Supporters of the High Speed Rail mark the start of construction.

California Governor, Jerry Brown, came to Fresno to mark the start of construction for the California High Speed Rail. The controversial project will be built in phases. The first is from Merced to Fresno. Supporters of the project, including Fresno Mayor Ashley Swearengin and Congressman Jim Costa, attended the invitation only event.
