Many NJ businesses have worker shortages despite the state’s high unemployment rate. As of November, the unemployment rate here was at 6.6%, a decrease from the previous month’s 7% rate, but still higher than the national average of 4.2%. Labor experts say the continued extension of unemployment benefits is a contributory factor. And rising rates of COVID-19 aren’t helping the situation.
