Union demands higher wages for Atlantic City casino workers

Casino workers in Atlantic City will vote Wednesday on whether to authorize union leadership to call a strike. The casinos' contracts with Unite HERE Local 54 expired on May 31 and the sides have been holding talks. The union is demanding higher wages, saying that while the industry’s gaming revenues and profits have surpassed pre-pandemic levels, wages have not kept pace.
