Mayor Ras Baraka proposes to clamp down on corporations buying up housing in Newark
Newark Mayor Ras Baraka Wednesday proposed a series of steps to crack down on corporations buying up housing in the city, making it unaffordable for current residents. The announcement came after a report by Rutgers University entitled "Who Owns Newark?" found that nearly half the city’s residential property was sold to corporate buyers in a three-year period.
