Dick Brewbaker of Pike Road, the chairman of the Senate education committee, discusses this week's committee action on bills dealing with both Common Core and making the state superintendent of education an elected office.  Rep. Allen Farley of McCalla sponsored the Senate-passed bill to allow participants in a UAB study to take a marijuana-derived drug for seizure disorder.
