Welcome to the annual Chanukah at the Miller Hill Mall.
Thank you, everybody, so much for coming.
Today is a very, very difficult day for the Jewish people.
We all know what happens in Australia.
We all feel the pain.
Chanukah is a joyous time.
And sometimes it feels funny that we're all standing here, that we're celebrating Chanukah.
We have joyous music.
We're going to dance.
We're going to have a show, and we're.
We're kind of confused.
We're conflicted.
The Torah tells us in times of darkness, our message is always light.
It's an honor to be here and to help celebrate the 50th, anniversary of the public menorah lightings in Duluth.
I think it's important that this is more than just a seasonal tradition.
As rabbi mentioned, it's also a shared moment of light in the darkest time (Singing) We will not cower.
We will not fear.
The message of the menorah is very clear (Singing) by lighting the menorah in the Holy Temple in the year 165 BCE, almost 2200 years ago, they lit that menorah.
And that candle has carried us to this day.
Happy Chanukah, everybody.
