John Backderf's graphic novel explores the life of Jeffrey Dahmer during his teen years.
Jeffrey Dahmer was one of the most notorious murderers in U.S. history. Between 1978 and 1991, he killed seventeen people. His crimes included necrophilia and cannibalism. Artist and illustrator John “Derf” Backderf, he was a high-school friend. Backderf’s haunting graphic novel, My Friend Dahmer, isn’t about Jeffrey the monster, but rather about Jeff, a teenaged boy who grew with near Cleveland.
