Chicago City Council Backs a Plan to Keep ShotSpotter

The 34-14 vote came after an intense debate over the gunshot detection system.

Mayor Brandon Johnson could veto the order. However, two-thirds of the City Council voted in favor of it, raising the possibility the City Council could override a mayoral veto, which has never happened in Chicago history.
