She inspires me, and I think she felt inspired by us trying to also do something different in this space.
And so this is the first [indistinct] that we have done Consensys, Palm NFT Studio, Candy digital, HENI.
All of these companies came together and decided to fund and found the foundation.
I hope that this is proof that, you know, if you engage, if you submit your art, if you bring your community, if they vote for you, then you can have a showcase.
Even if no one knows who you are, we will be reviewing your art.
We approached Nadya to be the first curator of the Palm DAO and she then selected her favorite artist and added also the top ten artists rated by the community.
That created a list of the 25 finalists that we're seeing today.
And I want to elevate the equality and the equity, um, you know, driver that -- that she has.
There are artists from all over the world.
Some of them are fans of Nadya.
In the end, we have more than 120 submissions.
This was a call for feminist art.
The majority of the submitters are women, even though we think any human being can be a feminist, the majority of the artwork reflects women, women's struggles and, you know, women's political viewpoints.
And for us it's really important to showcase this type of work.
Nadya, she goes after big, big names, and after big, big, you know, things because she uses the machinery against its own self.
And I think the way she manages that and the way she, you know, carries herself with so much pressure and so many eyes, and also in a dangerous -- always in a thin danger line.
I wish we were all that brave.
For the first time in the history of the world, when you do something good, you also have that echo online and in other places that can help, you know, move your needle forward.
So what we did is we're issuing proof of contributions, which are soul-bound tokens.
They're tokens that you cannot sell or transfer.
So they prove that you were somewhere, that you joined that Twitter space, that you came to an event, that you minted a POC, that you did something on Palm, and the mix of the Palm token and the POC will actually unlock different votes.
So this is how the voting for these women happened today.
And because this is blockchain, you can see it.
So if anything, this is, you know, like a doubling down messaging on how we can fix governance and corporations and other types of of projects, if you do your voting on chain, because it's automatic, it's immutable, and it's real time and it has a traceability.
So to me, this is, you know, a pivotal moment in time.
The last time this happened, it was the combustion engine and the corporation, and now it's blockchain and DAOs.
And we have the opportunity to change the paradigm and make people in power, you know, react to the fact that we can see what they're doing.
[ Indistinct lyrics echoing ] ♪♪ Lerdo: If the good people stop producing good content, the bad content will win.
And it starts with art.
It starts with community.
It only works if more people join the community, and it only works if the people that are joining the community are respectful and also want to strive for a more inclusive Web3 ecosystem and a more inclusive world.
