Max Beckmann was a German painter and printmaker who was largely influenced by his experiences surrounding the two World Wars. Known for his many self-portraits, he was considered by many art historians to be the greatest German artist of the 20th century. In this segment, we’ll tour the Max Beckmann exhibition at the St. Louis Art Museum, which has the largest collection of his paintings.
