The powerful exhibit at the Jewish Museum Milwaukee, "Stitching History from the Holocaust" tells the story of Paul and Hedwig "Hedy" Strnad, a Jewish couple living in Prague in 1939. Paul writes to his cousin Alvin in Milwaukee to get affidavits to emigrate from Czechoslovakia to the US, and hopes that his wife's dress designs will be the key to getting them passage to the US.
