Sandra Williams serves Spokane's minority community with The Black Lens newspaper.

Spokane’s Sandra Williams was the one-woman staff of her newspaper The Black Lens. Focusing on people, events and issues important to the Northwest’s African American community, Sandra’s activism began in her early teens, and it continued through her activities founding the Carl Maxey Community Center. Sandy died in a floatplane crash in Puget Sound on Sept. 4, 2022.
