Bashir has announced he's launching End This Together, a federal political action committee or PAC that a focus on getting more Democrats elected in swing states and Republican strongholds.
Bashir, who's a Democrat, won a five point victory over his GOP challenger, Daniel Cameron, in November.
It was the second time he defeated a candidate backed by former President Donald Trump.
The other was Matt Bevin, who lost his bid for a second term as governor to Beshear back in 2019.
Bashir told the Associated Press his reelection offered a blueprint for Democrats and that his PAC will support candidates that push back against and reject anger, politics and focus on the everyday challenges that families face.
