushed across.
So now you've got Kyle Madden at the plate.
He had a single back in the 4th inning.
He's won for three on the day with a strikeout.
It looks like the throw was there in time.
Just the play, not made.
And we'll see if that comes to haunt the Blazers.
We just hit the tie.
Heard this many go we just hit the two hour Mark playing this baseball game games.
Mukul moved along nicely as the first pitch is a check swing called a strike.
It's a good pitch there a lot of down movement by Caldwell.
With himself ahead in the count.
Yeah, he he went through the zone with the bat.
So it's Owen one.
That one is fouled out of play towards those woods I talked about earlier.
Now, once again, it's Owen 2 Slate Caldwell trying everything he can to get out of this inning.
O2 pitches up high.
They're gonna throw down to second.
We're getting a run down.
Now the runner's gonna go home.
He's just sliding safe.
One will be safe all around.
Yeah, Harrison tried that earlier in the contest in the valley we didn't bite for that time they did and it cost them as the goblin still a run.
Team Bobby is.
It's almost at this point.
Don't make that throw and let him go to Sam.
Absolutely that run honestly doesn't matter if cause he comes around to score the games.
Likely gonna be out of hand anyway and that's a huge second insurance run here in the sixth, not the leads up to four.
So Kyle Madden has a 12 count on him.
Curveball swung on and missed, and that's going to do it.
2nd strike out today for Kyle Madden and that'll end things in the bottom of the sixth inning, but not till the goblins put up two runs in the inning to make it.
9:00 to 5:00 we head to the top of the 7th.

The cassette or the CD, which we've later went to and dump it into the system to play on K UCA in Conway.
This funny how it goes full circle man.
Either way we go to the top of the 7th inning here in the Forum state Championship game where Harrison leads at 9:00 to 5:00.
Last effort for Valley View to tie things up and try to win A state championship game.
As the first pitch is called to strike on the outside corner.
Slade Caldwell at the top of the order of your Valley View if you gotta start to chip away, get a runner on.
That's how you do it.
He'll head down to first base.
That slide Caldwell.
So we know that you know he's active on the base path, but I'm not arguing.
I'm not sure you risk trying to steal second base because his run is really not that important because you need multiple runners.
So at this point I would just be happy to go station the station.
Yeah, he is.
You don't want to chance anything, that's for sure, and because every run every out right now is is important and so.
But I will say this.
I mean, if anybody were to try to chance it, yeah, he'd be the guy.
Yeah, to me the the the risk far outweighs the reward.
That pitch is outside.
And let's not forget, in the first inning they ran him early and he got thrown out.
Lawson Ward is not afraid to Sling it down to second.
Excuse me, not lost.
Awarded was actually Beck, Jones is that's fouled off.
So he hasn't taken off with the first two pitches.
I think he understands it and they they need multiple runners.
That's right, they need the beginning.
You can't run yourself into an unnecessary out.
Here's the one one slider.
Al Kipt is one and two.
Baker came in the ball game with a 361 average today's over three with an RBI.
Did that?
Why I say over two with an RBI because he had a sack and that's inside.
Brings the counts 2 and two.
That really almost came close to hitting.
2/2 is on the way, swung on foul back.
Great job battling by Grayson Becker.
I think it's worth noting that blocks now at.
96 pitches, of course.
The pitch limits is 110.
So once he hits that 110 pitch mark, he can complete the current advance, but he would have to be pulled out after that.
We saw one player in the very first game of the weekend, got to the 110 mark and he didn't have to get pulled because he got the last batter out.
He he pitched 111 but he had started the at bat, got the 1:11 and then won the game with 111.
As long as you start the last that at bat with 109 or less.
You can finish it.
Two and Two's account to Grace and Becker.
At Swan and missed big strike out there for block.
But Al Lawson warned the catcher is at the plate.
He's over three on the day with two strike counts now that they catch your number 13 Lawson award.
This is slider in the dirt one to know.
On deck, as Tyler Hoskins see, a lot of different philosophies when you're trailing in the last inning RJ some coaches will tell you to to take two strikes and make him throw you something over the plate.
Some give him the green light right ahead.
Fastball call the strike on the outside corner.
Here's the 11.
Spider inside, called a strike.
Well that was a nasty slider that Lawson Ord thought about throwing the flipper out there and trying to to to get hit on that elbow.
The elbow pad.
There's too much bend on it now.
He's down on the count one and two.
One ball 2 strikes.
Here's the pitch that swung on, ripped out the left field down for a base hit, rounding second.
Is called well, there's runners at 1st and 3rd with only one out here in the top of the seventh.
Yeah really good piece of hitting there.
My loss and ward just doesn't try to do too much ropes into the left side now.
The Blazers are in business runners on the corners.
Just one ounce.
I tell you what Bobby that that took the monkey off his back because he was over three on the day with two strikeouts and he was able to turn on that and send it to left field.
Andrew Gartman comes in run at first base.
Forward.
Or 25 and the program number one in your hearts.
And we got a mountain visit for Harrison.
Nobody warming up well.
He's got 9 pitches left.
Yep, so so you gotta believe even if they are going to replace him.
Maybe not on this visit.
If they do have to eventually replace him, that replacement is already on the field, otherwise they'd be up in that bullpen.
Well, they told me prior to the ball game that Kyle Madden is the is the next guy that it's either block or Madden that pitch.
And so Madden being in centerfield, that's who would come in if he needs a replacement.
The kitchen 25 new Gartman but we're 9 pitches away from that as Tyler Hoskins, the DH.
Is at the plate.
He had a single back in the second inning.
Struck out in the third, and flied to center in the 5th.
Runners at 1st and 3rd for Valley View.
That swung around the white field, another base hit.
One run jumped in the score.
It's 9 to 6.
One pitch, one RBI there for Hoskins.
But now RJ, how big were those two runs that Harrison tacked on and?
The bottom of the sixth inning.
Yeah, I mean that.
That you always like insurance, but I think those were big for the goblins.
3 run game as you've got runners at first and second now and Cooper Lutz at the plate.
Lutz scored back in the second inning, had an RBI double struck out the 3rd and then grounded out to second base in the fifth.
Yeah, let's put gave one a ride back in the second inning that double if he would have pulled it likely gets out of the yard.
That one bounced off the wall so he's got the power to get it out of here and a one swing in the back can tie this contest up.
Lutz came in batting 455.
One home run, twenty RBI.
Now that a diverse basement #2 Cooper Lutz.
Basketball this is inside.
Here's the 10 that's foul back.
One ball one strike.
There's a slider swung on and fouled off.
It's one and two.
You can say one thing about Lutz.
He doesn't get cheated.
He's earning every dime with his swing and he was trying to find the the gap.
Maybe pull one down the line.
So let's just extend this contest.
There's one too swan and fouled off.
He's determined not to let him pitch past his at bat.
He's now 106 pitches so far.
You only get to 110.
1/2's on the way, sworn on and miss drop him out.
All they're gonna say foul tip yeah, just got just enough of that one to stay alive.
Yeah, it's just barely got a piece of it.
There's the one too.
That's high, and outside it's two and two.
With one more pitch that's certainly going to do it.
So I guess unless you got it out here on this, this very pitch or you could double that.
You know, roll it up.
108 pitches now from block.
Here's the 22.
That's outside three and two.
Here's the three to it's fouled off.
What a great at bat here.
By Cooper Lutz.
And that was pitch #110.
So again, block and finish the at bats, but he will not be able to start another at bat if he does, though, it's an automatic forfeit, so I'm I'm gonna assume that Harrison will go ahead and make the make the switch.
Here's the three two swung on lifting the center field base.
Hit one runs go score.
The centerfielder kind mad lost the handle.
Another runs coming in two runs, score hits an RBI, two RBI single.
Really great at bat there by Cooper.
Lots and drives the ball finally gets one, puts it in play run.
Comes across the score we had to.
It may have to see if the second run scored on the air RJ but either way this will contest is a one run game and now Harrison has to go to their bullpen and a huge spot with the state championship on the line.
Talk about a gutsy at bat that time by Cooper Lutz just kept battling and battling falling pitches off and finally found one he was able to drive to center field.
Done.
That's his second hit of the day, and now Preston Walkington is gonna be at the plate.
Yeah, officially a single with an RBI then the second run did score because of an air on the center fielder and then Harrison goes to the pin.
Valley views offense has been stagnant all the way back until the 2nd inning.
But you know how things get a little dicey when the championship is right within your grasp?

The new picture is kind.
Madden who was playing in center field and a great acrobatic catcher or the ball game and how he's gonna be giving the responsibility and trying to close this thing out.
As the goblins 4 run lead is now been trimmed to one run here in the top of the 7th inning.
Crazy things always happen late in games.
Valley View left for dead, Down 9 to 5.
Coming into the final three outs they have they've scratched across three so far.
Have a runner on 1st, but what an at bat by Cooper Lux has fouled off good pitch after good pitch and finally barrel going up, the center drove in a run.
Another one came across next to an air and now it's 9 to 8 in the Valley View Crowd, which has been pretty quiet since that second inning are on their feet, ready to see if they can finish this comeback and tie the contest.
So one out.
Here in the top of the 7th inning.
Now that is the center fielder #29.
Nine days are scoring.
Preston Watlington's gonna be at the plate.
First pitch is high.
Call the ball anytime you're facing a new pitcher coming out of the bullpen.
You wanna see a couple out of his hands?
And I think they're just going to move the runner over to 2nd calling the box, yeah?
The first base umpire is gonna come over to him and tell him why ball can now.
Harrison's head coach Mike Wroten is gonna walk out and ask for an explanation.
Awesome.
Kind words said to one another there.
I mean the Harrison coach and the first base umpire.
Yeah, so now.
Runners gonna be at second base.
4 Valley View.
There's only one out here in the top of the 7th inning.
Is at the plate.
Dennis Dennis now coming in to run at second base?
It represents the tying run.
And that's swan and found out of play.
Boy, think about the pressure on John Madden and pitched the entire game and they and said we need you to save it here in the the last inning.
That's confidence by coaching staff though they knew who they were going to go to.
They told you before the game he would be the first man out of the bullpen.
Here's the old one that's swollen and miss.
So and too.
Now, if you're Watlington, you've just got to shorten up.
It's going to take time.
Looks like you might change weapons, but he's got to find a way to put the barrel on the bat.
And if you know.
Add some more tar to to the back and it's also a good way to make the picture.
Think about it.
Make him sit out there and watch him play.
By the way, another thing the Gamesmanship's never a bad thing.
By the way.
Another thing that's changed the played ball.
They now have spray talk.
I know it.
We used to have the stick.
You roll it on there.
O2's account that's swung on and found back?
Watlington is hanging in there one for three on the day.
Had a double back in the second inning.
Madden's coming and throw strikes.
That's all you can ask of a reliever.
As you got one more inning.
That's throwing a miss.
There's two outs in the top of the 7th.
Big Big strike out there.
Now ready alright builder number seven brothers Salisbury.
So now Carter Salisbury is at the plate.
He's old for three on the day line to short, flew out to left field.
Flew out to right field and let's put the ball in play all three times.
That's gonna be up high.
Call the ball.
One ball, no strikes.
As here's the strike on the inside corner 21, that's a good pitch on the inner third.
Saulsbury crowd in the plate and just a little bit able to paint that inside corner.
One in one.
Pitch on the way, that's one off driven into love center field rounding third, the time run.
We've got a tie ball game here in the top of the 7th.
What a big hit for cardio Salisbury.
They've been old for up to that point.
This puts the barrel on the baseball, pulls it into the left field, and unbelievably, RJ.
This team that was left for Dead Valley View has put up four runs in the top of the seventh.
Here we've got a brand new contest.
Carson Turley is at the plate with two outs now with a runner at first.
That's up high for a ball.
Now if you're Harrison, you've got to stop the bleeding right now.
You've already given up four in the inning.
The second inning in this contest, Valley views put up four or more.
You gotta find a way to get this.
The bottom half of the inning still tied.
Madden looks over to first base.
He throws it high.
It's two, no.
And boy Malibu doesn't bunches, don't don't they?
They put up five in the second four here in the 7th inning.
Yeah 9 looks good on the scoreboard is how they got here cause a little dramatic.
20 pitch on the way.
That's a check swing a little high.
It's three, you know.
They're gonna appeal down to 1st and he says he didn't go.
I think you're taking all day here.
If you're Carson thurley.
He did check his swing.
It's good to look at it there.
And there's ball 4.
So Salisbury is gonna head to second base turtle's, gonna be at first base with a walk and now the 9 hole hitter Jackson Stotts is at the plate.
Yeah he's been dangerous.
Been on base two of those three plate appearances.
Pair of singles scored back in the 2nd and the one time he was retired was a Bang Bang play on a ground ball to short.
Two outs, top of the 7th inning.
Pitch is highball.
1 Remember, he laid down the perfect bunt and that second that second inning that really jumpstarted things.
Here's the 10 swung on and found out a plane one in one.
The Blazers are, they've got nine runs on twelve hits and an error.
Harrison has nine runs on eight hits and two errors.
Here's the 11.
That's swung on.
It's one and two.
Yeah, I think starts decided to swing on that last minutes and you can see his glove there.
He just ripped that one wide open.
This.
Bottom hand came off of it glove, the shredded.
Here's the one too.
What's up high and tight?
He thought it may have Nick nicked the jersey a little bit.
It's two and two.
But may have got a.
Slight touch with the jersey.
Deuces are wild.
That's sworn and fouled off.
I think he's got a little bit of nerves going right now.
He's got the got the crowd back here chanting his name, hey.
What what better stage is there, yeah.
Here's the two two.
That's up high ball three.
That's a big take there that took some courage to let that one go.
That one just at the top of the zone.
That one could have gone.
Either way, he gets the benefit of it now the runners are going to be in motion, so anything to the outfield, likely going to score a runner easily.
That's elevated, great eye, though.
I mean cause that's a.
That's a tempting pitch on 2/2 here you go swan and found back boy he is battling.
We've seen some really, really good at bats by Valley View in the sinning Cooper.
Let's started it.
And this one by the 9 hole hitter stots.
The 9th batter of the inning to step up to the plate.
Here's the three two that's found back.
Once again, it's continuing to find a way to.
Get a piece.
Keep the at bat going con Madden's throwing 19 pitches.
If you think back to the start of the starting pitcher block who entered the this inning with 88 pitches, yeah, so you you start doing the math, which I'm not a math guy.
That's a lot of pitches to say now.
Maybe 41 pitches took me a minute there to calculate that.
I wasn't about to try it.
No, no calculator needed.
Here's the three two that Swan lifted high into right center field.
Shallow and coming in as block to make the catch to retire the inning.
It took 20 pitches by Kyle Madden.
And Block finished off.
His or outing, but at the end it was the Blazers who put up four runs in the top of the 7th inning to tie this ball Game 9 apiece.
We head to the bottom of the seventh inning, where it's Harrison's turned.

Yeah, the hospitality room talking high school sports for all the good stories you're told in the hospitality room, yeah?
No balls one strike.
Here's the pitch.
Fastball is outside, misses, you know I would like to do a podcast with like.
Retired or legendary coaches in the state?
Yeah, that you just sit back and let him tell stories.
Thought about doing that.
Here's the 11.
At Swan Mills, it's one and two.
Walmley still looking for his first hit of the contest.
Caldwell's coming.
It has really pitched well in relief.
1/2's on the way and hits the dirt.
Or the turf?
2 balls, two strikes.
Here's the author, it's low.
And it's four, three and two.
Now the fans are getting restless.
Every pitch is going to be.
Where did you miss that one?
Where is that one miss?
And that one certainly low, yeah.
3 two pitch on the way that was low as well.
Be a leadoff walk for Logan Plumley.
So now timber crenwelge's gonna be on the plate.
Find wells.
Scored a couple runs single back in the 4th.
One for two, officially with a lock.
Right first base.
Show bunt gets it down the first base side.
It is a great bunt as he throws it down the first base for that tight rope.
The line and an advanced the runner to second base.
Yeah, really nice job, just deadens it off the end of the bat.
Keeps him just inside fair territory and moves the runner into scoring position.
So now Brody Gilliam comes to the plate.
Gilm on the day.
Walked back in the 4th inning.
He was hit by a pitch in the 2nd and flied to right field in the 5th.
Think you can't undervalue the play of the catch of their loss and ward either you get out of his stance to realize that ball is not going to roll foul and make a strike to 1st.
Looks as if.
They're gonna have a pinch runner at second base for Harrison.
We're gonna be Kate and Quant.
Well baby clinic and so Quant will go to the second base bag.
I'm going to go ahead then give out the intentional free pass to Gilliam to set out the the force out.
Of course, to keep puts the double play in effect.
So now Tristan Thompson's gonna be at the plate.
He's oh for two on the day with a sack now.
But back in the 4th inning but he's had two strikeouts.
You've gotta remember that runner on 1st doesn't matter here at the bottom of the inning.
As if one run crosses the plate, this game will be over.
One out.
In the bottom of the seventh inning.
Harrison trying to win it.
First pitch is swung on and missed.
On deck is Jared Wilson.
Fields fairly shallow as they know something through the infield that runners coming home.
So they've got to get close enough where they can potentially gun down a runner at the plate.
Here's the old one that's swung on.
Popped up back behind third base, coming over to make the catch is the shortstop, that's Barry.
And so now there's two outs here in the inning and nice job.
I bear it to get out there and you know you.
You've been mentioned, the lights already with that one goes sky high, about even with the lights if not higher.
He's able to make the play before he tumbles to the turf.
So now the 9 hole hitter Jared Wilson comes to the bag or to the plate.
Excuse me is he's scored twice today at a single an infield single back in the sixth, he walked back in the 4th and then lined out to the second baseman back in the second.
That's swollen and missed.
Just fill up every pitch.
The crowd is just holding their breath, tensions getting thicker and thicker.
It's this game progressively gets longer and longer.
2 hours and 40 minutes into it.
Here's the old one that's swung on and fouled back.
There's two strikes now.
Looking ahead.
The valley views part of the lineup.
It's like they'll have their nine hole hitter.
That's what they're hoping.
Where's the O2?
That's called strike three.
Who's ready for some free baseball?
We're headed to the top of the eighth inning tie ball game in the four A state championship you're watching, the Centennial Bank State baseball championships in Arkansas.

Well, everybody's on their feet here at the Benton Athletic Complex and Edward Field as we head to the top of the eighth inning tie Ball game 99 between Valley View and Harrison.
This has been a donnybrook of all game Man Valley View jumped out to a 5 nothing lead in the second.
Letting them nine unanswered runs for Harrison and they took a 9 to 5 lead into the top of the last and Valley View storms right back puts four across the plate at the top of the seventh.
They hold serve in the bottom half and free baseball.
Kyle Madden comes back on the mound for Harrison as we start at the top of the eighth inning.
And.
We're running off for the laser coming to the plane.
Will be Slate Caldwell.
He kind of started things off for them with their run back in the 7th inning as that first pitch is up High Valley View sitting nine to the plate.
So his.
Fifth trip to the plate.
One O pitch misses inside and it's two of them being on base.
All four trips previously.
Three hits and hit batter.
Here's the 20 swung on and found out of play.
That's a that's a good way to raise the On base percentage.
Could be a whole lot higher.
To be quite honest.
2 balls one strike.
Now goes three in one.
On deck it's Grayson Becker.
And that's outside the leadoff walk.
And with his 41 stolen bases, and again, we'll have to see how long.
Called or decides to stay put at first base.
We've seen him take off on the first pitch a time or two already today.
Looked like he was frustrated they didn't pitch to him.
So now Grace and backers at the plate.
He's oh for three with an RBI today.
And it looks like they're going to come out and talk to Kyle Madden for a minute.
Left handed pitcher will be able to keep Caldwell a little closer.
Wouldn't be able to go on 1st movement.
That might be the the the best and easiest way to keep Caldwell from swiping second easily.
I don't think I think this was well I was gonna say it.
I didn't think they were gonna take him out but.
Looks like he's gonna come out of the ball game and we were we're gonna take a break when we come back we will have the new pitcher for this ball game as you're watching this Centennial Bank State baseball championships in Arkansas.
PBS sports.
Thanks George, appreciate it.

Now more convenient than ever.
We are back here at Everett Field in Benton, AR.
On the new pitcher is Logan Plumley.
Who will pitch for?
Harrison Plumlee was playing the second base bag and now he'll be on the mound.
So as we're in the top of the eighth inning, Noels and a runner at first base that'll bring up Grayson Becker.
Tough day at the plate for Becker, oh, for four.
We'll see if he's tasked, maybe tries to lay down a bunt, put Caldwell into scoring position, or just.
Provided distraction while Caldwell tries to steal second himself.
Gonna show a bunt and it's called the strike anyway.
The big Breaking ball listed at 62 on the radar gun.
That was what a slow Bender is.
Kind of loops over there, like right over at Magic Springs.
I throw over the first space to keep him.
Keep him somewhat in there.
Here's the 01 shows.
Bunt gets it down at third base side.
Thanks a long throw and it's in there for the Outrunner, doesn't bances.
That'll send Caldwell to second base, 5 three on the put out.
That's the first down here in the eighth.
Kids don't slide into first base.
Becker tried to lay out from the beat out the throw, but.
Myth Busters did the study, but he was close your body down.
But even with turf, though, you think that it might give you an extra little bit of, Umm, because you lose speed as soon as you lose your feet, you start to slow down.
Yeah, that's right, it's got a little slide.
You got a carpet slide.
Mythbusters can't be wrong.
Here's a swing by Lawson Ward and we'll start him off on one.
War today has had two strikeouts.
He did get a single back in that big 7th inning for him.
Makes him one for four on the day.
Here's the one that's swung on and missed that one too.
She set one up around his shoulders.
Top of the 8th inning here in Benton, 9 to Nines are score.
Here's the O2 that's outside.
You know, I when I used to call the Arkansas Traveler games.
We did a game that was 17 innings one night.
The game lasted till almost 2:00 o'clock in the morning as much fun as that sounds.
Let's hope that doesn't happen here tonight.
It was the Arkansas Travelers and the San Antonio Missions.
It was the game that would never end.
I think that's two full games.
Yeah, I, I think both teams, if I remember correctly, went through like.
Between the two teams, it was almost 10 pitchers.
Ohh yeah, here's the one too and that hits him.
Wouldn't be surprised if taking more than that that hit by pitch.
Slow breaker didn't break enough, and now Valley views got two on.
The cleanup hitter.
Yeah, Tyler Hoskins comes in.
If you're going to get hit, you prefer to get hit by a 65 mile an hour curveball.
That's exactly, Ryan Hoskins is 2 for four on the day he singled back in the second singled in the 7th.
Both came around to score on both occasions.
He did strike out back in the third inning.
Yeah, thinking back to that 17 inning game, I was so exhausted when it was all said and done.
I didn't play, I was just talking about it.
That's swung on Chop found on the right field side.
My longest game, I guess would be the the Arkansas regional gets Missouri State when it rained.
They had so many rain delays that finished at 2:30 in the morning.
I was at the ballpark for that.
Was 13 hours that day.
Here's the 01.
Big breaking curveball for strike 258 on the radar Hill, so you're used to watching 8182 all day and all of a sudden they try to break off a 58 mile an hour curveball.
You almost can't even convince yourself to swing at it.
I mean, you just can't sit back long enough.
Especially when you were used to seeing an 82 earlier.
Here's the oh now he's gonna back off and.
Just going to hold Caldwell to second base.
Plumbly certainly methodical, though he's not getting in too big of a hurry between pitches.
Here's the O2.
Her ball and hit the dirt.
One and two.
Now you were up at.
Omaha when all those lightning delays and rain delays were going on right, yeah?
That was like the that was like the College World Series that would never end 18 days.
I mean that was a lot of braska.
That was a lot of College World Series baseball.
Yes, it was and I wasn't there.
I I, we had another one of our folks from the station going.
But that was I can't remember going.
It's never going to stop raining.
I mean, every time Arkansas would attempt to take the field, it would rain delays.
They're in the game, postponed the games by a couple days, the finals got postponed today.
Once the laundromat at least twice there, here's the one too.
Way low and outside.
It's two and two.
One of my best memories though from.
The television days.
That was kind of like a it's like a once in a lifetime deal to be quite honest, it was a paid vacation to Omaha.
There's no vacation thing, I promise.
I guess you are you were trying to come up with stories without a game.
Yeah, that's The thing is like when you have to do 18 days of stories, you are mentally fried.
2 balls, two strikes.
Big breaking curveball out to 3rd.
He's gonna tag third base for the second out.
Really smart play there at third, let's get the easy out.
Well, the short way.
Nice job by Wilson steps on the bag.
Now two down.
So that will put Ward at 2nd.
And then Hoskins.
We'll be at 1st and now we have the plate.
And Lutz so far.
Today back in the.
Carson Tosh, you gotta remember they they pinch, ran for lunch, right?
That's right.
Cash is in the game and this would be his first at bat.
Yeah, the great advat did Lutz.
Back in the 7th.
They lifted him for a pinch runner.
He got into scoring position.
So Tosh has a one oh or one one count.
Check Swain there is, they went it's one and two tosh is just 10 and bats this year hitting 267.
Three RBI's.
Here's the one two pitch.
And it's now two and two.
2 balls, two strikes pitch on the way outside three and two runners going to be in motion.
So anything into the outfield would likely produce a run for the Blazers.
Bull count.
Add on the outside corner.
Strike three.
So 4 Valley View.
A strand runners at 1st and 2nd.
And we head to the bottom of the eighth inning.
We've got a tie ball game in the 48 championship you're watching.

I'd watch this game over again.
I'd watch the game, put it on mute exactly.
Yeah, there we go.
Beat me to it.
We head to the bottom of the nine to 9 Harrison Valley View.
Battling right here for the four.
A title.
So do up for Harrison.
They're going to have the top of their order.
They'll have Sloan Barrett, Dylan block.
Beck Jones 123 hitters for Harrison.
There's one for three.
Scored a pair of runs.
Also has an RBI.
And he'll take the first pitch for a called strike.
Caldwell, now at 55, pitches in relief.
Here's 01.
That's curveball up high.
Slade called well.
I think he was planning on having to pitch a full game almost.
He's thrown 56 now.
Counts one and one.
Here's the pitch that's swung on.
Popped up into foul territory and it's going to go out of play.
Bring the count to one and two.
Ball 2 strikes.
Here's the pitch, curveball swan.
It's right to the glove of the outstretched first baseman for Valley View Cooper.
Was that Cooper lutts over it?
Now that's.
I think that was Preston, Washington, Preston, Washington at first base yeah elevates for an A great play by the tall first baseman.
He started this contest over at 3rd flips over to the other corner and a bigger Mitt came in handy there.
So a line out by Sloane Barrett to third base, and now Dylan Block comes to the plate.
And block is 3 for four on the day and he's had a monster day.
Did most of the work on the mounds done plenty of work at the plate as well.
That first pitch is high.
Three hits, two RBIs, two runs scored.
Trying to state claim to that MVP title.
There's the one oh pitch.
That's up high, now.
Two and oh.
One out here in the bottom of the eighth inning that swung on.
In the shallow center field, a diving catch.
And he didn't come up with it.
It bounced out of his glove.
Boy, he gave it a heck of an effort Bobby.
He really did a nice diving effort, but as soon as he hit the turf ball pops out of his glove.
There's gonna be a good look at it.
He lays out for it.
Just as soon as, yeah, right when he hit the ground it popped out.
His could not maintain control of it.
Remember who are so now.
Beck Jones comes to play.
He's had one base hit today.
But he did have a sack back in the fourth nice effort, though by Grayson Becker.
Could not complete the catch.
Dez Bryant style.
Well that and that was a long run that he had to go after.
His first pitch will be a strike.
Pebete Jones.
Here's the one that's swung on out.
The second double play ball over to 2nd and they can't.
Knowing that they say.
After that.
They say pulled off the bag.
Think Valley views shortstop is making the contention that he lost control of the ball as he was trying to transfer it to his throwing hands.
The umpire didn't deem so.
Let's get the.
So here's OK.
He didn't have full control of the baseball as he was.
Pushing off that second base bag and so now Harrison has runners at 1st and 2nd.
So an air and the fielder's choice.
Runners at first and second one down.
For the goblins now Kyle Madden's at the plane.
And Madden has had one base hit today and that was back in the 4th inning.
He's one for four with two strikeouts.
One out here in the bottom of the eighth inning.
I mean, Bobby, if you if you get something in the outfield that is.
Medium depth you you try it as first pitch is swung on and missed.
If you get one to the alphabet, I think you're sending the runner no matter what.
Make them throw you out.
Yeah, I mean you've got the momentum that the surface is fast.
You're not going to get a better opportunity to score for the second than you would on this playing surface, so make them make the play and throw you out at home.
Other ones account.
That's going to be outside to bring the count to 1 and one of course that comes within reason.
If you hit a absolute laser beam right at one of the outfielders, you might have to reevaluate things.
But anything on the ground through the infield?
I think you're sending.
Here's the one that's swung on and missed.
Boy pulled his head big time that time.
That's one and two Madden hasn't looked real comfortable.
Today at the plate.
So one for four pair of strikeouts.
Here's the one too.
Now he's gonna.
Go back to second base.
You know?
And almost say that.
Try to move the runners over with a little sack bunt and then set it up.
But Logan plumley.
I've really had a.
He's old for three on the day.
There's one to the second baseman.
They're going to try to turn again.
No, they'll go back to first for the easy out and that'll advance the runners to 2nd and 3rd.
So it's just as good as a barn.
I got two in scoring position but the only one that matters is that one standing on third base and.
You mentioned Plumley.
I wouldn't even be surprised if they intentionally walk him unless they like to match up here with Plumley more than the Queen Welge.
So if you intentionally walk him here plumbly, you get the force out of any base.
But if you do that, then you've gotta go with Karen Welge and.
You know he's had a pretty good day at the plate today.
It's all about your or your match up.
Which one do you like more?
Pluma is gonna stay in there and he'll take a fastball outside for a ball.
It's also could be one of those instances, and it's hard to say this after just one pitch.
Maybe the unintentional intentional walk?
See if he'll chase a pitch or two out of the zone.
Yeah, and get himself out.
Here's the 10.
That's up high and tight.
It's amazing how quiet this crowd gets in between pitches.
Here's the two.
Oh that's swung on into foul territory and it's going to go out of play.
Look at it, look at all the people that had their head in their hands right there just watching.
It's a long day at the park, especially for a lot of these Valley View fans.
Even if they just got here for the start of the softball game.
They've been here since 4:00 o'clock.
I imagine some of the student section have been here since 10 for the soccer match.
Yeah, they had lunch at the ballpark.
Lunch dinner may have breakfast too well.
Here's the two one.
That's called strike two.
Yeah, Plumley's shaking his head on himself on now, and he knows that he knows that he missed a good one right down the heart of the plate.
So deuces are wild here in the bottom of the eighth inning.
Here's the two two that's nasty struck him out.
Harrison has left 8 runners on base, so is Allie View.
We head to the top of the ninth inning.
Tie Ball game 99.

A great keepsake of a great game that is now in the 9th.
Well, they just want to play a college baseball game.
That's all it was.
They did, so we head to the top of the ninth inning.
Tie Ball Game 9 to 9.
And for Valley View.
They're going to send to the plate.
There's 678 hitters up.
First is Preston Walton.
And we've just been told this game has been three hours and 10 minutes.
Watlington is not a 11 count on him.
Double drove in a run and scored way back in the second.
As he flies this one over to right field.
And he almost overshot it.
That's Salisbury was able to pull it in, and it's first out.
So I'm asking for a friend's, but my scorebook only goes to 9 innings.
So we just call the game.
If we have to turn the page and the score book.
Is that how that works?
Yeah, mine only does 9 as well, and so I think it's just going to flip over the next.
Really make a lot of sense.
Why would you build in at least one extra inning in the scorebook?
Well, because I mean, what if I'm?
What if I'm charting a Major League game here?
Well, then you probably get a Major League book.
As the first one is not the one strike the local sporting goods store no, no see when I, when I was doing traveler games we had our own custom scorebook.
Was your fancy?
Well now it's because Phil Elson's really good at creating creating scorebooks has this one in one.
But he he put like 15 innings on him.
You know, I was really in a bad way when we had that seventeens that 17 inning game as that one blind to center field will be in for a base hit.
Nice job by Salisbury.
Back to Back Bay sits for his evening.
Now I'm adding the 2nd baseman, #19 Carson Turley.
So now.
Carson Turley is gonna be at the plane.
He was hit by a pitch in the second inning, struck out, got on because of an error and then walked.
The On Base Percentage for Valley View and Harrison is really high.
Both teams have left 8 runners on base though Alex swung on, looked out the left field.
That'll be a base hit.
Runners at 1st and 2nd.
So really good piece of hitting there for Turley doesn't try to do too much.
Flips the bat out there, pulls it into the left field.
Nice job pulls the hands inside, drives it into left field.
Now runner in scoring position for the Blazers.
So now Jackson's dots comes to the plate.
Got two base hits, today's 2 from 4.
Big curveball that misses high.
Seeing stats lay down a bunch already for a hit.
We square it around to try to put one down there as well.
Here's the 10 shows.
Bunt pulls it back because it was high and now it's two of them.
Sometimes as a pitcher you talk yourself.
It's like OK, I'm not gonna throw a strikes strikes.
I want him to have a difficult bunt pitch to bunch.
Now you get yourself in a 2 old hole.
Here's the tool.
And it's called a strike.
2 balls, one strike.
We've got one out in the top of the ninth inning.
As he shows bunt, it's called a strike and now it's two and two.
Jackson starts not happy with either one of the last two calls against him.
I thought that one was outside to see the frustration there.
Now he's going to have to swing away in the counts.
Even.
Here's the two tubes swung on.
Look at the center field and that'll be caught and they get the double playing second base.
And caught no man's land.
He froze instead of getting back to the bag.
The Saulsbury is doubled up.
So 8/4 of the put out and.
Just like that.
Valley views done in the top of the ninth.
We head to the bottom of the ninth inning, where Harrison's gonna have their 678 hitters do up.

Or maybe this give a text to make sure our J and I are still alive.
We are three hours and 17 minutes into this contest.
All of our camera guys getting some work in today get some time.
They're having funds in extra baseball that crowd right there is going.
Did not expect this.
We're tired.
Hey.
It's always fun to get old few extra innings in as we head to the bottom of the ninth thing tied 9 to 9.
You know.
Thinking back how this game went.
Valley View put up a five spot back in the second inning.
Harrison tallied away tallied away, then they put up a five spot in the 4th inning.
Added a couple runs and then a four spot in the 7th inning for the Blazers.
That's how we get to 9 to 9.
Is this first pitch?
It's popped up into foul territory, Washington's making his way over and it's foul boy.
It was really close to that foul line.
Started to pick up a little bit as well the flag starting to blow right to left and.
The first baseman for Valley View might have got crossed up there, and that one falls.
To the turf and now.
Greenwald's got an extra opportunity at the dish.
Yeah Cromwell guy on the day.
He's got a base hit and a walk flied to right field, and.
Put down a SAC bunt.
01 is in there at the knees called a strike.
It's 1/2 and Caldwell, now up to 74 pitches in relief.
He's had a really busy day.
As much as he's been on the base pass.
O2's on the way that's swung on a miss?
Strike out.
So now Brody Gilliam the 7th hole hitter the plate he was hit by a pitch he's walked flied to right field, and then walked again.
One out here in the bottom of the ninth inning.
That's a called strike.
Here's the one swung on and missed big curveball on its own 2.
02 pitch on the way.
Curveball called strike three.
Back to back strikeouts.
Yeah, a little bit of a backdoor breaking ball there.
Caldwell gets the punch out and his line, now four and 2/3 innings pitched.
He's giving up one earned run, struck out seven in a pair of walks, has been outstanding in relief.
For Valley View.
So now Tristan Thompson comes to the plane.
He is owed for three with a sack bunt today.
That's swung on and missed hasn't lost anything on the velocity either.
Is called all that one.
At 81 he topped out at 82.
Earlier today he's held right around the low 80s.
Hasn't lost anything.
As his next pitch is going to be #80 of his evening.
Here's the old one, and that's.
Outside Golden Ball, I wonder if we've ever had two pitchers in one game hit that one Denmark.
I'm going to doubt it.
Honest, I don't have the record book in front of me and the legend Walter Wood.
He's not here to confirm it, but I would.
I would assume not, yeah.
Here's the 11 curveball.
Misses high, and it's now two in one.
2 ounces were in the bottom of the ninth inning.
Here's the two, one that's low.
It's three and one.
On deck is Jared Wilson.
Here's the three one pitch that's up high.
It's the walk with two outs here in the 9th.
It's really the one thing you couldn't afford to do.
If you're Caldwell, of course, you never want to give in to a header, but want to make them earn it.
Especially with two outs.
Now, batting 3rd baseman #22 Jerry Wilson.
15 line to the second baseman.
Got an infield hit and struck out so far today.
First pitch to him foul back.
They check the number of baseballs we have too.
Start it's starting to cost AAA money.
At this point.
It's called the game because of that.
But a lot of there's been a lot of foul balls, Bigfoot for some of those balls out of left field.
Here's the other one that goes way high and die.
And buses the tower.
One ball one strike.
Swings and misses.
It's one and two.
Here's the one too.
It's foul tipped.
He just kind of stuck the bat out there.
Just yeah, I think it's still alive, not even just check the swing.
It's kinda awkward.
Hop off the chest protector off the the foe dirt.
It's hard not to say dirt isn't.
I know it calling baseball forever, you always said dirt.
Here's the two.
Two struck him out.
So one man reached because of a walk.
Everybody else struck out.
We head to the top of the 10th inning.
You guys have.
Now we head to the 10th.
You're watching this Centennial Bank State baseball championships in Arkansas.

Let's say 1031 ohh, we've got.
We've still got some time to play baseball man.
I mean it's not late till like midnight, right Bobby?
I don't know it's like.
We head to the top of the 10th inning for those of us who got to the park at 8:45 today.
Hey look, my alarm went off at 3:30 so I don't need to hear it.
That sounds terrible it it's it's early and so.
We will have the 123 hitters do up for Valley View here in the top of the 10th.
Slade Caldwell will lead things off.
As it take a curveball drive at the center field and.
Right there is the.
Center fielder for.
Harrison and that's the first out.
The first time Caldwell has been retired tonight, first pitch swinging.
He was on base 5 consecutive appearances to the plates before that fly out to center.
So now it's Grace and Becker at the plate.
And Becker on the day.
Has not gotten a hit.
He's owed for four with a sacrifice.
So he'll head to the plate.
First pitch is swan and found out a plan.
That's the most velocity we've seen from plumbley up to this point 76 on the radar gun.
Here's the O2 swarm on a mist.
Two outs here on the top of the tent reach back and got a little more and pumped it up to 78.
I mean, that was the perfect *****.
And so now at the plate it'll be a Lawson ward.
Which is sworn out to left field.
It's looped in.
He's gonna round first and throwing the brakes and thought about second for just a moment.
But it's a base hit for Lawson Ward.
That's a big turn there.
But you don't want to run yourself out of a a potential inning.
He slams on the break.
The loss of awards got his second hit of the evening.
So now that brings up Tyler Hoskins for Valley View.
Remember John Tyler Hoskins?
Oskins today.
Has had two base hits.
Also struck out and flew to center field.
2 for four.
Got two outs here in the top of the 10th.
That's swung on, found off.
Those are depressing statistics spelled out the press, but I don't know if they anybody heard that.
But 350 pitches have been combined between both these teams, according to Troy Mitchell, who's running stats for this game as the 01.
Now they throw down to 2nd and they got it.
Caught stealing at second base, 2/6 on the put out we head to the bottom of the 10th inning.
They're trying everything in this one.
Both teams back and forth we go.

Well, we are in the bottom of the 10th inning and it's the 123 batters for Harrison coming up.
Sloane Barrett, Dillon Block, Beck Jones and Barrett's going to lead things off where he got a base hit back in the 4th inning.
An RBI double back in the 4th and so.
He is 2 for 5:00 today.
We just have to mention it because, well, it's up there on the board.
88 pitches.
Caldwell and relief.
So Slade.
A few bullets left as they'll throw first pitch that's high.
Just in case you missed it earlier in the contest, changed the channel and missed it.
110 pitches of the limits any player can throw in one single contest.
I feel like that was a day ago.
Here's the one.
Oh, that's swung on lifted out to centerfield, giving chase to the center field.
It's gonna be over his head.
He's rounded first bounces off the wall awkwardly, he's headed for third.
Here comes the throw and he's at with a stand up triple.
It's not a great piece of hitting by Sloan Barrett got a pitch he could handle and drives it to the deepest part of the parka awkward carom off the center field wall allowed him to get to 3rd as stand up triple and the goblins have the winning run 90 feet away, or that he was on it when he was motoring around the bases.
Put a charge into that baseball.
And channel Dylan Block comes up.
Block has had four base hits today.
Yeah, they intentionally walk block.
They intentionally are going to walk back Jones.
They're gonna load the bases with nobody out.
And the crowd doesn't like it, but.
I mean, you gotta understand that you gotta set up the force out.
You gotta set up the force so now.
It goes all all the way to the 4th man in the lineup with Kyle Madden.
You got a wardrobe malfunction out at second base.
This one PG though.
Dylan Bloch doing a little repair on the shoes.
Hi, we all need a break every once in a while.
It's been a long game, playing is tight yeah.
So CONMED, there's gonna be the hitter.
And con Madden on the day is.
One for five with two strikeouts.
As it looks real comfortable at the plate, either when it's two times and also this gets the left on left match up.
But more importantly is a force out in any base you see the infield as well in the outfield is in.
Well, if you want suicide squeeze and win the game, that takes some guts.
Yeah I would.
And now they're going to talk this one over.
You know you know what we loaded the bases, so we're gonna talk this one over and.
Bobby, I mean I mean.
So you've got an opportunity here to to have the force out at home, anything to the outfield ball game.
Yeah, I mean whether it's in the air whether.
If it's on the infield, that's about your only shot.
Or strikeout of course, Yep.
We are going to get a pitching change though.
Gotta change gloves gotta bring in the infielder glove or they're bringing in the dock so that what they're gonna do is they're gonna bring the center fielder in.
We're gonna have five players on the infield.
There's there's nothing illegal with that rule, you're just.
You can have as many players on the infield as you want because I mean like we were just talking about anything to the outfield.
You lose the game, Yep, so you allow for to have more people on the infield.
So if it's a ground ball, you make the play at home.
So the two outfielders are going to line up.
Probably in the gaps and try to give them as the opportunity to cover as much ground as you want, but I'd almost put everybody on the infield now.
I mean, cause a shallow flyball.
You wanna be able to get to?
Yeah, I mean I get that but.
You you you saw the speed of Sloan Barrett at third base.
I mean even if it's shallow, odds are he's gonna be able to make it in pretty easy.
But either way he got five players on the infield.
As con matters at the plate.
If you're mad and you just gotta find a way to put a bat on the ball.
If you're Caldwell, you're looking for strikeouts, there's a curveball.
Strike one.
All five on the the grass.
Here's the one that's swung on to the outfield, and it's gonna be caught for the out they tag coming into score Hanson, who's your 4A state champions?
That's just called doing a job RJ all he had to do was put the ball in play drives, the one to dead center field.
Yeah, the game in which they trailed 5 nothing.
They watched the four run lead disappear in the 7th.
The goblins of Harrison find a way to pull out this marathon of a match up.
What a game.
What a game between.
Valley View and Harrison your final score.
Harrison, 10, Valley View 9 let's take a break.
We'll have to.

Well it was a marathon, but it was a fun one as Harrison wins the state championship in Class 4A by a final score 10 to 9.
They're about to get their championship trophy at home plate.
Bobby I mean couldn't ask for a better.
I mean, you know, I know we've been at the ballpark all day, but you love games like that.
There wasn't a hole there.
Three years in the ball game it was.
It was two pitchers will really 4 pitchers going at one another and I it was just a heck of a ball game.
It was a clean contest.
I mean the airs that really didn't play much of a fact that were in it.
There's two teams battling it out and just refusing to lose.
You have been really easy for Harrison to roll over after they gave up five runs in the second inning.
It would have been easy for Valley View to this layout.
Lay down down four runs in the top of the 7th but they didn't have been easy for Harrison to give up after allowing those.
Four runs in the seventh inning, but we make it all the way to the 10th, but Harrison found a way to get the job done and what an effort.
Tip of the cap to everybody on that field.
Valley View.
Not going home with the Gold Trophy, but they certainly played well enough to win a championship tonight.
They just got out.
Did 25 hits between both these two teams.
I mean.
Valley View had 15 heads.
Harrison had 10, goblins had ten runs, though valued at 9.
As here comes the trophy to the Harrison goblins.
Final stance and this one go ahead and take a look for Valley View leading the way.
Yeah well, I mean the stats for days, but the Lawson Ward went 25, with no RBI's slate Caldwell, three of four with two RBI.
Tyler Hoskins 2 for five with an RBI he had Cooper Lutz which went two for four with two RBI.
Preston Washington, one for five Carter Salisbury 2 for five and Jackson Stouts 2 for five for Harrison.
Sloan Barrett went two for five with two RBI's Dylan blocked, 4 for five with an RBI.
Beck Jones won for five with an RBI and Kyle Kyle Madden throw one for five with three RBI.
The starting pitcher Eli.
Roselius went three innings, gave up three or four runs and three walks with three strikeouts.
Washington went one inning and then Slate Coldwell went five and a third innings.
Four hits, three runs, two errors and five walks with eight strikeouts.
Dylan Block for Harrison went six and a third gave up eleven hits, nine runs with six strikeouts.
Kyle Madden went 2/3 of an inning with one hit and one strike out, and then Logan Plumley worked 3 innings, gave up three hits.
And two strikeouts game time in this one it was.
There's a long one long, 3 hours, 36 minutes to be exact.
Yeah, with an with an attendance of 1298 so.
That was a mouthful right there.
Bobby final thoughts.
Great game.
I mean it's it's one.
It's a fantastic game, one of just eight games in Arkansas High School history to go to 10 innings or more.
It doesn't even come close to the longest game ever, which was 21 innings between Hazen and Tuckerman back in 1980, but it's one of those games that's especially the people from Harrison are going to remember for a long time.
And it was.
It was a classic.
And if you got a chance, maybe watch this when a game next week on YouTube.
Maybe order a DVD copy of it.
Yeah, it was a lot of fun and so you know what.
Let's go, take a look at tomorrow's games because we don't have any more tonight.
So it's coming up tomorrow.
It's 3/8 baseball.
We're going to be right back here with Hayden.
Ball gave you myself, doing the three a baseball game between Harding Academy and Ashdown that will be at 10:00 AM in the morning, right here in Arkansas.
