(upbeat music) - Families are invited to PBS Utah's Shared Stories December event at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center featuring festive PBS kids screenings and holiday fun.
Melanie Pehrson-Noyce is here to tell us more.
Hi Melanie.
Thanks for being here.
You had to come all the way down the stairs.
- Yes.
(laughing) - So you do Shared Stories and event every month at the Cultural Celebration Center.
And tell me what you've got planned for PBS Kids Holiday edition.
- Yeah, we know holiday season is a very popular time for PBS kids.
Lots of fun holiday shows coming up, the classics that come back around.
And one of those is the Creature Christmas "Wild Kratts Creature Christmas," which we're excited to show.
And then we'll also be showing a new film, a new episode of the new popular PBS Kids show "Weather Hunters."
- So shows they can watch.
I know kids love "Kratts' Creatures," so.
- They do, yeah.
- It's a great time to come watch it with your family, with friends, with everyone and just kind of celebrate.
- Exactly.
- Yeah, and I know you've got more planned for that, so not just the screenings, but other things to celebrate the holidays with PBS kids.
- Absolutely, so we'll be providing dinner and as well as a hot chocolate bar, trying to bring in those warm and cozy feelings of the holidays and also our furry friends advocates, the animal shelters throughout the valley, Salt Lake County Animal Shelter, Humane Society of Utah and a few others.
We're hoping to have them join us for a donation drive for taking care of the animals that are there that are needing help in this cold time, so.
- Okay, and then I know you're gonna make Christmas ornaments too.
Little creatures, I suppose.
- Yeah, we'll have Christmas ornaments.
We'll have a photo booth that families can take pictures with, other small holiday-centered activities.
- That's great.
That's great.
Well, thank you so much for being here, Melanie.
And thanks for the event.
- Yeah.
- And if you'd like to know more about that upcoming, it's the December Shared Stories PBS Kids Utah Holiday Edition, December 9th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center.
