The Chicago City Council passed an ordinance today putting new restrictions on petcoke.

The Chicago City Council passed an ordinance regulating petcoke today. Petcoke is a coal like substance, a byproduct of refining oil. Huge piles of petcoke have been building up along the Calumet River from the BP Refinery in Whiting, Ind. Neighbors say their homes and yards are blanketed with dirty petcoke dust when the wind blows.
