So I'm from Alabama originally and very proud of that.

And I wrote this tune about my hometown, I'm from Selma, Alabama.

(gentle music) It's not too far from here, Shoals area.

But wrote this song about not just going back to the physical place of home but being able sometimes to close your eyes and just go back to that mental place where... You know, we didn't have much growing up and my mom raised us for the earlier part of our lives by herself and she's here this evening on the front row.

I'm very happy about that.

But, uh... (gentle music) Like I said, sometimes all the material things that you remember as a kid and things aren't around anymore, and that house that we lived in isn't there anymore.

But sometimes, like I said, I just close my eyes and able to go back home and I hope you feel the same way when you listen to this song.
