Nestled between two 4,000' mountain ranges, winter in Carrabassett Valley is wonderful.
Skiers know Carrabassett Valley as the home of Sugarloaf/USA. But with the state's largest concentration of mountain peaks higher than 4,000 feet, the valley is much more than a ski resort. The iconic Carrabassett and Dead Rivers are prominent features of this part of northern Franklin County it all adds up to plenty of outdoor winter adventure opportunities.
