Gonna play something for you that we have yet to record in honor of Broadway.
In terms of its composers, there is none mightier than the great Cole Porter, who wrote this in 1939.
You'll recognize it right away.
But for you young people that don't know who Cole Porter is or the history of Broadway theater music, this is called "What Is This Thing Called Love?"
We're gonna use two Afro-Puerto Rican rhythms.
First the bomba sicá and then the yubá.
You will hear the difference in both rhythms.
Watch Orestes and that barrel drum.
Our native drum from my ancestral homeland, his ancestral homeland, Puerto Rico.
It is known as the barril de bomba.
