Gov. Andy Beshear says it's likely he will call a special session of the Kentucky General Assembly to deal with recent storm damage in Kentucky. Beshear told the Lexington Herald-Leader the state will probably reach the $100 million disaster spending cap created by lawmakers in 2024.

The Lexington Herald-Leader interviewed the governor, and in that interview, he said that the state will probably reach the $100 million disaster spending cap created by state lawmakers in 2024.
That money is supposed to last through a two year budget cycle.
But Kentucky has dealt with six emergency level natural disasters since that cap was put in place.
Governor Beshear says he hasn't talked to legislative leaders yet about a special session.
