(upbeat music) - Pacific Impact presents the Business Voyage, a free event designed to empower Polynesians with tools, mentorship and resources to build their own businesses.
Semisi Livai is going to share what's planned.
Hi, Semisi.
Thanks so much for being here.
And you've got a lot planned for this night.
- Yes, yes, I do.
- Oh my gosh, so let's talk about what people can expect when they come.
- Okay, we crafted this event to be what I wish I had when I was younger, as new to the entrepreneurship whole program stuff.
And so we have the event starts at four o'clock to 6:00 p.m.
where we guide people and set up their structure, help them find price point, help them find profit margin, and just kind of, we have a bunch of professionals there for the business development side.
From 6:00 to 6:30, we feed everybody for free, we have dinner, we have some entertainment, where we have some beautiful children doing some Polynesian dancing for us.
And then 6:30 to 8:30, we have our captains on deck.
We have selected 42 Polynesian-owned businesses to share their experience, share their company.
They're all in different industries.
And the goal was for people to come in and see people like us crushing their goals in so many different industries.
And so from 6:30 to 8:30, we get to meet them and learn from them and support their businesses.
8:30 to 9:30, we have our Shark Tank pitch competition.
We're gonna select the top six.
We usually have over 100 video submissions of business ideas.
We'll pick the top six to present live on stage, and our Polynesian Sharks will decide who wins and takes home the $10,000 in cash prizes.
- Wow, I mean, you've got so much planned for that evening, a dinner, and then you said you also do these giveaways during the event of $100.
- Yes, yes, to get people to come, not only is it free and we feed you free dinner, but we give away $100 every 10 minutes for five full hours, just for attending.
And the way that you get your ticket in that to win is to just meet one of the captains and get to know about their business.
So we love promoting these businesses.
There have been over 100 Polynesian-owned businesses that submitted to be a captain.
- Wow.
- Unfortunately, we can only fit 42 in the building.
And so those 42 are gonna be there.
We're gonna grow their business.
We're gonna create greater brand awareness for them.
And when they crush their goals, they can help the next chapter of sailors and voyagers.
- That's great, that's great.
Well, thank you so much for what you're doing.
Thank you.
- Thank you.
- And if you'd like to know more about that big event coming up, Pacific Impact's the Business Voyage, it's November 21st from 4:00 to 10:00 at Zions Technology Center, go to thebusinessvoyage.com.
