We report on a pair of lottery bills clearing their first hurdle today. A Senate committee okayed both Gov. Bentley's lottery plan and another bill and sent both to the full Senate. Meantime, a House committee today approved a BP settlement bill that would fund debt repayment, road projects and Medicaid. It now goes to the full House. And we'll be joined by House Minority Leader Craig Ford.
