My name is Christiana Malacara.
We are celebrating the 45th annual Cinco de Mayo celebration here in Saginaw, Michigan.
This is a long standing tradition for the area and the region.
[Festive Music] This festivity includes a parade and a music festival.
This year, the parade consists of dozens of local businesses, community nonprofits, schools and clubs.
Cinco de Mayo is a celebration of Mexico's victory over France in 1862.
In 1973, the first parade began here in Saginaw.
This consist of floats and music Along with a community gathering at La Union Civica Today, the community comes together to maintain this tradition, to grow cultural awareness and to have an event for the beloved community Happy Cinco de Mayo
