In August 1981, Ron Magers joined the Channel 5 news team in Chicago as a street reporter. By mid-1982, Magers was an anchor for the 4:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. newscasts at the station. In this 1985 interview on "Chicago Tonight," John Callaway and Magers talk about the local news industry, his personal story with alcohol and more.
