Some 1 million barrels of oil from strategic reserves to be released daily for six months
Some relief could be on the way from the high gas prices that followed Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. President Joe Biden announced Thursday the U.S. will release 1 million barrels of oil each day from the nation’s strategic reserve in order to help reduce prices. Gas prices in New Jersey are currently averaging just under $4.20 a gallon.
