So, Chance Reynolds, tell us about how Chaunces came How and when.
So back during the lockdown, everyone was at home.
The quarantine.
During then, I was just bored and wanted to m because I'd been burnt out for a And so I decided to make a song just in my bedroom.
And I made a video with it and I was putting that on Instag And then eventually I wanted to put a, I wanted to d a fundraiser for our local coffe but people couldn't come.
So we did like a livestream and I got these guys to play wit I just like wrote out charts and and they learned the tunes and then Chaunces as a band was kind of formed and from ther it just kind of fleshed out more Yeah.
Cool.
So what are some of the musical influences?
Obviously, I'm hearing jazz, exp a little math rock.
Tell us about- Yeah.
Yeah, defin I grew up listening to a bunch o Zeppelin, 311, Future Sound of London, a lot of electronic music.
My dad was definitely in his pri in the nineties, and so I took a lot of musical i from that and like, yeah, I've been making bass musi for, for since, what, sixth grad How old are you in sixth grade?
Something like that.
So I take like my influence from electronic music and love of, ye like prog stuff, anything jazz, just kind of weird stuff that makes you want to pay attention to it, Cool.
Well, let's pay attention to this next Here's Chaunces on WUFT Amplifie You got a cut on your arm.
I bet it hurts.
But you make the blood come out to make it seem worse.
It's my birthday.
Thanks for coming.
You got me way too much and made it seem like nothing.
You got chicken curry.
That sounds good.
You got it way too spicy because no one els You just ran a mile.
That's really far, but youre breathing really heav just to make it seem hard.
Doing the most.
You're doing way too much.
Doing the most.
You're doing way too much.
I went to your funeral.
Yeah, I cried, but it was so ext I forgot that you died.
Cool.
We did the most.
Well, I was born in the mud filled with apple juice and I was old ‘til I was young.
I did my job til I was done.
A big bird came up to me, told me to breath then I went to sleep.
A big bird crawled in the bed, r his head, by morning was dead.
“What do you do for money?
” asked the bartender to me.
“I squeeze the water from the sponge for the dishwash you see.
” A big bird came up to me, told me to breathe, then I went A big bird crawled in the bed, r his head, by morning was dead.
“Say no more, ” said the bartender, “Ive heard it al He said that he remembered, but it's my first time here.
A big bird came up to me, told me to breathe, then I went A big bird crawled in the bed, rested his head, by morning was dead.
Thats Bird Song from Chaunces on WUFT Amplified.
So where can people find out more about Chaunces and, I dont know, find your music or touring plans Yeah, Instagram.
That's really the best thing.
It's spelled the same as our ban Chaunces.
C-H-A-U-N-C-E-S.
Correct.
@ before that.
Yeah, right.
Um, and, yep, we have, we have shows coming up and shows to happen later and yeah, it's on Spotify, Bandc How many, how many things have you release Currently, well, I originally released the Mini E It was seven tracks, the origina that I did on Instagram.
That's still on Bandcamp, but it's not on streaming.
And otherwise we have Good Death Coopers wearing the shirt for t um, and Doing The Most.
But all the stuff that we have r right now is actually, or at the of recording this I guess is all mainly me, just like production in the bedr sampling stuff.
But all future stuff's going to with more instrumentation with other members.
Yeah, Instagram's our main spot.
Oh wait, sorry.
Producer wants to know, what does the band name mean?
What does the band name mean?
Ye Chaunces.
Yes.
Yeah.
Chaunces.
When I was, uh, I was friends wi and they they would call me Chancé just like he was French.
And he would, like, really lean into his accent.
And instead of call me Chance, he would call me Chancé And then I was just, honestly, I was just trying to think of a new Instagram hand because it used to be Chance und moosic, M-O-O-S-I-C instead of m and I didn't like it.
So I really it was just that Chaunces worked and I thought it was kind of fun people started calling me that in real They thought that was my name.
So and I'm okay with that.
Like Chaunces is a funny first n Chaunces!
Whats up?

But then something happened when you died.
But now I see palm trees in my m Now my ears burn.
Smoke alarms inside.
It's hazy in here.
I've accepted that my head won't last too long.
I've got nothing.
I've got nothing left, got nothing left to fear.
