>> CARDONA IS CALLING FOR MORE TRANSPARENT THE AND A SAFETY PLAN FOR PEOPLE LIVING IN THE AREA AND THEY WANT THESE FINDINGS TO GO BACK TO THE COMMUNITY.
>> SAID THEY COULD SUPPORT PEOPLE IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD.
IF YOU GO DOWN 63rd STREET, YOU WILL SEE THOSE VACANT LOTS.
>> IS A LOT OF OTHER THINGS THEY COULD BE DOING WITH THIS .
THERE ARE MANY YOUNG WOMEN THAT NEED PLACES TO STAY WITH THEIR KIDS , THEY ARE SLEEPING IN THE POLICE STATION.
IT'S UNACCEPTABLE.
>> THE CITY DID NOT RESPOND TO OUR REQUEST FOR COMMENT, TODAY.
HE PREVIOUSLY SAID THAT THEY MUST MEET THIS MOMENT TO RECEIVE ASYLUM-SEEKERS WITH DIGNITY.
THE CITY OF CHICAGO IS CONTINUING TO ENGAGE IN WOODLAWN.
THERE HAVE BEEN NEW MEETINGS WITH WOODLAWN RESIDENTS AND SAY THAT THE SHELTER IS MEANT TO ALLEVIATE CROWDING.
THEY SAY THAT MANY RESIDENTS STILL REMAIN UNHAPPY.
>> WE WILL BE HERE EVERY DAY UNTIL THEY MOVE IT.
