Well, welcome into the six day state championship game between Bentonville and Harbor.
Great to be with you, Alyssa Orange alongside Michael Westbrook.
And we were able to watch from the baseball stadium the top of the first.
And it is still scoreless between the Harbor Wildcats and the Bentonville Tigers right now.
Bentonville the home team in this one violent win, the center fielder up to bat, Kylie Wyman, grounded out to the shortstop to start things off here in the bottom of the first, Maria Jimenez.
She also grounded out to short for the outnumber to.
So two out here for Violet win.
And we'll break down exactly what happened for the Wildcats in the top of the first here in just a minute.
But this is going to be an exciting one.
Michael.
This is take three.
Yeah the championship game between Bentonville and Harbor for the third straight year.
And they lost last year.
Harbor did by one run.
Same thing two years ago trying to get over that hump and defeat Bentonville for a state championship.
And with two outs.
I'm not going to say too much here to let you get settled in.
We'll recap this first inning here in just a moment, but a little bit of a mixed bag for the Derby.
Burnett the starting pitcher for Bentonville a moment ago.
Cierra dots in the circle.
Now these are two outstanding pitchers.
We've got a great matchup set.
Yes we do.
And this one is going to be fun.
Win takes her base.
She heads down to first base for the first base runner for the Bentonville Tigers.
And that brings up Aubrey Eland, the catcher for the Tigers.
One thing that Sierra Dos is going to have to do is make sure that she can try to control these Bentonville Tigers bats.
Home runs are what they do this season.
We'll talk about that homerun journey and the records that they have said.
And it was actually Aubrey Eland, who hit the Arkansas State record breaking home run against Rogers, a few weeks ago to give them 55 on the season.
They've got 59 right now, but just an impressive showing offensively for the Tigers.
But that's what you get and that's what you expect from a Kent early team.
Oh absolutely.
No doubt about that.
And his alma mater Monticello one Championship earlier today as well.
So yeah he's going to try to get to two I guess for his hometown.
And in a roundabout way that would be nice to wrap up the day.
You know, Bentonville and Harper already played for a state championship today, by the way.
That was down at the boys soccer field Bentonville victorious for the soccer state championship.
Yeah, I mean, Bentonville and Harbor.
Between baseball and softball and soccer fans could be spread out all over Hot Springs and take in quite a bit of, either Bentonville or Harbor action here today and tomorrow as well.
That's right.
You know, the boys will play baseball later on tonight for Harbor.
They will take on Bryan.
And so if you're down at the softball field, you'll turn around and come back here, hang out with us at the baseball stadium for the nightcap here at Babe Ruth Field at Majestic Park.
That is, if you're a Wildcats fan.
So two down to three.
One count here to Aubrey Lynn.
She sees ball four.
And that is the first walk of the day for Cierra Dots.
And a second base runner for the Tigers.
Well though the walks have given me more time than I thought, here in this first inning.
Looked like we were headed towards a 1 to 3 with the two ground outs, but a couple of runners after that and and that was really what the top half of the first was like.
As well as Darby Burnett had a leadoff walk, then a strike them out, throw them out two down, bases empty, then another walk, and then she gets a strikeout looking.
That's how the top half of the first inning went.
So it was a little bit of, inconsistency with some good pitching, no damage done in that top of the first.
And here we are in the bottom of the first inning with, a threat happening.
Yeah, an opportunity for the Tigers to get on the board first, to talk about what Darby Burnett was able to do in the first.
And credit to the Wildcats batters who really battled in the batter's box.
Excuse me.
Really driving up that pitch count in the first inning here?
Yeah.
Two teams that as they played each other in the regular season, low scoring games.
Of course, we got plenty of time to talk about the last two state championship matchups, but one run ball games as well.
And I expect it to be low scoring because of the caliber of pitching in the circle.
But you just never know.
It's sun is shining, the bad weather appears to be gone.
And, who knows, the ball might fly out of here at some point.
Yeah, let's see how it goes.
I'm going to knock on wood just because we have had weather on and off.
I've been rained on.
You've been rained on.
Changed a couple of times, but we finally got some sun and hopefully it stays that way here as we get softball started in this six day championship, A11 count here on the freshman Mae Wagner two one for Wagner to try to see if she can get some runs across the board for the Tigers.
And of course, this was a 4:00 start scheduled start time.
But they ended up starting this game at 502, so the teams had to sit around for about an extra hour as well.
I tell you why, there's a lot of probably that she strikes out a lot of cheering going on and ways to kill the time while they waited for this game to start.
We are going to head to the second here.
After this break, you are watching the Centennial Bank, State baseball and softball championships on Arkansas TV sports.

Welcome back to Majestic Park here in Hot Springs, as the six day state championship game between Bentonville and Harbor continues to roll on, we have played one here at Majestic Park, and we are now in the top of the second.
Great to be with you.
A little orange alongside Michael Westbrook, joining a little bit late in the broadcast because of the baseball game just ending a few moments ago.
So let's get through this Harbor lineup at the beginning of the lineup.
To start things off, we had Brylee Bratcher, Savannah Woods, Jasmine Thomas, and Kennedy Smith, Sierra Dots here, the pitcher inside the batter's box to face Darby Burnett.
After her is Annalise Abe and Grace McKinley.
Savannah mounts and Olivia Tingley.
That is your lineup for the Harbor Wildcats.
And against Sierra, Dot's the pitcher the junior committed to the University of Missouri.
Facing the Texas A&M signee and Darby Burnett.
A great matchup here to that.
We're going to talk about throughout the course of this game.
Now Sierra only 33 at bats this year doesn't hit every single game, but hitting 394.
It's a good average coming into the state championship.
Well, if there's anyone who is going to help you win a state championship, it will be Sierra Dotson.
She gets a hold of that one, sends it deep into right field.
That one caught on the run by Olivia Tingley.
Well done.
And executed against the wall.
She tracked that down beautifully Michael.
Fantastic grab.
Going back on it we said we thought the might see the ball fly out.
We know Bentonville has got some power hitters.
But here's Harbor trying to strike first early.
And a great catch in right field up against the wall.
You know Darby Burnett loving that from her defense.
Now she will face the Harbor Wildcats catcher and analyst Saban.
And that's the thing in these low scoring games between these two teams it's pitching its defense.
The two big things that are going to win out.
Ultimately, those are usually the things that help you win a championship as well.
And the other thing to consider, yes, it's turf and yes, it's it looks nice and whatnot, but it has been raining so much here that turf is still going to be slick for a while.
You're going to have to figure out exactly how you want to play the ball.
It just plays differently, even on a dry day, than it does the dirt and the grass.
You talk about the home runs and how Bentonville able to set an Arkansas state record with 59 right now, they surpassed that record of 54 with a home run against Rogers.
On the other side of things, Springdale Harbor only has 12 total, and Elise Avon's got two of those 12.
So they have a little bit of power here.
But nothing like what Bentonville is able to accomplish this season.
Yeah, none for dots.
I would have been her first.
She just missed it by a couple of feet.
Quite the difference in the power numbers between these two teams.
Even battling A22 count.
That was one thing.
As you were going over what happened in the top of the first for Darby Burnett, credit the Harbor Wildcats hitters for really driving up that pitch count.
Like we talked about.
A lot of full counts.
They're making her work for it inside of the circle, not giving her anything easy.
Another strikeout though, her third of the day and again goes back to the dugout.
Burnett this season 17 and two overall record.
She had walked only 34 batters the entire season.
So a little bit uncharacteristic to have those two walks in the first.
But now the strikeout total, as you said, starting to add up early.
Well, Grace McKinley is going to be your D.H.
today.
She is just batting 186.
Hasn't had too many appearances so far.
43 total at bats this season.
They feel good about her bat to put her in the lineup here in this state championship game.
Yeah, and it's one thing the Harbor coach was saying.
I read up on a couple of the articles, in the different newspapers, and he was saying, you know, he played a lot of players early in the year, but, you know, you see that you get later in the postseason, the bench gets a little bit shorter.
But some people do that starting in conference play.
He did that only about two, two and a half weeks ago really is when he started narrowing down that roster.
Well, we've talked about Darby Burnett.
Let's look around the rest of the infield in her defense Taylor Crisp at third base, Kiley Wyman the shortstop, Bella Mirrors at second base and Lana Carlton at first base.
Behind the plate is Aubrey Elion, catching for Darby Burnett around the outfield, Kate Manus, Violet Wynn and Marissa Jeune.
She she was the one who caught that long fly ball by Sierra Docks.
They're in right field.
And she of course played in last year's game.
A lot of these players did have young teams then.
And it's just it's it's the Northwest Arkansas rivalry.
It's their third time to play this year of course is conference foes.
Third straight state championship just really doesn't get much better than that.
In fact, it was an all, six a West semifinal.
All four teams out of the six a West.
So they were guaranteed spots in the Championship.
Yeah, that one played at Fayetteville for the boys and the girls in the six.
A very exciting weekend last weekend up in Northwest Arkansas.
And you talk about the third time that these teams have faced in the state championship, third time that they have faced this year in the regular season.
Harbor actually beat Bentonville back in April for the very first time, 4 to 3 and a one run game since 2011.
Wow.
By one run.
Just one run by one run.
15 years.
And it snapped a 23 game conference winning streak for Bentonville.
Wow.
A big time win.
Harbor kind of getting that monkey off their back.
Got a lot of confidence though heading into this state championship game.
Then still able to claim the conference championship.
And so they've got that little thing marked off of their to do list.
But now this is just going to be a great game.
Between these two teams excited to see these pitchers battle.
And I think it really could come down to one inning, one big hit.
Well, these two teams know each other so well.
That one in for ball.
So A21 count here on Savannah mouse mount the left fielder.
The pitching matchup has always been exciting between Sierra Darts and Darby Burnett.
Even going back to last year's state championship game.
And it really is all about who can get some runs going, who can manufacture some hits together to get those runs.
And man, they're valuable and they know it.
That one outnumber three.
The ground out by mounts ends the top of the second here for the Wildcats.
We head to the bottom of the second and the Tigers another opportunity for their offense.

Welcome back.
It is now the bottom of the second here between Bentonville and Harbor, still scoreless between these two teams, which is no surprise early here.
Yeah Alyssa a few keys to the game in this one.
When you think about Harbor, they're pitching and Sierra Dots are going to have to keep the ball down.
We've already talked about the big home run numbers from Bentonville this year and the power that they have.
Can't let that ball come across the middle of the plate where they can get Ahold of one and send it out of here on the other side of things.
For Bentonville, really, it's just about composure and staying calm, remembering they've been here before.
State champions four of the last five years.
An impressive, impressive run that coach early has his team on right now.
Their player to watch is Darby Burnett, a 17 and two record.
But on the other side, as we're seeing in the circle right now, Sierra Dot's 147 and two thirds innings pitched, a less than one E.R.A.
0.758 231 strikeouts.
What an amazing number that is.
Yeah, absolutely.
And she is.
Oh that one off the glove of Savannah Mount in left field.
That is going to give extra bases for Bella mirrors and Bentonville jumping out early.
The double for Mears the second baseman and a runner in scoring position.
Well good piece of hitting right there and just a slight miscue going after that.
Baseball results in the extra base all the way down to second now and Bentonville with the momentum early with runner in scoring position.
I think Mount thought that ball was going to drop a little bit sooner than it did, and just bounced off of the top of her glove.
This is Lana Carlton, the first baseman now at the plate for the Tigers.
Really good pitch right there to come back with that runner in scoring position.
Throw a strike right past her.
Get ahead of the batter.
Fouled back 357 average for the lefty.
Not afraid to go up there and swing.
Obviously going after the first two.
That outside corner which we saw given a lot for a strike in our early game today in the foray between Warren and Monticello.
Not so much in this one.
Try to get that one to chase.
And she did not.
That was close.
Looked a little bit outside showing bunt.
Don't think that's going to happen though.
That one caught I believe in foul territory.
It looked like it shifted foul.
Or did Savannah Woods caught it in foul territory for outnumber one.
So.
Bellemare stays at second base and Income's Kate Maness.
Maness going to go and play collegiately.
And my neck of the woods over at Longwood University.
Okay.
Farmville, Virginia.
Anyone knows where that is?
I had a lot of friends, including my aunts and my cousins, go to Longwood.
Well, when you're an eight hole hitter and you're hitting 400, isn't that impressive?
Well, that's that's just a Bentonville Tigers lineup.
Like.
Well, that's just what it looks like.
Nope.
You are exactly right.
A lot of, high numbers in this lineup.
Batting averages 405 hundred range.
And, we we talked about it.
They've got a lot of power, but yet Harbor's been able to keep them in check in low scoring games the last couple of years.
So Dot's ahead in the count there.
Oh and two trying to get her to chase.
Maness doesn't take.
And so she sees ball one.
That one little little high in there for ball two.
There's some heat on that pitch.
We don't have a radar gun out there.
But you can hear the hogs.
Yeah absolutely.
The glove.
Fouled back staying alive battling here is man is the number eight hitter as we mentioned for the Bentonville Tigers.
The third baseman Taylor Crisp standing on the on deck circle.
Swing and a miss.
And another strikeout for Sierra Dots that is outnumber two.
And that's his second strikeout of the game.
Great pitch.
Just could not catch up to that as it, went past Maness there.
And it's a really good pitch as you said.
Second strike out already starting to get rolling a little bit.
You know, the leadoff double was probably more like a a single, but, you know, goes down as two bases.
So really not a whole lot of damage done there by Dot's.
And she's got a chance to get out of this.
Now with the runner in scoring position and two down.
Well Taylor Crisp comes to the plate.
She is a senior third baseman going to play softball.
And Newman to start her college career.
But of course she's much more focused right now at the game at hand and trying to see if she can knock in the runner in scoring position.
Bellemare still at second base after that leadoff double.
I would make the Sun Belt reference, but I don't know if people would get it, you know Newman, Jerry, it's been a few years.
Depends on the audience, Michael I guess so, yeah, student athletes would probably not get it.
Maybe if their parents watch, maybe, maybe.
All right, well, it looks like Annabelle even wants to go out there and just kind of talk to Dot's a little bit, maybe about some communication or what she's seeing in the box behind the plate.
Can't early.
The head coach, longtime head coach for Bentonville talking to Chris there.
She walks now back to the batter's box.
Well, I did a number of great American Conference softball tournament championships up at his facility.
Yes.
Bentonville with, his his late father, Alva, early coaching from University of Arkansas, Monticello.
Nearly a decade of that.
And so it's, it's fun to be able to get to call a high school game as well.
That involves an early.
Yes.
Well, of course, you know, they come from a family of coaching.
You mentioned his dad.
I'll be, of course, his brothers, coaches as well, basketball coaches, his other brother, a defensive line coach at Missouri.
Well, Chris brother's ninth spot has two home runs with some power.
Does not chase and gets the walk.
So we are now back at the top of the lineup and we will see on television for the very first time, leadoff batter Kylie Wyman.
She grounded out to third base her first time at the plate to start things off, but now she's got runners on two on for her to see if Bentonville can get something going offensively.
With two down.
Oh, that one a bit low.
This is an important spot for dots because again Wyman you talk about the leader when it comes to hitting a 532 batting average.
She's got runners on.
She wants to give her team the early lead here in the second inning.
This going to be a power matchup.
Yeah.
Strike zone it's pretty tight.
Pretty tight right now.
It is.
To account for in favor of the batter here.
That one in there paints the outside corner for strike one.
Strike!
Let's go, let's go.
Girl.
Good pitch right there to go after a good job to, just kind of wait on it.
Wyman still ahead in counting.
Wait and see what she likes.
That one.
Driven to Sienna Henderson at second.
Over to first for the out, and the threat is over.
The Wildcats get out of the inning.
No runs, two left on base.
Still A00 game here as we now head to the top of the third between Bentonville and Harbor, you are watching the Centennial Bank State Championships on Arkansas TV sports.

Yeah.
Welcome back to Majestic Park.
It's Harbor and Bentonville in the six, a state championship.
And it's time for our trivia question for Alyssa, who holds the Arkansas high school record for singles in a career.
We're going to wait to happening or so before we give you the answer.
She'll think about it.
Not nearly as recent as last night's trivia, I'll tell you that.
Okay, so I feel like it's in your neck of the woods and not mine.
Hey, how about that, See how that worked out?
They're just, you know, spreading the love around here and our trivia.
Nobody knows who I am though.
So that's the thing.
That's not true at all.
They have to think about it for a second.
That's not true.
Welcome back.
Good to be with you here in the top of the third.
Olivia Tingley going to lead things off here.
The number nine batter the right fielder for the Wildcats.
I get some numbers for you Alex around tries to get the bunt.
It is caught.
Great job by Taylor Chris to come in there charging from third base to get the out.
Five walks already in this game and four strikeouts in just the third inning.
Quite a bit.
That's kind of going to be the tone here between these two teams and the battles that they continue to have against each other.
Every single time I see some careful pitching around, some powerful hitters and also some patient batters, but pitchers are going to get their numbers, by the time it's all said and done as well as are adding up on the strikeouts already.
So we are back to the top of the lineup for the Wildcats.
Brylee Bratcher, the center fielder going to face Derby Burnett for the second time.
Her first time up, she walked but then was caught stealing on a strike him out.
Throw him out.
And you'd expect this out of the leadoff hitter, but the most played appearances on the team with 111 83 at bats.
I told you, she's walked a lot or been hit by pitches quite a bit.
Sitting with a 3.37 average does her job to get on base.
For 82 on base percentage, right?
Just underneath that one.
Yeah.
Yeah.
She's a big swing there too as well.
And for, Riley who walked her first time up trying to get on base for the second time in a row, going a little different approach that time by swinging away.
Well, when Darby Burnett gives you something you think you can hit, you try to take it for a ride.
And as we mentioned, how closely these two teams have played each other over the years, runners on the base passes, critical runs in general, they're going to be critical.
And you want to be aggressive here at the plate.
Called that one ball forward so she will walk once more and finds herself on first base.
We'll see if they get aggressive and maybe try to see if she can steal second.
With Savannah Woods up, Savannah striking out her first time at bat in the first inning.
She's got 28 hits this season and she's walked 24 times.
That's impressive that she'd have that many walks compared to hits.
Speaks to the patience that she has in the batter's box.
You'll love to see it.
She sits there and walks.
Watches strike one.
Clouds out in.
Savannah woods hitting for 13 out of that two spot.
Trying to bunt there.
And you know that you see that often of course in softball.
But with her power numbers I would think she's trying to maybe just catch Bentonville off guard a little bit.
I don't think we'll see her bunt too often.
Probably not.
Again, a lot of power here at the top of the lineup for the Wildcats.
Like you said, I'd tell her, swing away.
Staying off that pitch outside for another ball.
01.099 the four digits slugging 609.
And she's got you know, we talk about maybe not as many power numbers in the Harbor lineup, but she's got them.
Now.
And that one another walk.
And you know Michael I have to say as we sit here and just strike out sorry.
Oh I'm sorry.
Thank you.
Yep.
That's a strikeout.
I apologize because.
There has been a pitching change for Bentonville.
There is Daylan Osborne in the circle.
And so Darby Burnett no longer in the circle at the moment for Bentonville.
Daylan Osborne is in.
And she has gotten some of the rotation this year along with Burnett.
That's something we'll likely look into.
And why a nine and one record on the season?
She's got two saves, but of course, so much of the pitching has been done by Burnett.
So that is something we will look into.
On why we are seeing Osborne here in the top of the third.
Yeah 65 innings for Osborne, 65 innings.
She has played in 17 games.
But it's certainly an interesting move here in the third inning to go to another pitcher.
And so Osborne actually started the inning.
So she faced Tingley and Bratcher and Woods and now will face Jasmine Thomas with A21 count.
Thomas walks her first time up when she faced Burnett.
A swing there making it two two and a great job by Osborne to battle back right away.
With two back to back strikes coming up a little bit empty that time, Thomas.
Thomas who walked the first time around.
Also another one of the power hitters for 33.
Average swing and a miss.
And Osborne gets the strike out.
Bentonville heads back to the dugout.
Harbor strands one.
We are now headed to the bottom of the third here in this six day state championship game.

Well, welcome back.
And you presented this question, a trivia question to me in the audience.
And I think we got an answer.
Yeah.
And you said in my neck of the woods or close to it.
Yep.
Right there as of course, I teach at Bryan High School.
Reagan Ryan 165 is the answer.
From 2015 to 2018.
And you know what?
They're about an hour away from the Bryant Hornets and the Harbor Wildcat baseball teams taking on each other in the six A baseball final as well.
So big day for Harbor with both of their teams here.
Marissa she at the plate to start things off in the third.
And we've talked about home runs for Bentonville.
So let's go ahead and let that unfold.
They had the record at 50 and then it was taken back.
They broke tied the record.
Excuse me off a Grand slam by GNC at 54.
Then the following game their final game of the regular season against Rogers, as I mentioned, Aubrey Island hit the 55th home run to get that record.
And then in the same game, Kylie Wyman hit 56, Lana Carlton hit 57, and Violet Wynn hit 58.
Then the next day, Violet Wynn hit 59.
So right now they are at 59.
And I was talking to head coach or assistant coach Lindsey Davis.
She said, man, it'd be really great to get an even 60 here in the state.
Champ.
Why stop there though?
Sure.
But you know, an even 60 just feels like a nice round it out number.
There you go.
Not saying that they're just going to strive on the long ball, but what a season it has been for home runs.
It's been an exciting one.
If you like offense and you're a fan of the Bentonville Tigers.
Well, and you're right, it's not just home runs.
They've got five players with nine or more doubles as well.
Gee.
And she down the third base line mishandled a little bit there by Kennedy Smith.
And she is safe at first base to lead things off here in the third.
Yeah I'll check the official stats here in a second.
I would probably call that a base hit.
She was having to move over a little bit, but it did go right up into the glove so could be an error.
We'll wait and see officially, but either way, she's on it first.
Oh girl.
Regardless how it's scored, there's a runner on first base now for the Tigers and for Violet Winn.
And we talked about the power she has that one taken back up the middle down for a ground ball.
And I tell you what I don't think she even paused as she rounded second base there.
And now you've got runners on the corners and an opportunity to score the very first run of the game here for the Tigers.
Yeah, that was ruled a E5 on a she reached base so that error could come back to haunt Harbor here.
Especially with Winn just jumping on the next pitch right there.
You know, sometimes it's, in the head of a defense when you make a mistake.
And pitcher thought she could get one.
Pastor couldn't do so.
And so now runners at the corners and a real prime opportunity in the bottom of the third for Bentonville.
Well, Aubrey, Ellen and the Wildcats are going to call time.
They're going to want to talk about this.
Jeanette.
She at third.
Violet Winn at first base, Aubrey.
Ellen, the catcher at the plate.
And Coach Osnes wants to talk about it.
Yeah, it's a perfect moment to call Tom, too.
Well, he may not say perfect, but you kind of have to right here.
Again, you had the error jumps on the next pitch with a base hit pretty hard.
Hit runners at the corners.
You need to just take a deep breath.
I know we started an hour later, but he's got to find a way right now to just slow things down again and not let this get out of hand early.
We've said, you know, the all the one run ball games they've played.
His team has beaten Bentonville once this year already.
First time in quite some time.
And they've proven they can win.
But you can't let it get out of hand early.
So he's trying to slow them down, settle everybody back in.
Well one thing that you want to do here, if your harbor, you know that Sierra Dots can do it.
If you want to get out of the setting.
I don't think there's any other arm you want in the circle than dots.
However, you also have to say one run isn't going to hurt us.
That's going to be okay, but we don't want to turn one, run into two and a three into four.
So keep our composure.
There are no outs here.
Let's not try to make this bigger than it is right now.
Ellen squares around that one outside.
They're going to throw down and see if they can trick she into biting.
She does not.
And so win finds herself at second good base running.
You know our game that we had last night Harding Academy and DeWitt.
We had a couple of moments where we said, oh, I think they're going to steal here.
They should probably go.
And they didn't.
But early on Bentonville, putting the foot down on the gas pedal, getting runners in scoring position.
Well with runners on the corners.
Yeah.
That's what that's what you should do.
I mean that that is what you should do as a base runner, just in general from a strategic standpoint.
I think one thing that they wanted to talk about was if she does go see if we can get Jonesy to bite.
She did not now to talk about what just happened.
She bunted it in fair territory and then ran into it.
That is an automatic out.
So that's about the easiest way you can get an out for the Wildcats.
They'll take it.
Yeah.
That's a massive break for Harbor right there.
Because you know maybe you get an out off the ball to run probably still scores.
But an automatic out like that holds all the runners.
So the designated hitter May Wegner now at the plate she struck out her first time facing Doc's only strikeout so far for Dodge.
But as we said, 231 this season certainly capable of getting a few more here.
That one over.
Sienna Henderson to Jasmine Thomas for the out.
Tries to go home, but the throw a little bit high for Avon and a run will score.
So Marissa Janessa scoring the very first run of this ballgame for the Bentonville Tigers.
But again now you've got two outs.
And so well executed there by the Wildcats.
And as you said didn't quite hurt you.
It's only the third inning.
We've got a long way to go in this one.
It does give Bentonville the momentum.
They're happy to get the one run in.
They'd probably like another one.
But again, if you're a harbor in the situation you were in two runners on second and third, nobody out.
If you can get out of it just giving up one run, you're feeling okay about it.
So now you've got Violet Wynn at third base with two outs and no one else on Bella myers at the plate.
Now.
Sends this one into foul territory.
And that one is going to land in foul territory.
So everyone's going to come back.
Yeah.
We couldn't quite see in our camera angle there.
I don't know if a player went down the coaches or out over that direction.
So yeah, players obviously back up now as you can hear the applause.
Yeah that Savannah Mount's out there playing left field and it appears maybe she was chasing it.
Ran into the fence.
That would be my guess.
Yeah.
There we go.
Oh yeah.
Yeah I think that's most likely what happened there again just out of the the camera view there.
But the coach immediately ran out to check on her.
Oh she's smiling.
Yeah.
It's a little bit shaken up though.
Yeah.
You know, those fences aren't very forgiving up there, Michael.
And they are not fun to run into.
Especially if your eyes are on a ball trying to track it down for a catch and not necessarily where that foul fences.
And so.
Mounts just talking it out with her trainer and her head coach.
Yeah it's another and I think she's okay I think so yeah a big smile right there.
Round of applause from the crowd as well.
Gets a little response from her teammates out there in the outfield.
And we're ready to go here.
Two down Bentonville has plated one here in the bottom of the third.
The Wildcats looking to get out of this inning and get their offense back up oh two count.
So you're a dot.
See if she goes right after the batter here mirrors.
That last pitch was set up outside.
And a good piece of hitting by Myers to kind of poke at the opposite direction.
So we'll see if she does that again to make her chase or if she just comes right after her with a count in her favor at oh, and two, I think here, if I'm Sierra Dots, I'm coming right at it.
Yeah.
Oh.
There's did have the yeah the double in the first inning.
But it wasn't hit that hard in the second inning.
And there you go.
There she has it blows that one by Myers to end the inning.
And I tell you what I think if you are Harbor that's a best case scenario there.
With just one run in for the Tigers.
They're going to bring up their offense, see if they can tie things up here.

Top of the fourth inning at Majestic Park, Bentonville with a one run lead.
Time for our Arkansas TV student, all star Riley Wagner from Rogers, 3.8 GPA.
The third baseman, a junior planning to attend college to become an occupational therapist.
Congratulations to Reilly Wagner, our Arkansas TV student all star.
Shout out to another school up in northwest Arkansas.
They're the Rogers Mounties in my neck of the woods.
Kennedi Smith, Cierra Dotson, Annalise Saban the four five, six batters here for Harbor are going to kick things off here to start the fourth.
And again Daylan Osborne back inside the circle for the Tigers.
That one high for a ball down.
Yeah.
Burnett two innings three walks three strikeouts.
Osborne's been in there for an inning one walk and two strikeouts so far.
It's the thing.
One thing about softball as you can have that rotation if you want, you got two good arms and kind of mix it up a little bit.
I mean, how many times you talk about the second and third time through the batting order, the batter begins to get the advantage?
Well, this mixes things up.
That's right.
Just anything strategically, as many times as these two teams has faced each other, this is head coach Kent Earley just trying to keep things fresh.
That one fouled back for another strike.
So A12 count here on Smith.
Smith a part of that up and down first inning.
They had a couple of walks and a couple of strikeouts.
She struck out looking to end the inning.
Pull that one outside for ball two.
Easy to lay off of that one.
But it's coming in there pretty quick.
Just high in outside.
Right right.
That one low.
So now the count full and.
An opportunity for both the pitcher and the batter to try to see who wins this match up here.
You know when you get to this point in the year you have some teams that are obviously riding win streaks through the playoffs.
But what these two teams have been able to do in the last full month has just been amazing.
Bentonville has won 14 games in a row, 11 shutouts during that stretch.
Harbor's won ten in a row, seven of those games allowing one run or less.
I mean, it is really shaping up to be just a fantastic game so far in a one nothing game and a real battle in the largest classification here in Arkansas.
Yeah, really a lot of talent up in Northwest Arkansas in the game of softball, which has been fun to see.
We've talked about Burnette, who will be at Texas A&M next year.
Marissa, Jeannette.
She going to Nicholls State, Kate Maness going along with Taylor.
Chris going to Newman.
How about Violet when going to Dartmouth.
Yeah yeah next year.
How about that.
And then Daylan Osborne.
She's committed to NC state.
Kylie Wyman USA UL Monroe I missed a lot of you don't know anything right right.
And that and that's just this year.
It is every year that Bentonville seems to be continuing to put softball talent in the collegiate level.
You know, and I know we love to keep our talent in the state of Arkansas.
But I also love that so many of these high school athletes in Arkansas are going to other places to expand out and, and maybe tell them what Arkansas softball is all about.
This is true.
I mean, it is a hotbed, and coaches are coming in here to recruit for a reason.
Now, I think a lot of listeners will be like, no, we want to keep the talent at all.
And I agree.
But as a a girl from Virginia who went to Florida State, I very much an opponent of going out and seeing what's out there.
I've got two transplants on the broadcast here, so look at us.
We're okay though.
Arkansas is home now.
There's one out now as Sierra Dot's struck out swinging Kennedy Smith still on first after her walk.
And that brings up Analise Saban.
And I think if you're Bentonville here you can't mess around with these walks for too long.
Harbor, you know, like I gotta walk in a strikeout already in this inning.
Harbor's proven they've been able to beat you once this year.
You can't keep putting runners on base.
It gets dangerous if you do that.
Yes, it does.
But again, the base runners are opportunities.
And we saw Bentonville take advantage of that opportunity in the last half inning.
Harbor trying to answer.
That one inside the throw down in time.
And that is a strike and a throw out.
What a throw there by Aubrey Allen.
Right on the money for Kylie Wyman to make the tag.
And she catches Kennedy Smith trying to steal second base.
Well we know you missed the one at the beginning of the game in the first inning.
We're going to show you this one a couple of times.
And to make up for it I mean what a great throw and tag right there.
Had her clearly by a couple of steps.
And for Ellen that's our second batter that she's caught stealing in the game.
Second runner just a great throw.
Wasted no time getting the ball out of her glove.
And we got.
And now and Lee Saban's got to step back into the box and kind of shake that off.
What she just had to experience and popped up this one.
Called off and caught by Taylor Crist to end the inning.
And just like that the threat is over.
It is still a one nothing game.

Welcome back to Majestic Park.
It's a one nothing game in favor of the Bentonville Tigers over the Harbor Wildcats.
Jaguars trying to add to that one run lead here in the bottom of the fourth.
And Sierra darts back inside the circle for Harbor, trying to see if she can continue to keep this.
Just a one run game that's pitched well so far and really able to work out of a, jam where two runners were on base and nobody out, only able to give up the one run there.
She's got to be happy about that.
I think this is a big inning for her right here in this fourth inning.
Keep it at a one run game.
Yeah, absolutely.
And just because I don't think that we gave a shout out to the defense around here when the broadcast started, because we were running a little bit behind with baseball.
Let's show you who was playing around her in the infield Kennedy Smith at third base, Savannah Woods at shortstop, Sienna Henderson at second base, Jasmine Thomas at first base, Emily Sabin behind the plate catching for dots in the outfield.
Savannah mounts in left field, Brylee Bradshaw in center and Olivia Tingley in left right.
Good pitch right there.
And, Carlton taking that one behind in the count now is, dots working working quickly here in the fourth.
Not one a little high and outside for another ball.
So A22 count here on Carlton.
Well you mentioned all those players going off to the next level for Bentonville last half inning.
But you could take the two combined teams and have almost an entire college team.
Could you?
Yeah, absolutely.
Bradley Bratcher going to Lyons College, Savannah Woods, Oklahoma Christian Jasmine Thomas and Arkansas Tech commit Kennedy Smith going to play at Arkansas Tech.
And then Sierra Dots.
As we mentioned another SEC commit.
She is committed to the Missouri Tigers.
Carlton they're flying out for out number one and a hard hit ball, but easily playable for the center fielder Bratcher and Will to make that catch.
And again, when you're the pitcher and you're working ahead you get ahead.
Oh and two it gives you a little flexibility.
They're able to get the the out there pretty easily.
Kate Maness, the eight batter and Taylor Chris the nine hole batter is going to round out the top three to start this inning.
Before we get to the back to the top of the lineup.
And we told you they were one run ball games each of the last two years in the Championship, but 4 to 3 last year, one to nothing the year before.
We're at one to nothing right now.
I mean, it could very well be that way over the next couple of innings.
But those games, of course, played at UCA when the tournament was in Conway.
Rain played a little bit of a factor in last year's game over, and we sat around for about half a day waiting for this game to get played at UCA a season ago.
And so these rain delays, nothing new, right, for these two teams in the state championship.
Well, I heard Bobby Swofford say on the last game it's it's Arkansas and it's May.
You're going to have humidity.
Well you're probably going to have some rain as well.
And we had made it through the regionals and you know, state tournament games, I think pretty much unscathed as far as weather went.
And then all of a sudden we got hit by it here today, earlier today.
Yeah.
Just kind of what you expect in May.
Beautiful.
Now though it is you would know that it rained earlier today.
I talked about the field maybe being a little bit slick as well.
Looks like it's going to be perfect as well.
Dried up.
Madison's this one back.
For strike two.
Two regular season matchups.
We talked about how they split the games as well.
Bentonville defeated Harbor at Harbor 3 to 1.
That was back in March.
That one too.
Felt tip and caught for outnumber two.
So just like that Bentonville two out on the board.
And then the Wildcats able to beat the Tigers in Bentonville 4 to 3.
That one in April just close all the way around.
So Taylor Chris here.
The third baseman stepping back into the box.
She walked her first time against Sierra Dot's.
They're going to look and see if she went around.
The first base umpire says she did.
So that is strike one.
You mentioned that walk to Chris.
That's the last walk the dog has given up the last two innings.
She's been really good.
That one flown high into center fielder just in right, shallow center still in the dirt or the turf as it is out there.
And that is caught by Sienna Henderson for outnumber three.
So A123 inning for the Harbor Wildcats defense.
Let's see if their offense can get anything going here.
As we head now to the fifth, you are watching the Centennial Bank State Championships on Arkansas TV sports.
This is a bit of an odd one.
The offender had to smuggle in an antique execution device for a stash.
Brian had an eye for a good deal.
You mean, did he like ripping off unsuspecting morsels?
Sure.
Brian had a disagreement with the camera guy.
I mean, this fella.
There are no other signs of physical damage.
Which suggests that the victim seen the position willingly.

Welcome back to a one nothing game in favor of Bentonville.
Here in the six, a state championship game between the Tigers and the Wildcats a little orange alongside Michael Westbrook and the Wildcats here with Grace McKinney, Savannah Mounts and Olivia Tingley, the seven eight, nine batters to try to see if they can tie this game back up.
But these one run games are something that they have been used to.
And once again, we now still have Osborne in the circle.
Hey, listen, I think we're getting the best game of the day now.
All those that have already maybe one state championships are probably disagreeing with me, but from our vantage point, what a great game.
I know I've sound like a broken record there, but you got you've got pitching, you've got defense.
And at said early on it might just be one run.
We didn't think maybe that one run in the third inning would be that big of a deal.
But right now and we're in the fifth inning, it's beginning to loom a little bit larger.
Yeah, it was not going to be detrimental at the moment.
But again, if Bentonville can hold off these Harbor Wildcat batters, that one run could be the difference.
This is still Osborne in the circle.
I like the way Osborne threw last inning.
And and also Burnett I'm excuse me and dots I mean, both of them had shut down innings in the fourth.
First time we've seen that from both of the pitchers.
They went one, 232, one count here to McKinney.
She swings just underneath that one for strike two.
And it feels like Osborne is really hitting her groove in the circle.
Yeah.
No of course she had the help last inning.
Aubrey Eland or catcher throwing out a runner trying to steal.
Now a ball.
So a full count here on McKinney.
She walked her last time, but that was against Burnett.
And?
That one in there.
And she watches strike three on the outside corner.
And she heads back to the dugout.
A big time strike out to start things off here in the fifth.
Player that has only walked three times struck out 14.
So?
So the walk in the second was a little bit rare.
That's one that was pretty likely that a batter would lay off of.
I mean, it was a high strike for sure.
And I could see why she didn't go after that one.
So the left fielder, Savannah mounts now at the plate to face Osborne for the first time.
That first pitch in there for a ball.
Oh, oh.
Another ball.
So A20 count here on Mount.
Oh, they.
Will.
You know for Bentonville we've talked about it but 12th state championship appearance.
One back to back 24 and 25 Springdale Harbor.
I mean, they're still sitting their third straight finals appearance looking for that first ever school championship.
And softball.
And we've seen that over the course of the field here at Majestic Park, other teams winning their first state title and the celebration that ensued and you just think about basically they're they're going up against Goliath and they've been right there with them in the last several years are so close.
That's another strike out for Osborne for the second out of the inning.
And you're absolutely right.
When you look at, you know, Warren and Monticello, who are looking for their first state championships as a program last night we were talking about Harding Academy and DeWitt looking for their first state championship as a program.
And then you look at Bentonville 24, 25, 22, 21, 18, 17, 16.
Those were championships they won.
They played for championships in 1914 and 12.
I mean, it is just something whe a lot of these girls were in eighth grade when Bentonville wasn't playing for a championship.
That's the kind of history in the program that they've built over there in Bentonville.
It's yeah, really impressive.
And again, with with Osborne out there right now, you know, she's got really good numbers.
Of course Burnett was our player to watch in the starter.
And this one just kind of AA12 combo.
And you know last year Bentonville had a four year starter out there.
And I remember going back and watching a little bit of that game from a year ago.
But they just picked it right back up in the circle again this year.
Yes they did, of course.
Olivia Tingley here, the right fielder, a swing and a miss for strike two.
So she's got A22 count with two outs here in the top of the fifth.
The Wildcats just looking for something to get going offensively.
She tried to bun her way on the first time.
Popped it up for the out.
Swing and a miss for strike three and an easy 123 strikeouts for Osborne.
She is starting to heat up there in the circle for Bentonville.
Is now her offense trying again to give her some run support.

This game has been a fun one.
Why not watch it all over again?
And you can do that next week as you follow along on YouTube at youtube.com.
Backslash at Arkansas TV to watch the Games on demand, go back and watch this exciting matchup between Bentonville and Harbor.
Good to be with you.
As we are now in the bottom of the fifth.
And the Tigers with a one nothing lead over the Wildcats of Harvard.
Hey, hardly even have to wait til next week.
They've been popping the games up on the YouTube channel quickly so you can go back and check it all out.
Maybe watch it later tonight on your drive back home.
If you're headed up to Northwest Arkansas and want to watch the broadcast, Kylie Wyman, Marissa GNC and Violet Wynn going to start things off here in the fifth for Bentonville.
Well, I'm in the 532 average.
Talked about that in her last at bat, but still trying to get on base for the first time.
Grounded out to the third baseman and grounded out to the second baseman.
And her first two at bats.
Has A11 count right now against dots.
Starts up to 52 pitches for strikeouts and three walks on the day for her.
Well, just can't say enough about what she's done again.
Has only given up one hit.
There was an error in the third inning.
It was DNS.
She reached on the error, came around to score for the game's only run, but, really, what she's been able to do in the circle has been absolutely impressive.
So A22 count here on Wireman trying to get on and lead things off on the basepaths for the Tigers.
Now, Dot says other ideas comes with this one.
This one back up and into center field will drop in for a base hit.
And there she is, her first base, that of the day for Kylie Wyman.
And just the second hit now for Bentonville.
But again in the fifth inning, it just any sort of momentum feels huge for both sides as then Bill has a runner on base looking to maybe tack on an insurance run.
So this is a critical spot here for Bentonville and for Harbor, specifically.
Cierra Dotson, this defense, you're now facing this lineup for Bentonville for the third time as Marissa.
And she puts down the bunt collects it gets the out at first and that advances Wyman to second.
So Jeanette she does her job on the sac bunt to move Wyman into scoring position.
But my point is, let's go through.
Usually the third time you see a pitcher, even if you've never seen her before, you're going to start to get comfortable.
Sure.
Yeah.
This is where Harbor really is going to have to buckle down defensively.
And Sierra Dos is going to have to dig deep in the circle to keep this a one nothing ballgame.
Well, and right there they both sides did what they needed to do.
The sac bunt is laid down and advances.
The runner exactly what we thought we would have.
But see but also the defense did make the play.
Nothing got crazy there.
And so they able to at least get the out.
But the advantage still with Bentonville here with the runner in scoring position a lot of different ways she can get from second to home.
Violet win.
No stranger to the long ball either.
She watches.
Ball three.
I like the the fan brought the K's in the background there to keep up with the strikeouts.
I'll try to count them next time.
Although I don't have to.
We've got Walter, Woody and Troy Mitchell keeping up with stats for us.
That one in their first strike.
We also are keeping score over here at home too.
So I bet there are.
Let's see.
You add them up nine I think that's right.
I think if my math is correct that one fouled back keeping this At-Bat alive for Violet.
Yeah nine for Bentonville.
That's right.
And four for Harbor Park.
They're just keeping up with the Bentonville ones over there.
Yeah.
They're not counting Sierra Dobbs, as I'm sure someone on her side wearing that baby blue is doing it for.
Ball in for a ball.
So a full count here on Wynn with a runner in scoring position like we talked about Kylie Wyman moved over on that sac bun by Marissa Jimenez.
She has a good two two pitch right there and really a good I'm glad to lay off of it.
That one fouled out is win stays alive not the end of the world.
If you throw something where she can't hit it and walks her, put a runner on first and set up a force out situation.
But the thing is, your four hole hitter waiting on deck, and Ellen would love to bat with two on.
That one popped up, it looks like into right field and it looks like I believe Olivia Tingley there to make the catch for out number two.
I believe unless she's back to, foul ball and it was not caught.
Yeah, sorry we couldn't show you that.
There must have been, must have gone foul.
All right, well, then Violet Wynn stays alive on that foul ball.
It's big pitch right here.
She's been able to foul off the last two, but she's going right after her.
We'll see what happens.
Yeah.
And just like that Sierra Dux gets the K. Her fifth of the day and a big time strikeout for out number two.
Well, that's massive right there.
If you're a harbor fan, second out holds the runner at second and you get the three hole hitter.
Violet Lynn has already been on base twice a walk and a single.
She set down for the first time today.
We talked about both of these programs and schools well represented in the state finals this weekend.
Bentonville Soccer defeating Harbor Soccer earlier today for the boys to win a state championship.
And Baseball Harbor Baseball defeating Rogers, the defending state champions, to play for a state championship later on this evening.
They are starting to warm up and get ready over at the baseball field.
A lot of baby blue in the stands and just in Majestic Park in general over here tonight.
And to number three seats on the baseball side of things.
Bryant.
The three out of the central harbor, the three out of the West able to kind of climb through the bracket there and have a few upsets along the way.
So Aubrey Island getting a hold of this one, that one drops in front of the feet of Olivia Tingley.
They're going to score a run.
Wineman on her wheels to come in and score the second run of the game for the Tigers.
The RBI single by Eland adds another one on the board.
Look at this again.
Opposite direction falls one step in front of Tingley who tried to come in.
Make the shoelace grab.
Couldn't do so.
Good piece of hitting from Eland after Wynn had struck out.
And you know, if you think about it, maybe winds at bat helped Ellen.
She saw a lot of pitches able to see what dots was going to throw.
And Ellen West had very little time to get that insurance run.
And we'll have to credit though Tingley being able to keep that ball in front of her, because if that would have gotten a little bit further away, we could see Ellen standing on second or even third with how slick the ball and the turf is out there.
So great job by Olivia to keep that ball in front of her and at least knock it down to make that just a single.
But Bentonville adds another one and they've got a two nothing lead as Mae Winger took the throw down.
Not in time, Aubrey Ellen is safe at second base and we've got a pinch runner.
I believe.
For Ellen, Mariah Smith in there to pinch run for Aubrey Ellen.
So she is standing on second base.
Now you can put a little more pressure on Harbor if you want.
You got that insurance run up two nothing.
And yeah good opportunity there to steal that base.
Get in scoring position again and seems like that's is struggling a little bit.
Not able to find the zone.
The pitch is going up high.
And she's going to have to just take a deep breath regroup here.
Well the freshman struck out her first time grounded out to second.
But an opportunity here for an RBI.
And that one in for a strike and A22 count.
Yeah really good pitch.
Came right back and batted one to look at that one.
See one more pitch.
That one outside full count.
Catcher setting up outside and hit the glove.
Just didn't get the batter to chase after it.
That one fouled back is winger.
Keeps her at bat alive here.
Then they'll making more contact than they did early in the game.
Two hits here in the inning.
It resulted in a run.
They have only three hits for the entire game.
But starting to add up some hits here in this one they're going to call that one outside.
And that is going to be a walk for Wenger.
And she is on.
So two on two outs for the second baseman Bella myers.
That was a good call.
Good good decision by the home plate umpire to lay off there and call that ball for it was outside a bit low.
Sierra Dot's trying to work that outside corner.
Looks like we're going to have a conversation.
And Kent early.
Might want to make a pinch running change again.
So we've got another pinch runner on the base pass.
When we can find her number we'll let you know who that is.
And it's an opportunity for this infield for the Wildcats to just come in and talk about it again.
Two on two outs, a two nothing ballgame here.
And Harvard wants to get out of this one and get their offense back inside.
For Bella come on girl.
All right.
So Bella myers here now to face Sierra Dodds watches that one come in for a strike.
That one taken opposite direction in foul territory.
So everyone will back up and she'll try it again.
And oh, two count.
Now, after that foul ball on Mears.
You know I know we had a lot of people who are tuning in different parts.
They might have thought, well, this game is supposed to be at 4:00 and here we are at 630.
What's going on?
If you did miss it, there was a fairly lengthy delay in the earlier boys baseball game.
You look at an attempt?
Yeah, an attempted steal and even the throw.
We missed it.
It might have gotten past Kennedy Smith at third.
And that is going to bring in Mariah Smith.
Pinch running for Aubrey Ellen for the third run of the game.
And here we go.
There's the throw.
No one's there.
It's a miscommunication.
And Mariah Smith not skipping a beat taking full on advantage of that one for the third run of the day for the Benfield Tigers.
Tough situation for Harbor.
Four players around.
But as you said, nobody on the base where that ball was thrown, really well placed ball from the catcher is where you would want to have somebody to be, but just wasn't there.
Well, Sierra gets get some out of the inning with a strike out, but not before Bentonville is able to play two more.
So they've got work to do as we head to the top of the sixth.

Welcome back.
We have reached the sixth inning here in this six day state championship game between Bentonville and Harbor and Bentonville, able to tack on two runs in the bottom of the fifth for a three nothing lead.
Harbor trying to see if they can get things going offensively.
Well, certainly an inning where Harbor's going to need something.
Those are just two massive runs from Bentonville, to go up three to nothing.
And by the way, Darby Burnett back in the circle here, Alyssa, as they go back to the starter late in the game.
Well, we thought we might see her again.
And we definitely do.
And it's fitting because the senior deserves to be out there in her final game as a Bentonville Tiger.
Try to get this win in a state championship before she takes her softball career to Texas A&M.
So I was saying before I was rudely interrupted by the third out, that we had about an 80 minute delay in the baseball game that was before us here.
And so things got pushed back a little bit, and there was lightning involved.
The softball game started at 502 an hour and two minutes after its scheduled start time.
But, it's been a smooth game so far where they're kind of getting everything back on track.
Well, we're back at the top of the lineup here for the Wildcats.
Brylee Bratcher poking that one to the shortstop.
The routine play for outnumber one well executed there by Savannah.
Excuse me.
From Kylie Wineman over to Lana Carlton now.
Savannah Woods coming up next.
And then Jasmine Thomas.
If Harbor has a chance, these two need to get rolling.
Three strikeouts in their three at bat so far.
Thomas the only one to be on base.
She walked back in the first inning.
Well, woods here is face Burnett, then Osborne and back to Burnett.
So that's a little bit of that strategy there.
Just looking at different arms throughout this game to keep things a little bit off balance.
And it was Burnett who went the first two innings.
She had three walks in three strikeouts, faced eight batters.
So after the first out here in this inning, now her 10th batter to face in the game, woods watches ball one.
That one a little low for ball two.
Only five outs left to work with for Harbor here.
So starting to get really late for them.
Well you're at the top of the lineup, which is where you want to be when this inning started to see if you can get anything going.
Savannah woods swinging at that one for strike number one.
And I don't want to do any.
We have not seen any long balls.
We've only seen one home run through all of the state championship games that we've watched here so far in Hot Springs.
Swing and a miss for strike two.
That was a good swing right there.
Trying to get something going.
But good piece of pitching as well.
By Burnett.
You know even a you know a long ball here.
You're still find yourself down a couple runs.
Right now you need base runners.
Popped up to stay alive.
Savannah woods pops that one back behind the plate and into the screen.
Woods with 12 doubles this season.
Long at bat taking place here, seeing quite a few pitches, a 413 batting average on base percentage of four and 91.
Like you said, it's part of the lineup you want to have at the plate.
But again, with her two strikeouts, she's being a little more patient this time around.
And, try not to get the hat trick.
Three strikeouts.
As I say the last time, though, that Savannah Woods face Derby Burnett, it went to a full count.
So they've been working.
Burnett strike three.
Dropped ball tries to run it out but collected there by Aubrey Lynn.
And over quickly for the first for the Alden.
So there is outnumber two just like that.
Another strikeout for Savannah Woods.
So can Jasmine Thomas start a two out rally here, see if she can get things going for the Wildcats.
Walked when she saw Burnett the last time.
Struck out against Osborne.
Steps into the plate here to see if she can get something going.
That's a difficult challenge.
Seven in a row have been retired by the Bentonville pitchers after a leadoff walk in the fourth.
They have shut them down with five strikeouts out of those seven outs.
That one low for ball one.
I was wondering, have you been able to count all those K's that we see over there behind Jasmine Thomas.
What are we at 12 now?
Maybe I'm just guessing five, six, seven, eight.
I tell them to I don't know.
Yeah I stopped counting at least double digits.
I know that ten.
It's ten.
But we were at nine and the handful has happened since then.
So yes, we are in double digits in some form or fashion up, up A11 count though.
Now here on Jasmine Thomas, who was trying to avoid the strikeout and get something going for Harbor.
We saw it in last night's game one inside for strike two.
That one well placed inside there with, Ace Ellis from Harding Academy when she needed a close out pitch to strike out a batter that in and end an inning.
She did it multiple times.
And and we're seeing Bentonville just get stronger as this game goes on, as the innings get late.
And we got a visit here in the pitching circle.
I'm not sure if that A12 count with two outs in the sixth.
Must have missed something as to why they slowed that down there.
Just going out there to have another communication with their pitcher and gives an opportunity for the harbor head coach.
Randy honest to have a conversat But here we go A12 count on Thomas.
Coming with that one high and strike three.
And Thomas is retired.
Burnett heads back to the dugout and we are now headed to the bottom of the sixth.
Bentonville continues.
Deleted three to nothing here from Majestic Park.

Com.
You guys got some welcome back here in the bottom of the sixth Bentonville.
Trying to add to this three nothing lead they have over the Wildcats right now in this state championship from majestic Park.
And it is going to be Lana Carlton to start things off here for the Tigers.
Hey you played sophomore strike one.
Yes.
Any conversation in the dugout from Burnett to say, hey, you guys just go up there, get.
Come on, get done here so I can get back out there and get the final three outs.
No, I don't think so.
I thought I think she's going to go in there, encourage your teammates, you know, to see if they can give her a little bit more insurance.
Not that she needs it.
Right.
You know, not that she needs it at all.
And she's been able to execute when her number has been called today, as did Dylan Osborne.
So a very well executed game plan in the circle by both of the Tigers pitchers.
But you don't want to take this moment away from your batters, right?
Lana Carlton, Kate Maness and Taylor Crisp going to lead things off here.
Allow them to see if they can get some hits.
Soak in this moment in this state championship game.
Yeah.
Bottom line I'd love to hoist a trophy.
I'm sure you don't want to skip to the end just yet.
A lot of softball left to play.
And of course Harbor's got something they'd like to say about it too.
Sure has really done a good job today against a high powered Bentonville offense.
She's gone five innings giving up the three runs.
Only one of them earned that error in the third inning.
Caused some problems for the harbor team.
And again, four walks, six strikeouts out of 24 batters she's faced.
Her pitch count now up to 101.
That's a swing and a miss drop.
Strike three.
The throw over to first in time.
So a strike out to start things off here for the first out of the inning is in the books.
Kate Maness, the left fielder who struck out her first two times up going to step into the plate as the number eight batter.
There's coach early on screen just a moment ago.
Brief moment talking with the home plate umpire.
Coach early has done so much to really just reload and build this program and culture.
And just like over at Harbor and what Coach Austin has is trying to do, we're in that Tigers uniform.
Playing softball for this program means something that carries a lot of weight, and he's one of the winningest softball coaches in the state.
And they do it so well over there.
Maness fouls this one off one one count.
His assistant Linsey Davis, who is also their first base coach 20 years.
The two of them have been coaching together.
That's an incredible run many years.
That's an accomplishment of its own to stay in the coaching game that long and stick together that long.
A couple of these Bentonville players quoted in the paper before the state championship talking about how they do feel the pressure because they are expected to just go out and win.
But wow, have they been able to rise to it again here today holding on to that three nothing lead.
Well when you're used to it day in and day out, it's nothing new.
As Maness pokes this one into right field under the glove of Olivia Tingley.
And that is going to be a triple maybe hit in the park.
Home run the throw.
Not in time.
She is safe way to put the wheels on a bike Taylor Maness all the way around.
Are you kidding me?
In the park?
Home run.
Does that count for a home run total?
Is that number 60?
Yeah, I think it probably should.
They might rule that an error on the right fielder, but I'm going to have to see how that one is scored.
But regardless, it still results in a run.
I don't think it ever touched her glove.
If it were me, I would just go ahead and say that that's an inside the park home run.
That would be that 60th home run that you were talking about at the beginning of the broadcast.
Wouldn't get that official ruling there.
But right now, that's the way I would go with it.
Also, a great slide there by managed to get around the tag of Abe and not yeah, yeah, just not something we expected to see here in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Already leading three to nothing.
Talk about a way to get an insurance run.
Well, there you go Derby.
Burnett's in the dugout saying thank you very much I appreciate you Taylor Chris here the third baseman going to keep things going or at least try to for the Tigers.
Yeah.
Let's see how they score that waiting.
Yeah.
Keep refreshing I know sitting on the edge of my seat here Harbor of course just trying to get things moved along.
See her dots coming out here.
That one a little bit off the outside plate for ball.
Yeah.
It didn't look to me that touched her glove.
Concerned how hard it went to the wall.
I think it went right underneath the glove.
Yeah.
It happened so fast.
Trying to follow with the camera angle.
Couldn't tell exactly if it ricocheted off her glove or not.
So.
Okay, so we've got a pinch hitter here.
Excuse me.
For Taylor Crisp.
Alexis Lorenzi is in to hit.
Back.
I think they're still trying to figure out how to score that one.
Alyssa I haven't seen it come across yet.
All right.
We'll let them do their jobs and focus at the batter at hand.
And of course Sierra dots with a full count here.
All right.
They're going to call it a single to right with a fielding error three base error.
So there you go.
No home run.
No home run.
So the home run count stays at 15 nine.
And Alexis Lorenz makes her way down to first after the walk.
Yeah.
She draws the walk and then come back in.
Pinch runner for her as well.
And this is.
What?
You know who she is.
There's no number on the front of the jersey to be able to tell, but want to give her some love and a shout out.
We're back to the top of the lineup here, with Kylie Wyman still one out in the bottom of the sixth.
Bentonville up four.
Nothing.
I'm sorry.
Emma Barnett is the runner at first.
This is to all the athletes, coaches and parents.
All the women watching ball one here.
And if you're Sierra Dots Michael, you want to get out of this inning.
You want to give your opportunity to your offense to see if they can get anything going in the top of the seventh, but you got to take a deep breath in the circle.
Great.
Strike there by dots.
You got to keep your composure.
Just keep battling against these batters for Bentonville.
Again she's really done very little wrong in this game.
A couple of errors have really hurt her.
Some defensive miscues.
But just two earned runs out of the four that she's given up and seven strikeouts.
Thing is, I mean, Harbor being shut out right now.
What?
But then Bill has been able to do over the last several weeks with the shutouts had just been impressive.
And, you know, it may still take more than one, but right now, it looks like that might be all in need.
Them is that one in for ball 2 or 2 count on Wyman.
Grant you something needs this game.
Know folks will be getting tuned in and getting ready for the six day baseball state championship as well, which is coming up between Bryant and Harbor.
You know, the stands here starting to fill in that ball.
Deep into right I believe that was caught for outnumber two.
Yeah it was good piece of high out to right here for the second out of the inning.
The runner remains at first base.
So here is Marissa.
Jeanette.
She the right fielder.
Ground out to shortstop.
She reached base on that E-5 and ended up scoring the first run of the game, and then had that sac bunt in the fifth.
Watch a strike one.
But yeah, as we were mentioning here at the baseball stadium, the stands starting to fill up nicely.
Bryant, as you mentioned, just a few, minutes down the road, about 25 minutes down the road harbor coming from northwest Arkansas.
But I have a feeling maybe some of these harbor faithful over at the softball diamond might make their way over to see what the baseball team can do.
Yeah, good crowds at both facilities already.
A couple of fields across from each other to play.
This has been one of the longest innings we've had right here.
As Bentonville has just had a variety of things happen a strike and along at bat in the the single with the three base error, then a walk and then a fly out, all sorts of things happening in this inning.
Never thought you'd say single with a three.
No.
Did you know?
Here we are in the six a state championship saying just that.
And that is another ball.
So a three run count here on GNC.
Now for.
Squares around just to show bond.
But she will pull that bat back to the world.
Watches strike two.
Yeah.
She thought she had ball four for a minute.
She did.
She almost started making her way down to the first base line and had to stop and pause.
At one, fouled back to stay alive.
So now I go back to my question about Burnett.
And yeah, she's probably happy that her team was able to get her another run, even though it's taken a little while.
Well, she's just cooling her arm down there, getting ready to go.
Back here I mean, that one foul, she's staying alive.
Wanting to keep things going here for this Bentonville offense.
Maybe have a little bit of a two out rally with one on a GNC.
Able to get that first run of the game back in the third inning after reaching on the E5, able to come around and score on a base hit a little bit later on there on a ground out, RBI later on.
That one fouled down the right field line again.
So poking at the opposite direction, seeing if she can get anything and fair territory staying after it, and she starts trying to see if she can get one by her.
Don't start trying.
That one down over to third base Kennedy Smith is there.
The throw to Jasmine Thomas in time.
And so that is out number three.
But this is it Michael.
Three more outs and opportunities for Harvard to see if they can get anything on the board and make this one a ballgame.
We head to the top of the seventh here from Majestic Park in Hot Springs.

Welcome back.
Here in the top of the 7 to 3 outs and an opportunity for Harbor.
Otherwise Bentonville is going to go home with their third state championship.
This one's been exciting Michael.
The call.
And really we've seen a little bit of everything.
Like you mentioned, battles in the circle, defense in the park, home runs that were slated for single with a three base error.
It's been a great game.
It's been a really good game for a game that had to wait more than an hour because of the lightning delays and the rain.
I mean, these two teams came to play.
It's been competitive third straight year of these two teams.
And right now Bentonville three outs away from a third consecutive title.
Darby Burnette trying to close things out in the circle for Bentonville.
Kennedi Smith Crawdads and only Saban trying to get things going offensively for Harbor.
Kennedi Smith now with A20 count here to lead things off.
And we've not seen a pitch like what we just saw right there.
That one got away from her.
Nothing Ellen could do about it.
Try to track it down first for the Hornets off the field.
Number three JJ stall.
Then that one fouled down the left field line.
Yep.
Foul ball.
And again just you've got middle of the lineup here.
And you know just a lot of strikeouts across the board here for Harbor in this game.
And Smith struck out looking.
There's been a couple of strikeouts looking three of them in fact.
And so you got to swing the bat here.
You got to try to make contact.
And you have another little delay.
And it's okay.
It's just a really quick conversation.
Nothing to make that long.
Very brief.
And we're back at it here.
Two one count on Kennedy Smith at the hot corner.
Number 22 swing and a miss for strike two down to her final strike.
Here's Kennedy Smith.
Last eight batters that Bentonville has retired.
Six of those have been on strike out.
Chance to add another one here.
Now the starting line up pops that one back to stay alive.
And it is 11 overall strikeouts.
Now Burnett has five.
Osborne in her three innings had six KS.
I decided to second baseman for.
It's just well executed all around inside the circle from two very dominant arms.
And as we have mentioned before, Darby Burnett going to go and be a freshman next year with the Aggies at Texas A&M and playing first that one fouled the shortstop number seven.
By the way.
First pitch for the baseball game scheduled for 705 between Bryant and Harbor.
We know we've got a lot of Harbor fans who want to watch a doubleheader today, so that'll be coming up in about 8 or 9.
Swing and a miss for strike three.
And that is outnumber one two down two away one down two away for Bentonville.
Another K three strikeouts in a row for Burnett going back to two to end the last inning.
And again she now ties Osborne with six apiece.
I mean, just identical numbers from the two of them.
Burnett's going to end up pitching more innings, but three walks for Burnett, two for Osborne and, each with six strikeouts over three innings for Osborne.
And three and a third now for Burnett.
So here is Sierra Dot's the pitcher for Harbor.
Flew out to right field and struck out her to two times at the plate.
The pledge of Allegiance.
I pledge allegiance to.
That one Mrs.. Just a bit long.
Yeah.
I was waiting to see and that one looked good, but just a little bit low for ball one.
No answer.
The sidelines.
That one grounded, I believe, to second base snatched up there by Bella meyers.
Over to Lana Carlson for outnumber two.
So the Bentonville Tigers one out away from their third straight state championship.
And only Saban trying to see if she can get something going for Harbor.
Dominating day today for Bentonville and again just won 14 games in a row 11 shutouts in that streak through and out.
Away from extending that as well here to end the year.
Well your Bentonville fans are now on their feet rallying to see if they can cheer on this team to one more out.
Darby Burnett in there for ball one and ball two.
Excuse me to save it.
Even over two so far in the game.
Thank you for.
That one out for ball two.
So A20 count here on Avon.
And I don't think Burnett's wanting to throw the ball then.
Wanted to try to chase probably just maybe some nerves kicking in.
Who knows.
But I try to go right after here.
I would think.
That one painting that outside corner for strike one.
Oh oh.
That one low A31 count here on Avon and Burnett did have three walks early in the game, two of those coming all the way back in the first inning where she was kind of walk, strikeout, walk, strikeout, doing a little bit of that.
Now.
A third base for John.
All right.
And there is a walk to Avon.
And that is going to bring up the D.H.
Grace McKinney.
McKinley.
Excuse me.
Speaking of the walk strikeout, McKinley walked in the second, struck out in the fifth.
So.
Unless we're going to have a change, which I thought that we might with the D.H.
here and a pinch runner at first as well, that is, see if there's a change made on number one.
Kenzie Burton.
Kenzie Burton taking over running at first base.
One out and they just.
Saw coach Riley Grace McKinley going to hit.
So no pinch hitters here.
Grace McKinley will hit as the D.H.. But we did have a pinch runner.
For the catcher.
Avon at first base.
A quick conversation with Coach Early and his infield again.
The Boonville Tigers one out away from another state championship up.
Stay with, Derby Burnett in the circle.
Three and two thirds.
Trying to go for innings.
Needs one more out to complete the deal.
And once this one is done in the trophy ceremony over, we will get your straight to this baseball game for the sixth day against Harbor and Bryant.
This game just about to start down over at Babe Ruth Field at Majestic Park.
That one in for strike one.
Not one a ball.
So A11 count here on McKinley.
Good pitch.
Right to.
Yeah.
Good pitch.
One down to one.
Strike now and again.
That one kind of throws the batter McKinley a little bit.
Now all of a sudden, even after the walk a moment ago.
Burnett one more pitch away.
That's exactly what it did for McKinley.
There in the box.
Down one high for ball two, a two, two count.
Now they're going to look to appeal.
They say she did not go around.
So this at bat remains alive.
Harbor still being patient to the very end here.
They have walked a number of times in this game.
As you can see, Bentonville fans on their feet.
Low and outside.
70 pitches for Burnett County.
Four of those strikes.
And, yeah, it's run to a full count again here.
We do have a runner on first, so a runner on first, two outs, A32 count.
Swing and a miss.
And that is going to do with Derby.
Burnett strikes her out.
That is going to do it for this one four.
Nothing win for Bentonville.
The Tigers going to win their third straight championship.
And they'll add another trophy case I don't know where Coach Early's going to put it.
I tell you what, that trophy case is getting pretty full, but well done there by the Tigers.
Get that four oh win.
And I can say it now a no hitter yes.
But Derby Burnett dominating performance from Bentonville.
And Dylan Osborne a no hitter in the circle.
Well executed.
Another great season for the Bentonville Tigers.
Another great season for the Harbor Wildcats as well.
But it is tough to take down the champions and that's what they're going to do today.
Another championship is headed back to Bentonville.
We are going to hit the break and show you the trophy ceremony right after this on Arkansas TV sports.

Baseball.
Getting started here in the six day championship between Bryant and Harbor.
Bryant getting things going offensively, the Hornets and the Wildcats getting it going here at Babe Ruth Park.
We're going to hand it over to our teammates to get this broadcast going, but we are going to continue to give out the trophies over at the softball fields, Jackie Robinson Field, where they're playing these softball championships as we are handing out the trophies in the ceremonies here, as Bentonville wins this one four to nothing and another state championship in the six eight, their third straight, their third straight against the Harbor Wildcats as well.
And you just have to say what a fantastic game plan by Coach Earley being able to have that chess match with his pitchers in the circle between Derby, Burnett and Daylan Osborne pitching a no hitter, striking out 12, the bats, getting it done when they needed, and Harbor accepting their runner up trophy.
Sierra Darts well done by Sierra Dotson.
The circle as well for Harbor, the junior and Missouri commit will have one more year with the Wildcats before she continues her college days.
Over at baseball, we're in the top of the first two outs.
Bryant is your visiting team.
Harbor is your home team in this game?
Bryant defeating Conway to get to the championship game, Harbor and knocking off defending state champions Rogers to make it to hot Springs for this game.
A scene we've seen many times before, the Bentonville Tigers hoisting that championship trophy in the air.
That one headed back to Northwest Arkansas.
And in that trophy case over at the Tiger Athletic Complex, a great season for the Tigers.
Congratulations to Bentonville to head coach early.
And just an all around great season for the Tigers.
Thank you so much for joining us for this six day softball state championship Alyssa Orange alongside Michael Westbrook.
It has been a pleasure.
And we are going to lead it straight into our team to get you going here with this six day baseball championship game between Harbor and Bryant.
