Argonne Laboratories launches a new seven-year study to find out the typical sources and distribution of disease-causing bacteria in the Chicago River system. The study will enable the Water Reclamation District to move closer to answering the question of whether it will ever be safe to swim in the Chicago River. Elizabeth Brackett has the story.
