This exhibit of textiles-in-transition was recently on display in Denver, Colorado. During World War II, textiles reflected the austerity of the time with quiet and simple designs. But after the war, a sense of hope and rebuilding infused the arts reflecting a dramatic shift in style. The result was a bold explosion of color, shape and pattern unlike what was produced by the fabric industry.
