Animal groups are working to reverse a rise in shelter euthanasia rates in Chicago.

As Chicago's city shelter sees an increase in stray animals coming through its doors since the COVID-19 pandemic, more dogs and cats that end up at the shelter are being euthanized. Animal care organizations in the city are working to reverse that trend.
