The camera was a kind of bond between us, and he liked being filmed and I liked filming him.
It's also worth reflecting for a moment upon the fact that my son turns the camera on me.
I discovered a kind of trove of footage on his laptop and on his drives that opened me up to the way that he was seeing the world.
The film becomes a kind of dialogue between the two of us.
In a way, it's like I'm relating or I'm sending a letter to someone who's not there.
The thing I want people to take away from this is how much I love my son, and how upset I am about the fact that this opioid crisis just raged like a forest fire, and there doesn't seem to be any way in which it can be extinguished at this point.
It's too late now.
