My name is Jeff Hamilton.
And I'm a celebrity jacket designer.
I've been doing -- designing jackets for over 40 years.
You know, growing up, I never thought I was gonna be an artist or a designer.
You know, I wanted to become a CPA, out of all professions.
I thought I always had an artistic side to me.
Fast-forward into the late '80s, I really just started getting into the jackets because the jackets, for me, were -- As an artist, it's a perfect canvas for me to be an artist and being a designer.
It is not just a jacket you have that you're wearing because you're cold.
It is something that -- It's an attitude that you're buying.
It's something that you have.
It's kind of a collectability that you have, but it's something that makes you proud.
The key element to it has been, I would say, Instagram, because it gave me a platform where people, they knew about the jackets.
This weekend, we had DJ Khaled that was wearing my jacket.
We've done some jackets for, obviously, all the sports people and the LeBron and the Kobe and Michael Jordan.
Every single entertainer.
I mean, all the -- Drake was -- I was with Drake last weekend when he performed at the Apollo Theater.
And he brought in Dipset and The Diplomats.
So Drake was on stage showing them -- showing off his jacket to everybody and say, "I'm so happy to be at the Apollo Theater and so glad to be around with Dipset, because my inspiration growing up was all Dipset and Diplomats, and I'm actually wearing the actual jacket that Jeff Hamilton made..." So he shouted me out on stage.
And, for me, it was just, you know -- There is no dollar price that can quantify the amount of pride and passion that I get when things like that happen.
You know, it's just like dreams come true day after day.
You've seen Michael Jackson jacket.
You've seen Martin Lawrence jacket in '91 when he came out and started dancing with the jacket.
You've seen my jacket in Guns N' Roses.
You've seen Madonna.
You've seen -- And obviously Michael Jordan and Kobe, the most famous ones of all.
Still very sad and shocked about it.
Our dear legend friend Kobe passed away.
And in some ways, somewhat, he just gave me his blessing in a way that people realize that I was the one that designed the Kobe jacket, the famous, most iconic jacket in the NBA.
That picture is always going to be iconic.
For me, I have -- My definition of legacy is planting seeds into a field without the expectation to see the flowers fully bloom.
I still have -- At 67 years old, I still have that ultimate passion of doing the things that I love.
And I'm only looking at it as a blessing for me rather than a business part of it.
I might not be here in "X" number of years, but if my work stays here and inspire different people in the future, I think I made my mark in this lifetime.
