Detection of Gravitational Waves Stuns Scientific Community

Albert Einstein first predicted the existence of gravitational waves as part of his General Theory of Relativity 100 years ago, but even he had doubts about whether they might ever be detected. Last Thursday, in an announcement that has scientists giddy with excitement, their existence was confirmed. Three scientists who worked to develop the instrument that made this discovery possible join us.
