Murphy mandates vaccinations for health care workers

The mandate comes as the delta variant of the coronavirus rampages across NJ.

Gov. Phil Murphy mandated COVID-19 vaccinations for thousands of workers across New Jersey, most of them affiliated with health care facilities and so-called congregate residences like assisted living facilities and county jails. The state mandate -- which has a Sept. 7 deadline -- lets staff opt for at least weekly testing instead.
