K Arena as it's a six day girls game between North Little Rock and Conway.
We're moments away from the opening tip off at Dwayne Bowe SKORZENY Williams IV, our Jayhawk sitting courtside for today's action edition.
This is going to be a really good match up.
Both these two teams have seen each other through the state tournament.
Before we get to breaking that down, let's look at the path for both these teams to get here in the state tournament.
It all started.
We'll start on the north Little Rock side where they got that first round bye.
And then it moved into the harbor game where North Rock won 6641.
Cavite was the final test where they squeaked that one out 6254.
For Conway, they also got the bye on the top side, played Fayetteville 6945.
They took a Little Rock Center and really thought that game was a little bit more lopsided when it really should have been.
And now you've got the finals today, you being the the Bryant coach.
You coach in this conference, were you a little shocked by how lopsided that Conway Lawrence Central score was?
Yes, I thought it would have been more competitive.
But I think CONWAY you know, having the seniors Chloe Carty and Savannah Scott, I just think they have a mission and they they're they're going to try to accomplish this.
Speaking of the Chloe Cardy, let's look at the players to watch in this one for both teams because both teams are star studded.
And we will first start with North Little Rock.
And I tell you what, they've got a good one.
And April Edwards.
Yes, she is an amazing guard.
She can shoot the three.
She can beat you off the dribble.
She she so she's really set as well as Jocelyn Tate right there, 13.2 points per game, averaging 3.8 rebounds a game.
She's going to Pittsburgh State to play ball.
Jocelyn Tate got offers from UCLA and Louisiana Tech, both really good players for North Little Rock.
Yes, they're really, really good on the Conway side.
It really everything goes through Chloe Cardy and she's the player that's headed over to Stanford, 24 points a game.
She is a lethal, but she can score.
She's a smart player.
I mean, there's a reason she's a Stanford commit.
And you see somebody like that.
Chloe Carter is really somebody that she's just she's hard to defend.
So, yeah, she's really poised as well.
She doesn't try to force shots.
She's smart with the basketball, smart with hard decisions.
I mean, I think tonight seasonal she's on the show will be on the table tonight and the starting lineup to be announced right now for both these teams.
And we're going to start with North Little Rock and four North Little Rock.
They come in the ball game 27 and five, nine and three.
In the six days Central.
They'll have Darren Freeman, the senior point guard, Jocelyn Tate, who we talked about, a 510 junior guard.
Hey, Bill Edwards, the five nine junior, the senior guard, Jazmine Brown, the 510 senior guard, and Madison Hadley, the six foot junior forward.
It's all of these starting these starting five.
You've got three girls that average double figures.
Yeah, they're really good at transition.
They want to play fast.
They want to get up, play up uptempo game.
Those those three guys, Gary and Jocelyn and April, they're they're going to be tough.
They're going to be tough to stop.
Okay.
So on the Conway side of the Conway well the stats we talked so much about point Carney but this is their starting five came back with she's the five five senior guard we talked about Chloe Camille Brown the five seven senior guard, Alexis Scott, who leads in rebounds.
She's got three Division one offers and then Savannah Scott, who's headed to Auburn.
She's averaging 14 points a game.
I think for them.
Camille and Alexis are the X factors.
They do a lot of the dirty work, play defense.
They make shots when you know they need to.
They step up and they do their roles well.
Well, it is going to be an outstanding game.
Oh, we hope so.
Anyways, at the six day Girls game, let's go with the keys to the game for both these two squads because they've seen each other twice already.
And a lot of people say it's hard to beat the team three times.
We'll start with North Little Rock keys to the game.
Getting stops like it's going to come down to how many stops they can get, whether they're trying to pound it down low to Savannah.
They're going to have to be able to, you know, slow quality down.
Also, Conway likes to take a lot of three.
So they're going to have to be there.
Two contested shots.
So on the Conway side, this is a team that they've done all the winning so far.
They have been one of the best teams in classic Apricot like keys to Victory and have to stop April eight.
What she is going to look I look for her to try to go in her bag early and, you know, get them going.
And they're going to also have to get defensive stops as well.
Now, you see the wall, the stats right there as Coach Kraft is breaking her sweat.
She's no stranger to the state championship game back.
Her dad, John, loves Kraft.
He was the long time coach.
He got hurt as he sits right behind him today.
I believe today is his 70th birthday and he's sitting right behind the Conway bench watching his daughter coaching another state championship.
Damn astronauts.
What about Daryl pinpoints in his 18th season at North Little Rock.
He's got an overall record of four and 50 words and 95 losses overall and 25 seasons for Coach Bevel, 570 wins now he's a bit.
He's a bit he's in this position for a reason.
Both players would say.
Savannah Scott's 12 is Madison Hartley and Conway takes him to Geisinger.
Just like that.
Alexis Scott is able to take it to the rim North Little Rock throws it from left to right of your screen here bank goes he enough so Conaway gets the rebound is where in the early going in the six a girls down a quick three level too hard that time ball's going to be bounced around and it'll go out of bounds to stay with north Little Rock.
Yeah that's one thing about both teams.
They like to play really fast up tempo basketball.
They want to take quick shots and get it going early.
And you know, one thing that Conley's got the side and this is advantageous for North Little Rock to really run and John to try to not allow for them to set up defensively.
Yes, Yes.
That's going to be key for them.
And I think they'll have a lot of success doing so.
North Little Rock with the basketball one thing the twist to this year in all of high school basketball is the shot clock as it's down to 13 right now and they try to go down low.
I believe that time for those little again.
Freeman is trying to find Madison Hatley down low and he throws it out of bounds time when we get the basketball back with 7 minutes to play in the first quarter.
You're not thinking away wins on that possession right there.
They remain the first possession in second possession they switched to zone.
So I think it kind of threw North Little Rock all ball was deflected away that time as Hatley was able to disrupt it and the matchup down low between Hatley and Savannah, Scott is going to be one to watch.
Is there another steal right there or can quickly miss layup and a more big block from behind that time as April Edwards was able to get the block north Little Rock going baseline and Savannah Scott right there she stands at six four headed to Auburn averaging eight rebounds a game and there's a hard foul know they're both trying to play fast get it in attack the gaps It was a good hard drive 606 here in the early going as Conway leads north the Rock two to nothing.
Here's a three point attempt that's a little too soft.
Conway gets her own rebound and they can't make that go is that was Alexis Scott who tried to put it back up.
Hey your microphone.
So here's a three point attempt left side as Conway's got a little frantic here here in the early going, I think.
CONWAY You know, I think those those those are those just jitters.
They're times of deep shots.
And here you go, three quarters doing what she does not mama that right there you just see the athleticism of Khloe cardi is she was able to get the ball quickly, get rid of it and hit the three pointer 505 left here in the first quarters.
That's an airball.
That was way too hard that time by Jameer Brown.
And you know, Jamaal Brown is a 35% three point shooter this year.
She's pretty good behind the arc.
She can she can shoot it.
I look for her to start making solid here in a bit.
Five Nothing Conway leads North Little Rock Well Icardi coming at the free throw line I tell you with the right hand too hard coming down with another offensive rebound for Conway, it's Alexis Scott.
This time to splash through the part of the net.
Hey, Conway's rolling right now.
Eight to nothing.
Yes, that's a part of her game.
Alexis.
She can shoot the ball.
Well, some something north Little Rock with the basketball.
How to get it down low big block that time by Savannah Scott offensive rebound They get it puts it back and north Little Rock is on the ball on the board and Freeman is really good at that she's good at splitting the defenders and finding Madison down low for that don't down so Chloe Carney with the basketball 4 minutes to play here in the first quarter now we're going down the Scots got with the right hand at two easy easy but as far as a how can you stop this Like, how can you stop that?
She's in front of her.
She's in good position.
I mean, we just did what she did and got around the.
Okay, so.
343 here's a ball taken by Conway and we've got a whistle and a foul.
The foul is going to be called on Jarrett Freeman and that'll take us to immediate timeout ten to choose our score.
Conway leads North Little Rock in the girls six eight state championship game.

Well, if you want to have a great meal after the game, go by your local Wendy's today because they'll tell you what they have all the snacks for champions just like the champions on the floor.
And I am a big fan of the Baconator.
I'll say that all day long.
So we've got a great crowd here at the six day state title game where Conway leads North Little Rock 10 to 2.
And today, I mean really kind of the pace of play that you were expecting early here in the early going.
Yes.
Both teams like to play up tempo.
They trying to push it in transition.
They're going to say quick shots.
So it's definitely exactly what I expected.
So Conway with the basketball as North Little Rock is going to steal it away was Garin Freeman into the frontcourt working quickly Nice little special issue she he finds coupons her players play to the basket and Jocelyn with the Grayson job when they had a great cut in the lane and north little rocks on the board and now 10 to 4 Teddy Beckwith just working it over to Chloe Cardy on the wing party down there to try to.
They're trying to find something and now we've got a whistle foul and Little Rock going to be going off into Akzonobel just to try to slow the pace of this game a little bit.
It's 302 left here in the first quarter.
It's ten two for Conway on top of North Little Rock.
And at the line Camille Brown is at the lane.
You know, one thing, Camille Brown's not a very big player, but she's not afraid to take a chance.
19 charges she's taking this year.
She's a toughie.
She's with us here.
It's about doing the little things no one ever takes.
First free throws.
Good.
It's 11 to 4.
There's a good shot of coach Temple, one of the legendary coaches in high school.
Women's basketball has the second free throws on offense.
Another aboard Notre Rock the block out and you know secure to secure the ball one and done it seems like we've seen a lot of offensive rebounds so far that's now the third offensive rebound for Conway in the game as here's a foul whistle a foul Alexis Cox trying to go up She'll head to the free throw line to shoot to.
Yeah so far I said three.
It's actually four offensive rebounds for Conway here in the early going.
It's just another they should just be glad that Conway missed you know a couple of those lay out in the beginning because she scored 30 yards first free throws up and good checking in the ball game for Conway is Amari Bohannon She's coming in for Camille Brown.
She is a shooter.
She's a senior.
I look I look to see her going from three out came back with Brainerd teaming up backwards.
That's actually three and bringing it up for Simmons Edwards now will go baseline it's a great longer it's a great guy that's well Johnson and she's what she does good at getting to the basket and finishing well here's a block out of bounds time will retain possession going back to Josh Allen take you know she's a player that has started every game for North over the last two years so she's no stranger to being around big games inside championship games and that's that's the type of players you want, you know, in these positions.
They're going to be poise.
They're going to you know, they know what it takes.
They know what to do.
I work in the ball down to the corner, like to go up another block for North Little Rock organ in the frontcourt.
As we've got a whistle on those we call on the floor April Edwards not to get to the bucket at the 206 mark Conway leads third team to six.
Here's a three point attempt.
There's no good ball's going to be knocked out of bounds.
They're going to say, I was last touched by Madison.
Hatley.
That was a great look for April.
She makes those with her eyes close.
I said, Madison Hatley, that's actually Serena Evans.
So Conway with the basketball one or two to play nice versus take and finish goes off It's a rebound a nice put back and you got to look at the heads up play by Alexis Scott who saved him from going out of bounds was able to find Savannah Scott to get the bucket you know and again another offensive rebound impression on the boards and just doing the little things cut in the lane by North Little Rock Scott's here to get the rebound for Conway Nice take by North Little Rock and it was Jocelyn Tate who stole it away and for career Joslyn Tate came in this ballgame with a 174 career steals.
Yes, I can believe it.
She's probably the best one of the best ball defenders in the state and specifically in the conference.
And we've got a whistle and a timeout going to be charged to North Little Rock at the 115 mark.
And now when you see this pace so far, you see Conway's had opportunities to make shots.
But I think defensively right now the score may not indicate it, but when it's just in the half court, go talk.
But playing better defense right now, they're doing a good job.
They have people on the outside there in the gap there.
Indiana is just about those second and third chains opposing views that they're giving up, but they just finish each possession.
What a block out.
I think there's very little difference, but still a lot of going on.
That was one thing coach is going to get right experience the Jacksonville all over again next week.
Watch all the championship games in Arkansas PBS sports features at YouTube.com Backslash, Arkansas PBS a minute 15 left here in the first quarter.
Conway leads 15 to 6 in the six eight girls State championship game.
R.J. Hauck, along with Steve Williams, I work on the left side into Chloe Corey's hands, and we had it knocked away and out of bounds.
And once again, Josh Joslin.
Tate Right there.
Knock it away.
Yeah, it's good deflection.
She's going to be all over.
Corey So Savannah's posting up really hard on the ball right side, try to get it to her and she could stolen away by Beckwith.
Beckwith She lost a handle on it got poked away at the last minute coming up to poke it away for Conway it was a Cox down a 45 seconds.
Here's a three.
It's an airball.
Tate's right there to get the rebound and she'll bring it up for North Little Rock.
Now, at three from the corner from brown It's no good long rebounds going to go out of bounds and that was a great block out by spin come up with it emerge It's like north little rocks didn't get the basketball with 30.5 seconds left here in the first quarter It's like Cowboys zone.
Yeah they got to play the zone north Little Rock on hold for that last shot Shot clock's turned off you know.
Now, I'll tell you this.
Here's a three and it's purpose.
But the bottom of it, they're going to save it.
I thought they just saved for the final seconds.
Look to that 10 seconds down the clock.
Here's a shot.
The free throw line.
It's no good that's going to do it.
Let's go to ask you about that shot clock.
We'll talk about that second quarter.
This team at nine is our scores.
We in the first quarter of play, Conway, they lead north Little Rock.

We are sending a special thank you to Schlotzsky's of Hot Springs at 3251 Central Avenue for providing free food for our crew and a little bit those cookies earlier and they were outstanding.
Oh Cookie, really?
I kind of get into the cookies, but you know what is also a get there and the cookie jar right now is Conway as they're moving quickly to the front door after that last three by North Little Rock drive in a lane to hard north little Rock's got the rebound and the ball can be stolen away by Conway There's bodies that hit the dirt but no, there's a foul.
They're going to say there was a foul on Zakiya Hicks.
Yeah, I think she tripped her.
So they call it on the truth.
Both teams play so hard, a lot of steals in North American League games there.
Both teams have four turnovers so far in the game, 1123 left here in the first half.
Chloe Khan's posting now to give it to a good kick, go and work it right side into the line with the right hand.
No good seconds right there tries to get the rebound has two people on it goes up with it right here that's why she's got all that is why she's going as hard to stop.
They have three people on her at one point.
It was a great finish by Savanna, 17 to 12.
Here's a pull up from inside the three point line rebounds.
Take it in by Katy back.
Take back with Beckwith into the frontcourt out to get it Dallas Gobert's good use of her hands and rock it off the glass.
It could be a hit.
That's what North Little Rock is really good at.
Getting out in transition, running the floor while running their lines and finishing later, just as they do.
And just like that, we've got a three point game.
Here's Glory going up with the left hand as taken by North Little Rock Morgan down and she just can't hold on to it.
That time it was Sierra Evans who couldn't hold on to it.
That was a great pass.
Going to give Chloe Cardi a break and she'll check out Kelly in the ball game is Samuel Jordan on the way?
With the basketball down to 6 minutes remaining in the first half, I think Conway should keep penetrating and looking for Savannah to post up because no Little Rock had to answer it.
It was a shot that time by Jordan that was no good.
North Little Rock now could possibly tie the ball game where he's on the way.
It's no good rebounds pulled in Bible and quick transitions He misses the open layup and Alexis Scott was trying to do a lot at that miss and now we've got a whistle in north little rising at the basketball.
That was a great pass out.
He just made it to finish, which both teams have missed a lot of opportunities to finish underneath right now.
Both teams shooting 30% for the game, both six of 20 shooting for the ballgame.
Yeah, there's one thing about both teams.
They take a lot of shots, which is why they score.
They walk the ball to the top.
The key.
That's Freeman Now back left side.
April Edwards, Edwards going to be playing it off the back the iron It's no good way in transition now now the 5 minutes to play in the first half one up with a right hand that's Bohannon but right there Savannah Scott doing what she does rebound pull back and you know for as much as she's battled down low still has yet to get a foul in this game which is very impressive because I think the first two times they played each other, I remember her getting in foul trouble.
So that's good that she hasn't had to come out of the game.
Here's a three point attempt on the left side.
That time taken by North Little Rocks.
Katie Feltham They went down low was to Scott.
She tried to go up with now joy to the free throw line to shoot.
Yeah Conway is doing a really good job of just hitting pass and north Little Rock defenders and either trying to go for a layup or finding Savannah down the bank.
It's a good game plan Thanks The first free throw now checking in the ball game for Conway you've got Chloe Cardi Also checking back in is Joslyn Tate for North Little Rock.
Yeah I don't imagine Coach Semple allowing tussle in the suits and launches one of his better players back at free throws.
Good It's 2114 Conway on top in North Little Rock Conway is going to stay in their two three zone which has been affected as deflection out of bounds that time with Little Rock to keep possession of the basketball.
Here's a three point attempt to hit the bottom of the bucket that time for North Little Rock it was Jameer Brown.
That's our shot said started with confidence able to follow through and so I go through the net.
Now here's the three on the right side.
Try to answer it.
No good.
Now he's got a whistle that's a little bit So Savannah thinks Savannah was being too aggressive on that.
Try on those and get that rebound.
Okay.
Well, we're at the 349 mark that's going to take us to immediate timeout Todd way they were going to run 2117 you're watching the Centennial Bank state basketball championships on Arkansas PBS Sports.

County North Little Rock six.
Hey Girl State Championship Game Girls.
Little Rock with the ball And there's Tate with a shot underneath the bucket and she misses And so Conway's got it.
We've got 330 till halftime and there's a long three up on the right side.
Take it back.
North Little Rock.
And here's one of those things today that go to the arc.
They've gotten close.
They just can't get over the hump.
And here's the big three right there.
Took the 2a1 point game in April.
She's been in this position before.
She's able to make those shots as they are the defending six eight champions.
Chloe Tani gets the ball left side to Jordan, always got a whistle and a foul That's to be on Jocelyn Tate at the Tate.
That's her second personal foul.
So North Little Rock is in a penalty so Caldwell shoot it with free throws for the rest of her So at the free throw line it's Chloe Cardy three throws Good Got a great stroke at the free throw line.
She does two point game four, he's got four points and the second free throw as good as it takes it back out to a three point game with the left side North Little Rock, April Edwards pulls up, knocks it down from eight feet.
That's back to a one point game.
April is feeling good LSU back to back bookings from her.
Alexis Cox goes right side to Clardy for a three point She was confident with that job.
Yeah she was like, It's my turn, just give me the ball.
Four point game.
North Little Rock got the ball.
Top of the key.
All right.
Conway has switched their defenses.
They're in a131 now and they're going to get the rebound off the Miss.
It's a four point game.
Alexis.
Alexis Cox, just going to work it around the perimeter.
They've got 20 on the shot clock and they're going to call it jump ball.
So Conway will keep possession of the basketball with 16 on the shot clock a minute, 46 left here in the first half.
I looked at him to try to get it in the clarity.
Here's glory with the right here and a big block of love just now.
Working quickly in the frontcourt airs a shot they're going to call block and it looks the north Little rock that was able Edwards who was he took a hard ball watch it right here it was a block because she never had her feet set count.
My fans are not happy, but we can get the truck to roll that back once again.
Yeah, I think it could have went either way, but I see why they called it a block.
She missed her first free throw.
And here's the replay once again as she's coming in.
She never had that that left foot set and it comes up with the block and now checking in the ball game from North Little Rock is secure Hicks as she makes the second free throw It's a three point game I think when you're coach you don't get these these awesome replays to be able to look at.
I wish we had a plan B is a bounce pass down low but April Edwards going to get called with a foul that's her first foul the ball game although they're going to call it on Chloe Cardi I think she reached down once April got the steal which caused her to choke but North Little Rock bream and as it kicks it left side to Edwards for three no good rebounds take it in by backward walking quickly Cardi Cardi with the right hand she's pushed down but she makes the bucket It's a five point game.
I thought they could have been two and one.
Yeah, I was wondering if we were going to see a foul under a minute to play in the first half.
And there's a jump Jumpers in six feet away by poor Edwards.
Eight points for Edwards down to 43 seconds left here in the first half.
Nice cut inside with a right hand it goes, that is give me a girl.
She kind of falling asleep.
When she made the pass, she turned to him.
It's easy to get there.
Could not.
Clock's turned off.
Down to 24 seconds left here in the first half.
Edwards drives baseline pulls up from eight feet counts it adds a lot of scoring the last 45 seconds right where has made the last five buckets for Notre Dame The 9 seconds slowly Cardi with the ball quality going to pull up hits it off the side of backboard that's going to do it it's going to do it for the first half What an exciting first half as Conway.
They lead it by 330 to 27 in the six eight girls state title game.

From taking selfies to hyping the crowd, mascots bring a unique energy to sports, and it turns out that some mascots are a little more unique than most.
Do I sit here?
Okay.
Oh, excuse me.
Okay, Whenever I'm ready.
Okay.
Mascot is for the book.
The Audacious Arkansas is chock full of bears and eagles and bulldogs.
In fact, there are 354 schools with mascots and more than a few double ups.
But for all the basic beast, there are a few out of the box mascots that only exist in the natural state.
You're from Batesville South Side, aptly named Southerners.
Two pint sized pests like the Fordyce Red Bugs.
Here are a few of the wonderfully weird mascots in Arkansas, so Arkansas has three different pitchfork brandishing imps all unique to the state.
The Morrilton Devil Dogs, the Wonder view Daredevils and the Gurdon go Devils all sport the typically horned mascot.
Although the lumber town of Gurdon got the go devils from a piece of logging equipment for quickly pulling up trees, Harrison's figurehead is the one and only goblin, the original Goblin was created in 1927 to give the school newspaper a name, sporting blue hair and a golden face.
The goblin started out as a smiling friend, but the angry lion more fiendish in the sixties with its current, meaner incarnations along that same main street in 1925, University of Arkansas at Monticello set out to strike fear in their athletic adversaries.
What better name for a frightening foe near the agricultural heart of the state?
Then the bowl weevils every Arkansan knows these tiny beetles have been decimating cotton crops and terrorizing farmers since the state was founded.
Danville took on the moniker of the little johns after the French explorer Petit Jean Legend.
Tales of a heroic young French girl who visited the state in search of her long lost love.
The state has since used the moniker for a river mountain and Arkansas's first state park.
Speaking of firsts, the Arkansas School for the Deaf have been known as the Leopards since 1941, three decades before the rock band Def Leppard was ever founded.
However, the famous felines became fast friends within the band toward the state in 2016, from daredevils to bull weevils, goblins and more, Arkansas is brimming with spunky and funky mascot.
Who knew there were so many one of a kind mascots in Arkansas.
Now let's turn to the student athlete.
With the emphasis on the student part, we reached out to schools all over the state looking for athletes who not only excel on the field, but in the classroom, too.
Here's the Arkansas PBS student All Stars Class of 2023.
From the to a foray in six eight classifications, we start off with Mallory Malone from the Conway Christian Eagles.
Mallory is captain of the cheer squad during football season and she plans to become a teacher and a coach.
Next up, we have Jilly Hutton with the Heber Springs Panthers.

She enjoys reading, playing sports, hiking and drawing.
And finally, we have Chloe Clardy, representing the Conway Wallace Cats.

Well, we've got a couple of minutes till we get ready to start the second half of the six day girl's state championship game.
Our Jayhawk along with Janay Williams.
Let's go and take a look at those first half stats as Janay really hits you.
If you look at the field goal percentage and this one North Little Rock's actually shooting the ball better than Conway is not much better, but a little bit better.
But is that three point shooting right now for normal rocks and keep them in the game?
I think Jamal Brown was able to hit a couple in April, was also so helpful.
And on top of that total rebounds.
Conway is out rebounding 2514 and I think that's pretty much because of one person and that's got she's killing on the offensive boards she's there to get those rebound backs and doing what she does by finishing.
So let's go ahead and take those.
Take a look at those first half highlights between both these teams and here you go.
I mean, it was just early.
Conway It was all Conway early on.
And Alexis Scott was getting it done for the old lady want this catch?
But North put her on.
They answered with a three of their own.
Another inside the arc jumper.
And it was just it was a steady pace of we're going to play defense and make shots.
And that's what got them back in this ball game to make it a three point game.
And once again, clearly Cardi, though, she has been a beast in the game because Chloe Carty has dominated not it's really been quietly honestly because she hasn't done a lot but she's got ten points right now and their team has is a big reason why they're ahead by three.
But I think, like you said, note that Iraq has just weathered the storm and, you know, got stops here and there and made shots down the stretch.
I'm I'm looking forward to see this mix there.
So we are just about sitting ready to go neither team is coming on to the coach.
I got to ask you this, okay.
You coach the Bryant Lady Hornets this year.
This is the second game now I've seen neither one of the teams come out in shootaround for halftime.
Is this kind of starting to become a trend now where you just stay in the locker room as long as you can?
Well, I think it depends on the nature of the game.
Most of the time when teams come out and shoot is because either they're here by a lot or vice versa.
But I think they have a lot to talk about during the halftime speech.
Well, both teams going to make their way back out and we're just about set and ready to go.
North Little Rock to get the basketball to start the second half and Inbounding.
It's going to be Jamal Brown on the court for North Little Rock.
He's going to be their original starting five of Garrett Freeman, Jocelyn Tate, April Edwards, Jazmine Brown and Madison Hatley.
And here's Tate with the basketball.
Nice turn in the lane goes up with the right hand but right there to get the rebound with Savannah Scott and Chloe card he's wide open down low and just going to bank it off the glass that is transition basketball at its finest as long as it's easy quick outlet everybody run.
What were your lines and as they just did, they finished with a little rock open back right side to Caden Beckwith excuse me to Freeman now he's got a whistle a foul.
So I'm going to go against Conway's Caden Beckwith.
And Conway has switched their defenses.
They started off as a team.
Three, two, one, two, one, three, one.
Now they're going, man.
So that's a good adjustment.
As Little Rock inbounds to April Edwards, Edwards going to find Tate Tate with a nice up and under and can't get it to go gets her own rebound though kicks it back left side into the lane comes back right banks it off the glass tomorrow Brown Excuse me no that was actually Sierra Evans That was a great no look pass from Freeman actually she does that so well She's a great distributor.
Now Conway's Camille Brown gives it off over to Cox down low to Scott and Scott, and she uses the size Duke to walk away and bank it off the glass and can stop it.
Oh, you wish you had a player like that.
Yes.
630 and counting up here in the third open right side.
Fade away for North Little Rock.
Thank goodness to go with.
There is a foul as it's going down hard with Sierra Evans.
How about the free throw line shooting a jump ball?
But I guess he had a better angle than what we have over here at the table.
Now.
Here's Tate right side with the runner.
Scott gets the rebound and working quickly over the wall to get it was a good shot the job not all right getting back stopping Burke all week tardy right side for three He makes it every time from that corner don't you?
Yes, I'm fazed.
I'm bothered.
And I got 15 points now.
I'm 35 and counting with the basketball goes up with the right hand trying to work it down low to Sierra Evans offensive rebound is going to go to Jamaal Brown he's fouled by Savannah.
I thought it was a clean block but my grandma Savannah's got a big call with the foul end for Conway now Savannah Scott's got three fouls three free throws no good end for as clean of a game that Savannah Scott played in the first half Three quick fouls here in the second half is going to send her to the bench and she's been a big key to their success offensively just giving it to her whether it's you know passing it or down low post it up or just having her presence down there alone is very intimidating.
Second free throw rattles him.
It's good.
It's a seven point game now we've got a timeout called and the timeout is going to be charged the coaches timeout north Little Rock as they talk this one over and you know really here in the second half it's been all about the transition Tomlin's done a really good job of transition basketball here in the second half.
They're getting those quick rebounds crashing the boards as they shoot and the guards are doing what they do.
They're running out and trying to get the pass, which is it's hard to stop when you're, you know, I guess my next question is somebody that's faced both these teams this year with Bryant.
I mean, when you're when you're trying to match up against a convoy or even a North Little Rock, when you guys kind of get creative with with how you're going to match up, you know, in transition and even walking in the half today, we when we play Conway specifically, we just saw our players just get back after every shot get back because if you don't I mean, you're not good at getting back out to you in transition.
Both teams are really well.
Chloe Card is going to bring the ball up for Conway.
It's an interesting matchup with Tatum Clardy is she's got to block it out of bounds.
You got two very aggressive players in Clardy and Tate and it's no coincidence they're calling their guard and each other in this game right now.
Jocelyn is, like I said, probably the best on ball defender that you'll see.
So Coach Campbell knows what he's doing, but she's all set up up to the challenge to guard Chloe Tatum back with with the basketball all the Camille Brown got a 10 seconds on the shot clock trying to get to Chloe Courtney down to 2 seconds Got to get it off was partially blocked and a shot clock volley in against Conway.
I don't think Conway was aware that this clock was going down right there.
I think she knew it was 3 seconds when she had in her hand she would have taken that shot for 42 left here in the third, Conway, 37 North Little Rock, 36.
Good aggressive defense at the basketball is April Edwards.
She'll go with her right hand almost has it go and she's fouled Apple is almost unstoppable when she's going downhill she's so strong she's so quick.
Brown comes out top to Jameer Brown walking in the lane We've got a whistle travel and they call the travel that time.
Yeah I think Hey Brad I think this one she came down she didn't jump start, she would have just jumped stop.
Is that the Al Conway with the basketball and we've got a whistle and a foul away and the far side the foul that time was on Darren Freeman and for Freeman that's her third personal foul Chloe Cardy lets the ball go in the back court.
There's a three point attempts by Alexis Cox.
It's no good and Tate's got the basketball working quickly.
The front court goes up with the right hand.
It's no good.
They're going to say, I was on the floor prior to and that foul is going to go against Conway's Samya Jordan, and that'll take us a media timeout.
Conway leads at 37 to 30 and you're watching the Centennial Bank State Basketball Championships on Arkansas.
PBS Sports.
There's a lot more going on in your mouth than you may realize.
Our mouths are home to 700 species of microbes, which include germs like bacteria and fungus.
These microbes live on the surface of your teeth, on your tongue and around your gums.
Some of these microbes are actually good for you, helping manage the growth of bad microbes and protecting teeth from the harmful bacteria and food.
The harmful microbes are responsible for tooth decay.
These problem causing bacteria feed on sugar in the food and drinks we consume, leaving behind a sticky film on teeth called plaque and enamel destroying acids.
The more sugar you have in your diet, the more microbes can multiply, creating more plaque and possibly damaging teeth.
So what can we do about all the bacteria in our mouths?
The good news is keeping the bad bacteria under control is as easy as following your regular home oral care routine.
Just keep brushing twice a day, flossing once a day, and seeing your dentist regularly for cleanings and exams.
Talk with your dentist If you have questions about your oral care routine at Delta Dental of Arkansas, we are proud to be the champions of your smile.

Or scan the code on your screen now to be able to give Conway North Little Rock and the six eight girls state championship and we've got a whistle blocking foul on north Little Rock that time April Edwards being called with a blocking foul out I think she was a little emphasized that she's going to step in and take the tar tonight.
I think it was a great drive by every so at the free throw line is going to be Amari Bohannon checking in the game for North Little Rock is Zakiya Hicks.
She's going to come in the ball game for Madison.
Hatley rebound taken in that time by Zakiya Hicks I think she may got away with a carry right there.
Yeah I think the crowd try to entice Allen there Here's a run out and a nice little off the glass that time by Amerigo Hannon Conway way out to a ten point lead holding the ball down low and coming away with is clearly Corey out front nice stuff off the glass it's good and it was Camille born with Conway spinning and now they're getting out of transition They're looking for each other.
Everyone is doing their job.
The extra help from Koivu on the outside to get the steal in the lanes.
Edwards shooting this video.
We've got a whistle, a foul tonight.
The foul for North Little Rock is going in.
It is going to go against is it Camille Brown or Alexis Scott?
They're going to say it's on Alexis Scott.
And for Scott, that's her second personal foul.
It throws good.
I think that was a good bail out for them because I think it was probably going to get another layup at the end.
Second free throw is good as well.
Back to a ten point game and now we've got a timeout on the floor.
It's going to be charged to North Little Rock.
It'll be a full time out with 237 to play here in the third quarter.
And as Conway is solid grown their lead here in the second half, what's really changed from the first half in the second half?
I think the tempo I'm pretty sure you know can't wait though you know with Savannah going out, they probably got a little worry.
But I think the Garden State or whoever said before for Savannah and it's like, okay, we got to do our job, so let's run the floor as a quick rebound outlets and let's try to score in transition right now.
Conway shooting 39% for the game 15 of 38 shooting North Little Rock 12 of 37 shooting for 32%.
Actually, North Little Rock led that category at halftime, but three point shooting is kind of evened out a little bit because North Little Rock 415 shooting for 27%, North Conway four of 11 for 36%.
And at the free throw line, Conway has gotten to the line eight of ten times of and in North Little Rock four of six.
I just think it comes down to who's going to be the aggressor.
Then like we said earlier, he's going to be willing to get more stops.
I was just looking at the rebounds.
Conway has ten offensive rebounds so far in the game.
Pretty impressive.
That's been winning a lot of games.
Have you always put back point is absolutely I think that's why they're they've been number one in the state for a reason.
Our season count wins got the basketball team 35 and counting third quarter what are we tardy three from the left corner It was partially blocked rebound offensively by Conway once again now north Little Rock picks it up off the Miss Tate minds He's really fouled about a block and the fans don't like that I don't know she was totally sacked coach what would you say.
I think it was a charge today only because Joslyn like leaned into her song but officially but once again though with it in the moment, that's what one of the hardest calls in basketball we here's another look at it from the top side.
Hey I honestly think that you could probably go either way with Tiger as she makes the second one.
I, I see the point where you're saying where she leaned into it.
I don't know if she was totally said all the way.
The other way.
It's 42, 33, 2 minutes to play.
Third quarter at the basketball for Conway so some Jordan butts on a foul.
And it also seems to me like the whistles have gone a little bit tighter as this game is going on.
Yes, I was just thinking the same thing like there was a lot of bodies in the floor in the first half and they type that up a little bit here in the second half.
But right there you saw two hands get put on her and that's going to be a foul every time.
That was a foul this year.
I think both teams about being aggressive, trying to get down here, trying to attack, get to the rim, rebounds, go are the free throws good back to a ten point game I help girl as well of Little Rock with the basketball now just a little apple has to get going offensively to cut this lead down rebound downtown Nice double team they got an obvious play from the corner though Good rebound pulled in by North Little Rock Tamar Brown that was good by can't wait getting back to stop their first in the lane goes Tate Nice spin with the right hand It's up and good Tate's now got seven points and we're down to a minute left in the third and that just throwing it away that time Camille Brown trying to find somebody just doesn't want it North Little Rock Tate a left corner going to make a nice move and get to the basket.
That's what she does.
She she her first step is extremely quick.
And if you're not broke down in this fire, she's gonna blow straight past you, just as she just did.
David, 20 seconds on third shot clock turned off the seven point game for Conway Tate.
Back with the basketball back with the drive left side down to 3 seconds.
Puts up a shot.
That was Alexis Scott.
She's fouled good they they call the foul on three Freeman she reached in at the end and that's four on her Oh she's a facilitator and the starting point guard which was good Now the 2.2 seconds left here in the third.
Everyone's up and good as well.
4637 and a last heave is going to be no good.
We head to a fourth quarter ugly six eight girls state championship game where Todd way they lead north Little Rock 4637.
We're watching the Centennial Bank state basketball championship but Arkansas PBS Sports Centennial Bank is committed to you.

That's why at Big Red Stores, you're always the MVP of the Big Red team.
Big red stores now, more convenient than ever, I think is going to be back here at back aged care If you missed any of this, well, that's how got here.
It was a shooting spree early on between both these schools.
North Little Rock got hot late in the first half and then it's been all Conway here in the second half.
There's Cauley Carty just getting things done a lot of drive to the basket a lot of fouls but slowly cards so far in this game has got 15 points and she's led all scorers throughout this one and Zo and then there's Tate as well But right now it's 4637 Conway leading north Little Rock in the final quarter of the six day girl's state championship game tonight with the basketball as the ball was kicked out of bounds.
It's going to stay with Conway.
It went off of those Little Rock player Alexis Scott was trying to get to the bucket and we've got another foul as that time for Conway August Scott was once again trying to get up there.
R.J. Hogg along with Shannon Williams for this six eight title game, but a fun one so far.
Bill lived up to everything we've expected at this game.
Yes, both teams doing what they do were going to the wire.
Scott's back in the game, back post and up.
They got to feed it to.
So with the ball quality wants it down low has got to go up with a nice hook shot Savannah Scott Just the size has a good turnaround She has a miss she's five four 5 to 9 point game April Edwards drives and she's fouled I think it was before the shot on the floor so they call it foul on Conway's Alexis Cox and that's third And so April Edwards hit the free throw line to shoot in and out.
No good time only gets the rebound.
This time for Conway.
Emory Bohannan just runs by a defender.
Yeah, that's so easy.
And North Little Rock is a much better defensive team than a foul.
I was Conway I go back to Scott positive note they haven't had an answer for Scott he's playing with four fouls all got deflected the way down to seven on the shot clock and now we've got a whistle a timeout charge to Conway.
Give me a 32nd timeouts to keep it right here as he got seven.
So okay I'm going to go to coach on this one You got seven on the shot talks.
You've got the ball right in front of your own bench.
What are you working on?
Getting the ball and to close Florida and allowing Savannah Scott to steal her man underneath and just pass it in there to her.
And you, ABC don't get the bucket or she don't look to the fact you know Savannah Scott I was watching her down low she's not really trying to be too aggressive because they don't want to get that off ball foul and let her pick up her fifth foul.
But I think, oh, because it's really hard to get around this.
All thanks.
Yes, they do much to post up down there to get position.
Well she's she's going up against Cierra Evans who's here Evans stands at six to Savannah Scott's at six for and Savannah uses her body really well She she knows how to get positions down there but this is either going to be a Clardy or Scott Carty with the ball down to five on the shot clock and we've got a jump ball with 3 seconds now on the shot clock and the position arrow goes in favor of North Little Rock, 644 and counting got away on top 4837 April.
Edwards pulling up from inside the arc misses her shot Ball's on the turf on the court number five ball we're going to jump ball and that was a good shot by was she got to her spot you know it just didn't kudos to Conway for pressing the board and signed the ball up so they could get the possession back was going to bring it up.
Conway Back to quality glory in the lane with the floater going to be knocked out of bounds.
It's going to stay with Conway checking the game for Conway as we saw Maya Jordan as well as Camille Brown coming out of the ball game.
Amari Bohannan along with Ted Beckwith.
There's a nice jumper for the right side and that gives Conway 50 of a nice inbounds play.
It was a great finish.
April Edwards stands just to the right of the jump circle, gets around a nice screen, pulls up for three and makes that has a great screen top at the top to get Chloe Cardi off of her to allow her to step up and hit the three.
And it was an even better shot.
But it was just to realize, okay, I got the 2 seconds and she's not only let me stop, but she she knocked it down very sharp.
So we've got a timeout on the floor and it's charged to Conway.
541 left is back to a ten point game and no North Little Rock staying in striking distance right now as we've still got immediate timeout left to get to.
I think they're going to have probably a shot a glass of full court pressure or, you know, try to get some steals and cut it to a single point deficit.
Well so far in this game Conway shooting 39% north unorthodox shooting 36 but the points the paint is where it's right now because Conway's got 26 points in the paint that only 12 for North Little Rock.
Yes there's definitely been a difference and I think a lot of that has to do with Savannah Scott.
Those offensively bounds and even their guard when they crash and get those extra points.
So that right there is always the tail off to her and look at the screen right here Offensive rebounds 12 to 6 right now in favor of Conway in the got a block out especially against great basketball things like Conway because if not they're going to make you pay for that 4541 left will still be the 40 but everybody wants us dead So you go there for corporation inbounds going to come as it was Smith Jordan who got it off the inbounds Moses and can affect the illegal screen on Conway she rolled before she came off she did a single to Conway They've got 19 fouls so far You and that foul really because the guard went too early she didn't give Savannah time to get there and get her feet set is take take goes up into the lane.
Well icardi with the right hands he's fouled bucket goes over the free throw line to shoot he and Conway doing what they do doing at the other end of the court Savannah Scott Holder George she got hit as Tate went up I think as long as she stepped over stepped over and helped side and got that deflection.
It's north.
Little Rock has to get back in transition.
They got to stop.
Conway It was good takes that to a 13 point lead North little rocks April Edwards in the lane banks it off the glass the bucket girls was got on Walker Bougainville Nice that was a great breakdown April I mean she she doing what she does she can shoot the three she can beat you off the dribble and then she was just strong and finished in that two and one half points.
I think the charges that have been called could either go I mean, the blocks could go either way.
I agree with you.
They've been really, really close.
There's not just been a defensive, you know, charge of block so far in this game.
They've all been really, really close, you know, And as I said, I knew they were going to try to do this full court press.
You just, you know, try to get some steals.
You got to get it in.
Now we've got whistles and a timeout charge to Conway.
It'll be a 32nd timeout.
So if it's a coach hut draft right now and you see that full court pressure I mean you call the second timeout is it just a calm your kids down.
What are you talking about right now.
Basically telling them be poise, get open and since they're man to man, just whoever gets the ball, everybody else needs to clear out.
But definitely you got to get it in.
Ball 48 left here in the ball game.
John Wayne leads by ten over north Little Rock, just six on the inbound for Conway.
It's going to be Camille Brown crashing through Long Cauley so the inbound is going to come from some air Jordan are two of some survive Jordan she'll get in the front the back with Joslin in space and Chloe left outside the back with an it's going to bring it back out 110 on the shot clock it's fake with with a right hand she's fouled I think that's a good thing about Conway even though their best player is being face guards the guards are good enough to make a move and get to the basket and create something for themselves, which makes them really tough to beat.
Sherri throws up as no good.
Got a pair of those.
At least one Brown comes up, Chloe Torrey comes down with it The run out right side This is bad They take them down the rebound Tatum the way she stars it in free throw line but she'll do it after the media timeout as the foul is going to be called a believer are they going to call that on Tonya's take backwards?
I believe they are.
So as they reset we will as well.
We've reached the final media timeout.

So Tate knocks down the free throws as Chloe Card is getting a lot of pressure in the back court card he drives with a floater, doesn't go rebounds, pull in by backward now Here's the run out for North Little Rock Go on quick with the right hand No good rebounds take it in by Conway and there's a foul and bodies were hit the floor The foul is going to be called on Jameer Brown North Little Rock is in the bonus so Conway will be shooting for the remaining of the game 5344.
That's a shout out to my buddy Chris Ellis, who's watching the game tonight.

And before they did the sessions where they did, too, they would go like six games a day and you'd be in here like 9:00 at night going, Whoa, what time is it outside time, 330 on the game clock and we've got an offensive foul, you know, where it will see move.
Just trying to get April shot off, coming off the screen to get down here or coming off of the three.
But it was that was a good call 5440 for Chloe Carter is going to bring the ball in the front court, open around the screen, going to try to take as much time off the clock, you think.
But now they go hit with inside cut offensive rebounds galore right now from Tomlin but coming up with it was Freeman for north Little Rock that was Savannah's first Minnesota night.
It was a great pass and there was a nice pass.
Moses Bucket is Sarah Evans is able to knock it home.
It's going to come down to the wire right here.
No, I got to get a stop right here.
Right side is throwing it up.
Rebound by Conway Put back is good it was Alexis got Mike Johnson is looking to push right here Tate puts one up it's no good offensive rebound by Sierra Evans but the run out by Conway.
A close call extends only Here's Edwards for three no good off the hands of Conway's Camille Brown from North Little Rock will keep possession of the basketball with 201 to play of the game and now we've got a timeout charge taken away asking for a full timeout.
So two on one led to this one.
It's 5846 right now.
Conway shooting 38% for the game North Little Rock 35 from the three point line overall five of 17 for 29% Conway for 13 for 31%.
Hey Arkansas PBS is proud to bring you the high school basketball state finals live.
We'll be back in May with the baseball on state finals and looking forward to that because you know those are mean Conway this year and myself and Bobby Schwarber called that the bomb we're all gonna be up in Conway get to hang out That's my world of honor over there you see So I get to go there and see what's happening on the U.S. campus and watch more state state championship basketball games to be a lot of fun.
Hey, what else is going to be a lot of fun is the six day Boys game, which is coming up next.
And that's to make the point between Jonesboro and Springdale ought to be a lot of fun.
Jonesboro is no stranger to the state championship game, and that'll be up next here on Arkansas PBS Inbound pass comes to April, Edwards to Edwards in the lane.
Floater doesn't go, but we've got whistles and fouls so the foul is going to go against Chloe Cawley.
That'll be her second personal foul both teams in the bonus so they'll both be shooting on every foul the remainder of the game.
April has to make these right here and now we've got a whistle and they whistle it before the shot coach fumbles not happy because he's he's he's he's want to know why they blew it dead right as she was in her shot so she gets one more so she'll start over is the first free throws good sack of free throws good as well.
Conway can use the clock to their advantage right here.
And you don't want to have to take a shot.
You don't want to say, well, you know, and every time you think someone's going to run the clock down, run that shot clock down, they they end up, you know, getting a shot off at 12 seconds.
But now here's a turnover.
And also the eyes can't get it back is they're down by ten with a minute 35.
Well, defensively they're starting to do their run and not trying to trap and force you to turn it over just as they did.
And glory, Glory steals it away.
They go one out.
It's good as Alexis dunks as they get it in Portland is feeling it.
But yeah, the three ball was partially blocked.
Chloe Kelly's got it.
Oh Brown to a more like in this one.
You can hear the Cowboys fans their field is going to fall tomorrow.
Jordan and Charlotte and the free throw line shoot to shoot.
You see the house in style.
Chloe Savannah and seniors have bigger journey that awaits them.
But you're sweet, you know, It never gets old watching.
No matter who wins.
It's just watching the.
The expressions on the faces, especially the seniors and all that hard work and sacrifice you put in for your program.
And to be in this position three point attempt is good from downtown.
That was all that was done to my brown down the 40 seconds, which got it down to 10 seconds on the shot clock quality.
You got to bang it off the glass shot clock's been turned off.
Cox is going to shoot for three.
It's no good.
Put back is still no good.
Oh, he is trying to get it.
Go fall.
He does.
And that's going to do it.
But Broadway walkers get their six state championships.
They win it 62 to 53.
You're watching the Centennial State Basketball Championships on Arkansas.
PBS Sports.
Back here at Broncos, you can win.
Either you champions the Galloway lady off this.
Can they get it done today by a final score of 62 to 53?
And now joined by the head coach, Ashley Hutch Kraft, the winningest coach in this game, and coach, he didn't come easy.
You've seen you've seen this team two other times this year.
You knew what you were getting into.
You know, it was a dogfight all the way to the end.
Absolutely.
I mean, you know, the saying it's hard to be the team three times in the year and especially team is good as North Little Rock.
And, you know, obviously this is home to them kind of so you know they had that experience over over us in this game situation so I was super proud.
Coach, what was your message to your seniors and to your team like going into this game?
Sure.
You know, after last year, we talked a lot about just writing your story and, you know, before the game, hey, here's the ending of the story.
And we kind of talked about how when we were kids, know those books where you can pick the ending.
And I just told them I was like, Hey, you get to pick your ending today, so it's up to you.
And I think those school seniors responded to Coach.
Real quick point.
You know, Khloe today, Savannah Scott and we know what they meant to this team, but the leadership for the program, what's it been like?
You know, they're going to leave a big hole, but they're leaving a legacy.
They're leaving a legacy that younger players can look up to and go, hey, I want to be the next Khloe party.
I want to be the next Savannah Scott Oh, you know, they both are so very different, but they're super competitive, so we're going to miss them.
But man, they deserve this ring.
So I'm proud of and I congratulate him.
Thank you so much for doing that.
I appreciate it.
Thank you.
Appreciate you.
Ashley Hutch Kraft, the head coach for one of your final stats.
And this one, look at this.
I mean, field goal percentage.
Conway had it 38 to 33 or three point percentage.
Brown Really for 13 six of 20.
And on the free throws, 7664 turnovers were Northern Rock had more turnovers in the game but total rebounds 4135.
Now joined by Khloe guarding Khloe.
You know, I was just talking to coach about the legacy that you've left on this team, kind of the hands up book right.
Wrote the final chapter.
What's this mean to you?
It means a lot.
I've been looking forward to this moment since I was a little girl and I used to come to these games.
So to finally be here, it means a lot.
It's an incredible.
Khloe, I noticed that you were they had tagged on you, Jocelyn Tate on you most of the game.
Was that a fun match up between going back and forth with you and.
Oh, yeah.
She's a good defender.
She's long.
And so I knew what I had to work on my stuff to get my shot off.
So that's what I did.
Khloe What was it like?
What was your your conversation with your team going into this game as a leader, as a senior, getting ready to play?
What will be your final game of your high school career?
It's just we had one more.
We worked all year.
This nobody sees what we do outside of what's on TV, what we show.
So we worked every day of practice all year for this moment, so we had to finish it out.
Well, hey, congratulations on the win.
Good luck when you head off to college.
We'll be keeping up with you.
Thank you.
And thank you.
That's Khloe Tardy as she is your tournament MVP for this one.
Well That's going to do it for this one.
Shanna Williams, you did an outstanding job.
You know what?
If you don't if you don't want to do the coaching thing or you can lose is okay.
Thank you for having me.
Thank Tonight with I'm RJ Hawks.
Your final score in this one it's a Conway Whomping Cat 62, North Little Rock 53.
