Ray Li's combined interest in applied physics and music led to the development of SoundSpace Gloves, a virtual electronic musical instrument. The gloves use electromagnetic sensors that transmit information to a computer program, controlling the pitch and volume by hand motions that evoke the movements of a conductor.
