At least that's what officials from a new program at Kentucky State University says high school students will be teaching adults digital literacy through the university's Foray Youth Development program, which will give the tech changemakers the resources to host workshops.
Well, I think we can learn from each other.
Illiteracy is an issue that faces us working women, older adults and also developing those digital literacy skills and settings and giving them the leadership skills that they need for a future job market.
They may learn some tricks and trades that the older adults have and vice versa.
And then when you think about the professional environment, everybody are different.
Different ages and different come from different socioeconomic backgrounds.
And so I think that to help close the gap, as well as preventing fraud and scam amongst the elderly groups, because that's a big issue.
Yeah, but there will be a after school program, a kind of a we can establish program specifically where we're going to community centers, where we're collaborating with churches.
That's another area that we may collaborate with.
And also like nursing homes, nursing home facilities, retirements, facilities, So we could get that collaboration with the teens, with the adults, the older adult.
I think it's important for KSU to partner with AT&T because this helps us to expand our reach.
Right.
So if if we didn't work with AT&T, this program really would just be centrally located in Frankfurt.
But by them sponsoring us to deliver this program, we're able to expand our reach to other counties where our agents are in other and where we have other volunteers located as well.
AT&T awarded the schools for each program $10,000 to implement tech changemakers in Kentucky.
