It’s not a dome. It’s a cupola. That’s the architectural term used for the drum-shaped roof that sits atop the capitol building. Built over a period of 22 years and completed in the early 1860s, the Ohio Statehouse was once the tallest building in town and considered a destination spot for honeymooning couples from the countryside.
