I think it is very important to normalize this Chinese art and culture in our daily base.
(soothing music) This is our home, and I don't like people to see me as a foreigner.
I'm Jen Jen Lin, and I'm the founder and director of Chinese Arts Alliance of Nashville.
(instrumental string music) The Chinese Arts Alliance of Nashville is established in December of 2003 to promote awareness and understanding, appreciation, enjoyment, of Chinese Arts and culture.
We found in Nashville back then, there's not a lot of Chinese Arts culture being presented.
We have Chinese drumming, (soft banging) (energetic music) (loud banging) (harsh drumming) Lion Dancing, (piano music) modern contemporary dance.
The audience love our Lion Dancing.
(harsh drumming) (foot stomps) Easy access for people to see this beautiful story, with a beautiful action and dances.
(somber music) We just feel so much unsettling sense, due to COVID, due to Ukraine War, and that's our more contemporary expression.
We are the Chinese American.
This is our home.
