Brett Hankison was among a group of officers involved in the raid on Taylor's apartment in 2020.
Hickerson was the only officer to be charged as part of the federal investigation into the incident.
He was found guilty of using excessive force and violating Taylor's civil rights.
The federal sentencing was postponed while the court waited for a sentencing recommendation from the Department of Justice.
Well, last week, the DOJ recommended one day in jail and three year supervised probation for Hankison and Higgins.
Hankison.
Attorneys asked for a new trial, and on Friday, a U.S. District Court judge denied that motion.
Today, outside the federal courthouse in Louisville, media protesters and police officers waited for the decision, which was not announced ahead of our deadline for today's show.
Tensions rose earlier in the day when police detained at least three people, including Breonna Taylor's aunt, according to the Courier-Journal.
