It's "Alabama Gospel Roots" and we've reached way down to Montgomery, Alabama, to the Gulf, and brought my friend.
- Amen.
- How you doing, brother Chester?
- I'm doing good, God is still good.
- He's still good?
- Amen.
- He has not changed.
- No, He has not.
- Well, it's so good to see you, man.
And Sister Jeffrey took you shopping, man.
Turn right here and look at that camera.
- Yeah, yeah.
(laughs) - Turn around a little bit more like that, look at that.
All sides, all sides.
I'll tell ya, looking good.
- Thank you, sir.
- I haven't seen you in quite some time.
Happy New Year to you.
- Happy New Year to you.
- Great.
- Good to be here.
- Thank you.
What's been going on in your life?
- Well, God.
- Mm-hmm (affirmative).
- God has been going on in my life, you know.
(crosstalking) - It's not so much what's been happening, it's just that God has been good to me.
He brought me, you know, for so long until you know, hey, I have right to be gratitude to just give it back.
So, it's a blessing to see everyone here and to be alive.
And good to see you again.
- I love it, I love it.
We have talked it a long time.
We talked enough for it to go on through life, you know, and we're gonna talk again.
- Amen.
- I'm so glad you answered your call.
Well sometimes it happens when we can't make it, then you have to call people who can make it, like you.
And what did you say?
- I said yes.
- You sure did.
You said, "I'm gonna call mama and see what mama says."
'Cause I know you got some challenges being a caregiver for someone in your family.
Who is that?
- That's my mother-in-law.
- Your mother-in-law, so I know you got your- - My wife and her sisters, all her sisters pretty much- - Rotate.
Yeah, rotate.
I told you, I know what she gonna say.
She gonna say yes and she said thank you so much, Sister Chester.
I appreciate you and I feel like you have a great wife.
- Amen, amen.
I'm blessed.
- Ah, look at you.
Well, listen we're so thankful that you're joining us and that song you just did, gotta pay those tithes, you had to stop people from paying tithes at all?
You had to stop telling them why?
- You know, I can't do that because that is a command and we must spread the gospel and let people know that this is what God has and want us to do.
- Great.
Well, now you down (mumbling) You went down there and spend it on the jacket, see?
- Yeah.
- You'll do better, you gonna do better.
- All right.
(muffled speaking) You saw him, okay, I'll take it.
